I have my first fitting in mid-August. I'm not sure when the final would be. I love the top part of my dress. I just think the bottom is so big and takes away any kind of shape.

I felt the same way about mine, especially when I saw pictures of me with people right next to me (so pushing the dress in) vs with the dress spread out. You could always ask your seamstress if that can be altered at all.

So...my H's parents' car is in our driveway, and we want to go pick up dinner, but we have no idea when they'll be coming for the car and we have no way to get a hold of them, and it's making me a little angry.

Hey ladies. I'm eating dinner and watching Wheel of Fortune. I cut the grass earlier and finished with literally a minute to spare as I could see lightning over the houses across the street.

Petal I loved my dress, but also didn't care that much about "the" dress. So I never really regretted it at all, but did kinda forget what it looked like. Then I went to my first fitting and fell in love again.

I want to be on there sooo bad J. They had a wheel mobile event in Tacoma before I moved but I had nobody to go with me. If H had been home I would have dragged him there with me. I think that's basically my life goal is to get on there.

I see. I had no idea what the normal timeline is for first/final fittings because I had both within about 10 days in the 2 weeks leading up to the wedding. I'm sure the seamstress will be able to address your concerns.

Petal - I don't think the second photo is unflattering at all. I think you look absolutley beautiful in that dress. The shape of it looks exactly the way it's supposed it. It makes you look very shapely and toned.

Thanks Poke. I think part of it is that I wasn't planning on a train at all and BAM there it is. I'm willing to believe I'm crazy in the head about this. I'm beginning to experience some stress related to the wedding. I just need to drink more.

I'm going to the brewery tomorrow so I can get some swapping beer.

I love Jeopardy, but I can't watch Wheel of Fortune. It disturbs me that Pat and Vanna haven't aged in the last 20 years. AT. ALL.

Petal - I like that dress. It's beautiful. I don't think it's too poofy on the bottom. If you still do after you try it on again, see if you can take out any of the layers that add the poof, or do you wear a separate crinoline underneath it? Maybe just skip that all together or see if there's a slimmer one..

Oh, and FI just told me via text that he booked us a B&B this Sunday night...we're going antiqueing (sp?). He hates shopping, but I'm so geeked that he's taking me shopping! And I love the B&B thing! So romantic.

Petal, I wonder if your seamstress could sort of...pleat the back a little? To save the train, but pull it in tighter in the front. So basically, pull the front of the dress tighter (pulling towards the back), and throw a few stitches in to fold it under in the back. I'm having a hard time explaining, but here:

Look at my butt, ha. Except my pleats were built in with extra fabric (and originally in the dress) so they didn't change the shape. But if yours were made by pulling fabric back... Also? My dress looked much more shapely when it was bustled after the ceremony, so that should help too.
