[QUOTE]In Response to Re: FFF : Ha - I told her that she should calm down with it and then I became one of her "least liked knotties" And I'm pretty sure I told her that she and her FI were attractive - I guess I'll hold my tongue about that now.  But the caffiene thing was obnoxious. No one drinks coffee and says "ya know, I could get addicted to this!" I mean, yes, it's an addiction, but it's not publicized like other addictions and what not - I can definitely understand people not knowing the side effects. Not everyone is smart or educated on all topics.

The whole coffee thing that she was talking about at the beginning  just made me roll my eyes... it was after she said stuff like addictions happen because people have no self control and something about not understanding how an alcoholic could not realize that they have a problem and something about how denial about your addiction is ridiculous, in her opinion, that I got mad. I'm just not a fan of her.

[QUOTE]Okay in this thread (clicky) , I flame KatWAG for telling OP "there and their have different meanings. FYI." First off, if you're going to be the grammar police, use capitals to begin your sentence. Second, I think it's ridiculous to comment on things like that that don't really impact readability.  Also, same thread, I thought Special was silly for posting about the OP using isle when she clearly meant aisle. I know grammar is a pet peeve for a lot of people, but at some point when a new poster has bad grammar, it just feels like a pile-on for everyone to point it out.

Piggybacking off this, it really rubbed me when MK corrected people for writing Cinquo instead of Cinco and calling the "quo" way really weird.  She then pointed out taht Spanish doesn't even use the quo combination.  I could have been reading it wrong, but I got a "I know all about Spanish and you don't" vibe.  "Quo" isn't that strange.  THere are plenty of other languages that use it as the same sound as "co" so I can see how it got easily confused.

Yeah, this. What really got me was where she said (or implied? I forget exactly) that people just need to have some self control and get over their addictions. What about, say, a food addiction? It's not like you can just stop eating food.
  • Totally hopping on the Zulu flame.  That sig is so annoying.  It made me feel stabby too.  I think that's what set off my annoyance this morning and then the others just added to it.

Plus, her CN was longer than the actual text explaining herself.  Obvi she doesn't know what CN means.

I thought this thread would point out how ironic it is that most posters on the ettiqutte board lack any sense of social grace. Oh well.
