Saturday Morning

How goes it?  I'm at work, I've been here an hour already.  So fun, let me tell you.  :)  I had to be super early b/c J's dance recital is this afternoon, then we're going out to dinner for T's birthday.  Tomorrow I'll be here probably just as early.  I so can't wait for Friday to get here, but I love it all the same.

How was everyones Friday night?  Anything fun happen?  T cooked burgers on his new grill, I'm sort of in love with it.

  • Morning Stacks. Congrats to Mr. Stacks on winning the contest. I'm getting ready to go to the gym before I go out to breakfast with my family.

  • Morning!

FI & I fell asleep at 10 AM - we are obviously heavy parties. We both have to work today though but atleast we both finish around 4.

No plans tonight either, haha, probably just sit at home watching netflix.

    Good morning!

Stacks, I was going to ask if your hubs won the contest and I see that he did.  Awesome!

I'm doing laundry today and a bit of gardening, my corn is done producing so I'm taking the bed down and prepping the soil for another batch, which I will plant later this month.

Pork roast for sups tonight, I just have to figure out how I want to do it.

    Edt: spelling
  • good morning!  I'm up too early for not having to be at work.  Oh well.  Took the dogs on a walk already, it's supposed to be in the 90s today, so Beefy won't want to go out later.  I really have no plans for the day, which means i need to clean my house.

  • Morning all.  I'm relaxing this morning, then going to a friend's house for dinner and sewing later this afternoon.

    Enjoy the new grill, Stacks!

  •  I'm a lurker, but good morning all! :)
** I don't believe that old cliche that good things come to those who wait. I think good things come to those who want something so bad they can't sit still **
  • I'm frustrated. The gym is closed since the girl is sick. I would have slept in more or worked out at home if I had known. There isn't time for that now and knowing myself I won't want to do it later. Sigh.

  • Lizzy -- a little, thanks for asking!  My lungs are feeling better, unfortunately my sinuses have decided to suck today.  But hopefully this is the beginning of the end.

  • Stacks that is so awesome about the grill. I'm so glad Home Deopt messed up our registry lol.  Getting $250 towards our grill was awesome.

I'm a loser, up at 7:00 already on a Saturday morning.  FBIL and his wife and son stayed here last night, but I'm the only one up at this point. Contemplating going on a run before everyone wakes up.

I had an RSVP come back from my aunt, uncle and cousins about a month ago with an extra person on it. They often have exchange students living with them so I didn't think anything of it.  Found out eventually that it was my 16 year old cousin's boyfriend of two weeks that they added without even asking.  B/c we had more no's than we anticipated, we just let it go.  I sent the numbers into the venue this past week.  Well, little cousin emails me last night "Oh, just wanted to let you know that the guest we added to the RSVP is no longer coming".  Um gee thanks for telling me that your uninvited guest is now being removed AFTER it is too late and I am paying for them. Blegh.

  • Morning. I have been promised a trip to the water park, which I love. It doesn't open for a while, but I want to go jump on the bed and wake up H. I would like to be the first one down the slide.
  • Sounds fun Special. I haven't been to a water park since hs. I should fix that.

  • Morning.  H got called into work early this morning, even though his brother is the one on call, so I'm a little annoyed by that.  If he's not back in time to leave for yoga it's going to throw off the whole day.  We've decided not to go to the movie theater here anymore.  The people at our theater are assholes (FYI, Petal).  A whole row of kids had to be escorted out, and some woman was threatening to kick my ass because I told her to get off her cell phone.  I go to the movies maybe once a year, thanks for ruining that, assholes.  Dinner was nice, though.

  • Sucks Adamar. I try not to go there because it seems like the hang out for teenagers most of the time. I would rather drive a little bit to one of the others. I get so irritated by people at movies.

Sorry your movie was ruined! I hate going to the movies because of the rude people. Whatever happened to common courtesy?
  • They had cops taking tickets and telling you what theater to go to.  That should have been my first clue.

  • Oh man adamar, that doesn't sound fun.  It floors me what people find acceptable nowadays.
  • Morning all, yay for Saturday.  We are on the boat this weekend in the 1000 islands.  Have some wedding tasks to accomplish this weekend, mostly confirmation of stuff, walk to the town docks and see the offshore power boats take off for the poker run, and then tonight go to the next town down and listen to my favorite band and look at the tall ships.  Yep, it is all about boats, boats, boats this weekend.

Stacks, thanks for sharing the radio station feed with us yesterday, it was fun to hear T win.  He was so gracious in his acceptance speech.

Bay feel better, you have been down and out for too long.

Chels, not long now, are you walking around with the same goofy grin I am?  That is goofy grin, mixed with moments of panic that we may have forgotten something?

Petals, take that frustration and power walk, go to the place you are having breakfast and walk hard and fast away from the place, then turn around and go back.  You will be a little sweaty at breakfast, but you will have your workout done.  Check.

Special, I wanna go with you.  I love a water park!

    o.Oy, that is crazy!!!!
  • Hi Lizzy, not sure we have talked before.  Tell me something about you.
  • Good morning!

My MIL told me that I don't have to cook for tomorrow.  Thank goodness.  I feel a little guilty, but not really.  As the only woman in the family who works full time, I think I have the right to ask for advance notice if I'm to prepare food for 12.

I would like to work on the garden and the pool, and if we're feeling ambitious, we need to buy the water softener and start shopping for a dishwasher too.
  • Mica, sometimes it is hard to not feel guilty over that kind of stuff.   Enjoy your day tomorrow with your family.  That is the best.

I adit that I had to Google 1000 Islands! Wow! Pretty! Question. Since the islands run into Canadian waters, if you want to disembark on one of those islands, do you need a passport? How does that work?

Yes, it is beautiful.  You can cross into the Canadian waters without a passport, but you can not drop anchor, stop your boat, or swim.  If you want to go to one of the islands, drop anchor and swim, or go to dinner, you need to go through a checkpoint with your passport, and or nexus card.  The nexus card can be used by phone which is much easier.
  • Good morning! We are waking up to tackle our day of travel. Leaving Comphy 70 degrees in CT and bound for the exciting humidity and 100 degree weather of Florida! This stupid sore throat has got to go, though. Looks like a day of tea with honey and lemon in travel mugs for me.

  • So my BIL and SIL are expecting at the end of December.  I am really hoping the ILs stay with them when they come up to visit for Christmas this year.  H will certainly not be home anytime before 10pm since it's busy season for the dealership, and I am so uncomfortable being alone with them.  I have a feeling my SIL will not allow that to happen though...

  • Man, H's ex-girlfriend just lost a bunch of weight and I was all excited that we could talk weight loss stuff, but then I realized she's doing the appetite suppressants and b-12 shots.  Lame.

  • Ski that sounds like a pain. But fun. Stacks what dance does J do? I used to take dance lessons at a recital school and loved recital days! I took ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop and one year of tap; then I moved to other dance schools to work on choreography classes. Good luck to her today!
