[QUOTE]I don't giggling would be my reaction to hitting and name-calling.  But I don't have kids because my reaction would be ... not understanding.

<div>It's not so much the hitting and the name calling as it is the name itself.  Who uses words like that around a toddler, you know?  It's fucked up.</div>

That is one trashy show I will not watch. The Palins scare me.

I feel that way ALL the time. I hate when I'm in public and people are using awful language in front of a toddler, or when Amber and Gary used to scream profanities at each other on Teen Mom in front of their baby...I can have a mouth on me, but I also know how to edit myself as needed.
  • I pretended to be a bridezilla. I wasnt very good at it, I was too relaxed, even when shouting "where's my tiara!?!?!" To make my shenanigans worse for my WP, I made a bridezilla puppet. I still use her from time to time.

  • All the Palins have stupid names. Willow is a dog name. Tripp is an action. Barf.

  • Our friends have a really stupid female dog. Years ago, they got into the habit of calling her "Dumb Bittch." Their 16 month old is talking now, and they're terrified he's going to repeat it. They've tried to knock it off, but they still slip up every now and then.

LDY, I don't remember the girl's name. The dude's name was Brian, but you can't search by the groom's name.

<div>I'm the same way. Around my friends, I have a serious potty mouth. I don't think I have ever even said 'darn' infront of the kids I watch though. </div>

</div><div>Totally concur. And Bristol is a little town near where I live. I can't remember the other names, but they are equally ridiculous. And Track? WTH? The only one I can even sort of think is normal is Piper.</div>

  • At least Sarah didn't name her kid Maverick.
  • I don't think swearing in front of your kids is the worst thing in the world.  Teaching them that any kind of ethnic/racial/sexual orientation slur is okay to use though?  That's what really gets to me.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Hey all - it's night now. : My sister yells at people who swear in front of kids (that aren't their own). We were in the parking lot and a guy was buckling his kid into the carseat next to us when two guys came by saying sh*t this and f*ck that blah blah blah.  And my sister barked "Watch your mouth around children!" and I way that sounded more severe than all the curse-words in the world combined.

<div>See, that pisses me off. Part of parenting is teaching your kids right from wrong. Sometimes, you need to teach them that certain words are not appropriate for them to say. However, <strong>I</strong> did not choose to have kids. I can cuss wherever I want, whenever I want. Usually I restrain myself, but I hate hate hate when some parent (usually a mom) scolds me.</div>

<div>Agreed.  It's not the duty of some dudes in a parking lot to police their language in public.  And it's especially not the duty of complete strangers to police them.</div>
  • Piper is a dude who leads rats out of a city.

Brian is making fun of me because I'm putting hot towels on my neck. I'm stiff as crap from this damn air mattress. And I'm tired. Muni and Aryn saw. I was basically a zombie at 4. I'm shocked I got Aleigh back in one piece.
  • I knew at a young age which words I could and could not say. Now, I will try to watch my mouth around young ones - but no one has any business telling me off if I slip up.
  • Guys, Cooper looks really cute with his bandage. He seems to be leaving it alone, so he doesn't have to wear his cone, but he kind of prances now.
  • Awww sweet Cooper.

X is dreaming next to me and doing that cute moving her paws in her sleep thing. I love this puppy girl.

You are all wonderful. Yeah, we have a Bristol around here, and it is not a nice area. Used to be an industrial city along a river, then went down the tubes. They are trying hard to fix it up; but i do not see any hope for fixing up Bristol Palin. Edited for clarity.

  • Special I totally agree. They are not my children, and unless I am babysitting I will say whatever the fluck I want.
  • I wouldn't correct a stranger for talking crazy. If it were REALLY extreme, maybe, but it would have to be if we were like, at a restaurant and there wasn't a different table to move to. But really, that doesn't happen that often.

I definitely agree that the occasional curse-word slip up isn't that big of a deal, but racial/sexual slurs is more than I can handle.

But I guess the good news is I don't talk like that anyway.
  • I have too many desserts pinned on pinterest on my "yummies" board. I can't seem to find any healthy things for dinner this week. First world problem.
  • I once let "fuuuck" fly in front of a small child accidentally, and I felt awful and apologized, but fuuuck if I'm going to be constantly on guard and checking for children before I swear.  If I'm aware they're in ear shot, I try to check it, but otherwise....well, I'm an adult.

Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
  • SO MANY CROCKPOT RECIPES and I can't find my fucking crockpot. FUUUCK YOU PINTEREST.

Gator is only a year and a half old and I say fuuuuuck in front of him all the time.
  • Mun1 ygpm back! And I would totally flip someone off if they tried to tell me off. I'd also probably say something like, it's inappropriate for grown ups to tell other grown ups what to do. I probably wouldn't. But I think I'd still flip them off, I do love to do that, oddly.
  • I hit my knee super hard on a stage electrical box, and started to let out a loud FUUUCCCXCK in front of my middle school kids. I caught myself. They still found it hysterical, but were also concerned for my well being. Oops. For the record, I had that bruise for four weeks. It was my favorite bruise of all time.

<div>Yes. I try to keep my mouth in check, but do let some things fly. If it was really offensive, I might apologize. </div><div>
</div><div>I never got all freaked out about people swearing in front of my kids. It was/is my job to discuss what they heard with them if it bothered me or them. Not some stranger's.</div>
