  • Gah, I'm sorry about all the people I missed!

Btw J&K, you're right, I don't always say what I think. Usually it's just because it'd be petty and I don't really care enough to warrant the potential outbreak, but you are correct. 5 points to you.

  • Not in law school, but I'm a lawyer.  I was about to suggest Glannon for Civ Pro.  My prof made us buy it, and it was soooo helpful.

But the e&e series is VERY helpful.  haha I am responding for the "state" in a drug conviction appeal for a class. Its not real obviously lol. Its all very fun... all 40 + pages.

<div>Possibly. Depends on how big you want it though, I'm not made of money woman!</div>
  • AllAboutTheBenjamins- Everyone knows someone who looks like AATB.  Seriously though, I have a lot of respect for her.  I think her and Ben have a unique love that's been there most of their lives and not a lot of people have that. Anna.Oskar- Probably one of the most genuinely nice people.  The next series of "The Next Food Network Star" I would like to enter with her.  I think we could have an awesome cooking show.AnySunrise- When I have kids, I hope they grow up to have the same balance of young but mature.Beatles- Seems very sweet, and smart.BecW2Be (Where has she been lately, anyway?)- I love Bec's story of how she met her husband.  She seems like a fun person, and pretty much always brings the awesome.Betrothed123- When I first came around I thought you were a total diick.  It took me awhile to "get" you, now that I do, you actually remind me a lot of my sister.Blueeyed- Another awesome conservativeCew515- Of course she's funny, but I mostly think of cew as a mom.  The way she talks about Ben/family is great.  I think she's going to be one of those moms that has a great family relationship for life.  I think Ben will grow up to have a tremendous amount of respect for her. CupcakesFrosting- I like you, you just kind of fit right in.J&K numbers (I know you kind of already told us about her, but tell us again/more)- You're the first poster that I remember really liking.  I think you're pretty bad ass, and I wish you'd come around more.JenGin74- I really like Jen, she's just awesome all the way around.  The pic of her and her H is so cute and just looks like happiness.  I wish the best for you ;)Kat Eye/Mica (okay she's not a reg, but give us your opinion on her anyway)- DoucheLedZepplin- I don't really see you around much, but I think I remember that you're a pretty awesome artist.LesPaul- Amazing, all the way around. LessThanZero- HystericalMaratea- Bad Ass and funnyMeaghanandMichael- Funny and beautiful.  Your pics always make me think JCrew or Ann TaylorMissy68- Missy used to bug me, at first I didn't get her either.  Now I think I get her, and I think she's got some awesome stories.NatesGirl- Funny always cracks me up.Nebb- I'm hit or miss with Nebb, she's a tough one to figure out. OhWhyNot- Another good mom!  Also, I think OWN is probably one of the first liberals that has actually made me think "ok you've got a good point, I can see where you're coming from." not enough for me to change my conservative ways ;) but I have mad respect.Raynes- Beautiful, I don't chat with her much, but she has a classic beauty that is stunning.Sarah0725- Smart and very liberal, if I had to pick one person that probably knows everything and could whip Ken Jennings ass, she'd be the one.SarahPLiz- LoveSeshat- Such a sweet person with a warm heart.  I hope that she find all of the success she wants with her writing career.  I can say first hand that she has some amazing talent, and I hope to read many more of her books.StaceyTaylor- Funny, glad she came around.  Brings something interesting to the board.StarMusica- Probably one of the prettiest people ever.  Sweet, and also adds a little bit of a differing opinion to the board (in a good way)Steph087- I don't chat with you too much, but I do like when you speak your mind.Y I Oughtta- Still finding your way, but I think you're going to fit in well.Zippity- (eats babies) The best ever
ETA:KatieWhopmus Sweet, and I wish the very best for her and her H.KD All around awesome.  I can't wait until we gtgNightSprite NS confuses me from time to time, but overall I like her.

