Eagles I agree with J not to stress too much on the playlist because part of hiring a good DJ is that they can play the crowd.  The only thing we told our DJ outright not to play with any Village People.  Then things like Macarena, Chicken Dance, and stuff was only if someone requested it.  I do like the Electric Slide and Cha Cha Slide though so i was fine with those.

My favorite song from our wedding was Enrique Iglesias "I Like It," but it was like brand new and our DJ didn't have it.  We heard it like 5 times in the limo though so we were dancing quite a bit.  And there may or may not be pics of me walking while singing and dancing it.

  • Top loader, and I do the same thing.  Well, I let it fill up about halfway before I put clothes in.  So maybe just throw it in right before I put the clothes in.  Got it.  I will try that.

  • We picked out our ENTIRE music playlist for the night...and the dj still missed stuff on our list, and added some of his own picks (grrr)...

But, ya Eags...just think of a few you want to hear, and those you absolutely don't want to hear.
  • J&K, yes just throw it in with the regular detergent. I use it on younger (14) DD's dance clothes. Ewww. Petite flower that she is, she sure can sweat like an I-don't-even-know-what.

Jalapeno jelly rocks, especially on brie. Or cream cheese it you don't want to splurge for the brie. I give it out for Christmas to the neighbors. We just built a new house and one neighbor in the old 'hood was like,'Sorry to see ya go. Ummm, do I still get my pepper jelly?'  LOL. He's so funny. He might get two jars this year.

<div>Why would you plan out the entire playlist?  Honestly, this sounds way too controlling of the wedding for me.  What if guests wanted to requets songs?  </div>

  • Jalapenos make me cry. Almost literally. I'm too whimpy for them. This apple salsa is almost too much for me. But it's SOOOO good. I have to keep myself from eating too much because I want to put it on some pork chops at some point.
  • That kind of happened to me Eagles. My mom also requested Hank Williams Jambalaya. I was like "What the eff is this?"
  • Willy, is that you in your sig pic?  You do NOT look old enough to have a 14 year old, especially if she is your youngest!  And I mean that literally--as in, you do not look old enough for it to be biologically possible for you to have ever birthed a teenager.

Damn it's hard tonight, I don't want to work.

</div><div>We didn't allow requests :)  Honestly H and I are both music nuts...I was a dj for a while, was a concert photographer for a magazine for a while, and worked at a concert venue for like 7 years....music is what first brought H and I together.  Our cd collection alone (not counting digital downloads) is around 3,000.  </div><div>
</div><div>We picked music that would fit with all our guests, and songs that meant a lot to us.  We had a mix of 50s/60s/70s/80s/ and current music...</div><div>
</div><div>We actually looked for djs saying "we will pick the entire playlist, and will give you copies of anything you don't have, will that be a problem for you?"</div>

Hi ladies! I'm glad I'm not the only one that was lazy today. The most productive thing I did was walk the dog.

I'm constantly afraid that the company is going to block a few message boards, and now TK, in addition to FB and other fun sites.

Since I only get online from corporate machines (I'm too lazy to turn on my personal machine if I know I'm working anyhow, I'll just surf on the laptop before I log into the system) it would really suck.

This coming week is month end. It will suck, as it always does. And, I have to leave early Tuesday for the cat and Thursday for an attorney appointment for our pre-nup/post nup. At least I can work from home for my OT.

I assume that's your H in your pic (and I totally meant avatar and not sig, but clearly you figured it out)?  He definitely doesn't look old enough to have a 25 year old.  You guys both have some excellent genes!   Or take excellent care of yourself.

  • Hi.  TK ate my post.

3.7 mile hike this morning - blah blah

J - what are you reading?  H and I use this soap (http://www.rei.com/product/837238/penguin-sport-wash-laundry-detergent-42-oz) for our hiking/camping/wicking/workout stuff.  It does a good job getting the stink out, and it's fairly natural so you may be able to use it without aggravating your skin.
  • Wow Hockey - I don't know if I could even come up with that many songs. Well, I probably could, but it would take a while.
  • haha we actually had to cut a lot of songs when coming up with the list....I will say it was a lot of fun coming up with the list.  I know it is probably weird to most people, but H and I had so much fun making suggestions, playing things, and dancing around our living room while coming up with it...plus it was the biggest thing H wanted input into.
  • hi all!  i'm trying to get a shitton of stuff listed for sale online.  Other than that, I accomplished a wine tasting today.  I think I've talked H into a vacation in nov or dec.  I initially wanted to go to Hawaii, but the cheaper mile dates just don't work.  So we might do Beliza or Costa Rica.

</div><div>We do take pretty good care of ourselves, and are blessed with great genes. My mom died at 74 but she only had tiny little lines around her eyes. Her skin was incredible.  I've put on some weight since that pic, but it's coming back off nicely. </div><div>

  • I think I'm really lucky that John is taking over most of the hands on stuff for the wedding. He's much better at it (graphic design background) and he works about 30 hours a week.

However, he informed me I cannot be a control freak about what we have. That I'll have to be happy with what he decides on. Or I have to do it myself with his input, but no help. LOL Nah... I'm not a control freak at all...

I think DD/FSIL is just going to do a DNP and Please Play list for their dance, plus specific songs for the special dances.

  • I was so laid back when it came to my reception. Several family members showed up the day of to help set up. I took out all the decorations I had and was basically like "So yeah, we can just do whatever works with these".

One of my favorite non-pro pictures is of what I call my fluffly garland assembly line. I thought it would be so much easier to do, but they each had several puffs on them that needed to be individually fluffed. I told everyone not to worry about it because it was too much trouble but a bunch of the guys sat at one of the tables and fluffed all my strands of garland. It was pretty amusing.