  • AllAboutTheBenjamins- Hmmm. Where do I begin?  I think AATB is a sweetheart. I think she loves to have a good time and doesn't take things seriously. I haven't followed a lot of her dress drama because I just don't care about wedding stuff, but I'm glad she got everything worked out. I think that AATB has always handled herself really well in the face of flames and I admire that. I think that AATB has gotten labeled as the sweetheart of SB and she works hard to live up to that. I just hope it doesn't box her in.  Labels are lame.
Anna.Oskar- Anna and I are working on the world record for FB poking. I think we've been poking eachother for almost a year now. I'm pregnant with her baby because of all of the damn poking. One of my first memories of Anna was when she told me I was trying too hard when I first started posting on E. And in true Anna style, she was a sweetheart about it. She was also right. Anna is the type of person that I know that I could turn to with problems.
AnySunrise- Any is wise beyond her years. She seems really fun.
Beatles- Beats is one of the most genuine people that I know. She is so great to talk to about problems because she genuinely listens. She doesn't respond with some BS answer that is more about her than you. She truly cares. I would trust her with anything. Even Ben. :)
BecW2Be (Where has she been lately, anyway?)- My long lost sister in every way possible. The most amazing story teller and a true friend. I can't wait to spend some Thanksgiving time with her next week.
Betrothed123- Truly intriguing. I think that B was one of my first real friends on TK. She gets me. I like to think that I get her and that makes me feel honored. She is so smart and has a great sense of who she is. She is also an amazing judge of character which is why I'm so proud to be her friend.
Blueeyed- So much fun. I would love to just go out with Blue one good time. I don't know that I could handle much more, but wow, we would have a blast. I love that blue says what she thinks and doesn't feel the need to go along with the majority. I admire that because I don't know a lot of people that have balls like that.
    Cew515- BARF
CupcakesFrosting- We haven't had  much interaction, but I think she's a sweetheart with a good sense of humor. She also takes things in stride. I like that.
J&K numbers (I know you kind of already told us about her, but tell us again/more)- The most amazing mom to Handsome Francis. Super smart. Wise beyond her years. My personal counselor and a true friend. Another one that I would trust with my deepest darkest secrets or my stinkbutt. I love her so much.
JenGin74- Genuinely awesome. Great sense of humor and easy to talk to. I get the feeling that she's been upset with me lately because of the Apro and AATB stuff and that makes me sad.
Kat Eye/Mica (okay she's not a reg, but give us your opinion on her anyway)- I missed her coming out thread, but way lame. Way way way lame.
LedZepplin- Absolutely adorable. Super funny. She reminds me of the people that I hang out with. I think that we could become really awesome friends.
LesPaul-  Levelheaded and wise. Gorgeous too. I've always enjoyed Les. She is just so grounded.
LessThanZero- Surprisingly hilarious. One of my new favorites.
Maratea- I like Mara, but sometimes I get a weird vibe. Not sure what it is. I think she doubts herself too much because she's awesome.
MeaghanandMichael- Hot biitch. I want to hang out with her IRL. She thought I was lame when I first started posting but she gave me another chance and I love her for it. She's a true friend and I so appreciate having her in my life.
Missy68- One of my very first TK friends. Missy is so caring. We have tons in common and I've have seen her grow into this sassy beotch that isn't afraid to say what she thinks. I love it!
NatesGirl- Honest. Not afraid to bring the sass or go against the old regs. I love that.
Nebb- The most amazing, dry sense of humor on TK. My very first TK friend. Nebb gets me and I love her. Nebb really does know some of my deepest dark secrets because she is a great listener. I miss our deep email convos.
OhWhyNot- So smart. Wonderful mom. Awesome person all around. When she posts, I always wish that I could be as eloquent as she is. I worry that she thinks I'm a dufus or a biitch becuase I really do care about whether or not she likes me. :)
Raynes- I haven't had a ton of interaction with Raynes, but I think she is awesome. She's smart and says what she is thinking.
Sarah0725- I want to have sex with her brain while riding a dishwasher through funkytown. Her fishsticks tastes like liquid gold and I love her for it. No one throws a better camelriding party.
SarahPLiz- Honest. Not afraid to go against the grain. Doesn't hold grudges. Super funny and quick witted.
Seshat- Sweet and even tempered. Always has something nice to say. Truly talented and gorgeous.
StaceyTaylor- Sweet and cute. I like Stacey.
StarMusica- Breathtakingly gorgeous. Super smart. Seems like a great conversationalist.
Steph087- Sassiest of all of the new regs. She's never been scared to go against the old regs and I really like that. Funny as hell and just all around adorable.
Y I Oughtta- Jury is still out, but I'm leaning towards like. She takes feedback well.
Zippity- (eats babies) - Should write a book or be on a morning show. I would like for Zip to join me on my Space Cowboy mission. Sometimes I feel like she's a little guarded and uses her funnies to keep people at a distance, but hey. That's her perogative and as long as I get the benefit of the funnies, I'm cool with it.

    ETA:
KatieWhopmus- Genuinely sweet and caring. Personable and loveable. I want to hug katie big time.
KD - One of the first SB posters that I fell in love with. Hot as hell and funny too.
NightSprite - So adorable. And hilariously random. I get the sense that she's upset with me lately. Maybe because I've called her out on some of her random threads, but I hope she knows that I still think she's awesome.

Sorry.  Hopefully it will help if you like the work you're doing.  I was in a practice area that I hated for the past year and half so that was torture.  There are aspects of it that I like, but the hours are brutal sometimes.  I've been lucky for the past week or so though.

I agree.  That's why I decided not to go to law school.  Unfortunately, for the time being I am still stuck working here as the office administrator.    I'm at least lucky that my boss appreciates me and cares about me and we manage to have a pretty good working relationship despite her being prone to emotional outbursts and venting.

I don't recommend plaintiff antitrust law, by the way.  Other than a very few isolated attorneys, I don't have many nice things to say about the plaintiff's bar, too many of them are egotistical money-hungry dickholes.  It's so sad to me that the defense attorneys seem to have more integrity and work ethics most of the time.

  • I do general corporate work, but it was specifically securities law that I was doing that I hated.  It was basically bond deal after bond deal with an equity offering thrown in.  I just hated the work, and I don't really like working with investment bankers.  I'm back doing more contract work, M&A, finance now so at least it's not securities.

I agree that valuing money and having an ego aren't necessarily bad.  It's just that some of these people act like they are the ONLY LAWYER IN THE ROOM (my boss's phrase, btw).  Since these cases are huge class actions, there's a lot of politicking between firms about who supports who for lead counsel in which case.  Lead counsel = WIN because they control the work, so they control the money.

Really, it feels like a giant penis contest a lot of the time and after working here for almost 5 years it's just starting to get old.  Also, my boss's attitudes are probably rubbing off on me.   I don't know, it just seems like sometimes I feel ashamed to be a part of this profession since some of these folks (at other firms, mind you) are the kind of people who give lawyers a bad rep.

How funny, our LA office specializes in securities litigation.  Thankfully we don't do that here in SF but sometimes the antitrust stuff can be frustrating too.

I hear securities litigation is a pain too.  I'm on the corporate side though so I work on the deals before the lawsuits happen.  Haha.

[QUOTE]. LedZepplin- Absolutely adorable. Super funny. She reminds me of the people that I hang out with. I think that we could become really awesome friends.

[QUOTE]It's ok, Cew, a whole slew of 'em didn't write a darn thing for me either.  I maintain that it's because they can't possibly bear to say something nice, but they're too scared to call me a raging bitch ;)

I'm not scared to call you a raging bitch.  :)   It's the fact that you have a raging bitch ability you can tap into that would make me definitely want you in my corner in case this place ever goes to hell in a handbasket.   You speak your mind.  I totally respect that.
