Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Re: Lazy Sunday Afternoon

  • Yeah, there are a lot of us around this time aren't there Musu? Glad to hear you had a good day. I didn't leave the house. It was 104 again today.
  • I'm going to go wake H up and see if he's ready to go get dinner.  I'm hungry.  I'll probably be back later.
  • Yeah its definitely that time of year. We've got Ski in a few days too, and a few others coming up I think...Eags is in like a month?

  • Ugh I do not like the sticky weather. I don't mind the heat, honestly, but the sticky feeling makes me feel gross.
  • I like the humidity because it makes taking a dip in the pool that much more refreshing. :)

    <div>I know! It's so exciting!! </div>
  • Very exciting. Also, Angel -- We will all really look forward to your wedding because it will be a nice refresher after a few months of deadness. :) I was like the a little blip in winter season haha.

  • Poke, strawberry is the best! And I will definitely AW a few pics when I get them back. I wanted to post some pics of my new skinny jeans tonight because I haven't decided if I want to keep them, but it might be too late when I get home.

MuSu, that works out well because I'm a huge AW and I'll enjoy all the attention being on me ;)

  • I like winter weddings. I wouldn't have minded one, but it didn't work out.
  • I loved looking at your wedding pics Musu. It was so beautiful.
  • evening ladies.  My whole day was pretty much taken up by SILs baby shower - I left my house at 9:30 and got home just before 6.  long day.  not that her shower was long, but the set up, clean up, i had most of their stuff packed up in my car so i couldn't leave til they did.  we had a big storm come through, so my brother's wet pickup didn't see wise.  now i have a headache.
if anyone was around when I was asking about how much champagne/oj to bring - i brought 6 of each, and came home with 2 of each.

  • Hi everyone!  I also have laundry going.  I need to bake some cookies tonight and fix the hem on my interview skirt.

I had an interview this past week for one job (which kinda interests me even though the pay sucks), an interview this week for a job I don't think I'm totally in love with (but it's 2 pay grades higher than the one I interviewed for last week), and potentially an interview coming up soon for a 3rd job (same pay grade as the 1st job, but it's in the department I would've gotten my Master's in had I not left the area 8 years ago).

I'm kind of hoping that an offer for any of them doesn't come in for at least another week and a half so I can do some of the travelling I want to this month.
  • KJB, better too much than too little, right?
  • Thanks Poke! I never imagined having a winter wedding but that is just how it worked out with schedules and I actually fell in love with it in the end.

Good luck on the job hunt, steelz! And I hope you can keep traveling a bit too. ;)

  • Muni! Have you watched Breaking Pointe yet? I actually kinda started to like Allison a bit more now. I feel bad because I think she is just SUPER hard on herself.

  • oh yes, extra champagne will never go to waste in this house.

<div>I'm a huge fan of wintertime and Christmas and what not. I'm thinking for my next wedding I might try to do a wintery wedding. It'd have to be in the mountains though because central and eastern NC don't do 'wintery'.</div>

<div>eh, I still don't like her.  She does this to herself, and if she hadn't been bitchy to the conductor, I bet her tempos would be juuuuuust fine.  But I don't want to smack her upside the head any longer.  </div><div>
</div><div>I find beckanne hilarious. Everyone else is going nuts and she's cool as a cucumber wondering why they're all so worked up.</div>
  • I'm really excited to have a winter wedding... I plan to incorporate a lot of sparkle, and I feel like that can be done in the winter without looking tacky. Luckily, my bridesmaids will keep me from going overboard with it.

Good luck with the job search Strlz!

    Thanks everyone!

I'm going to camp to volunteer next week (like I do every summer), so that won't be an issue.  The issue arises though towards the end of the month.  A friend of mine & her husband run a B&B in Michigan and they open it up to the group we belong to every other summer for a weekend.  It almost always interferes with camp, so I haven't been able to go, but this year it's the last weekend in July, so that's cutting it close.  My sister, BIL, & nephew are coming home the last few days of July/first few days of August and we're planning on a weekday trip to a local amusement park, so if I have to start a new job before then, I won't be able to go.

I didn't have too much sparkle in my wedding. Mainly just on my tits haha.

ETA - My dress had a sparkly top. KUI Poke forgot not everyone might know that.

</div><div>I don't really like her yet but I did feel bad that the conductor still effed her over. I don't think people should be tit for tat on rudeness, though, so he could've been the bigger person after the rehearsal since it reflects poorly on the whole company if she doesn't do her best. Plus I thought her parents were awful. Pushing on her about that John dude, its like GET over it, clearly that is a touchy subject. </div><div>
</div><div>But yeah, Beckanne is adorable. :)</div>

<div>Yeah, but there are people you don't eff with.  Some people have egos and if you are a jerk, they won't bend over backwards to accomodate you, you know?  You KNOW that if you are an ass to that person that they will fucck you over, so why not just be polite in the first place?</div><div>
</div><div>Also, Beckanne is DEFINTELY the person who I'm the most like pre-show.  I don't have rituals or traditions or nerves.  I'm very serious about the things I need to do to prepare, but those things are like, stretching, vocal warm-ups, makeup.  Not kissing my stuffed cow.  And I'm wondering what the eff is wrong with everyone else that they're freaking out or running their lines over and over again and analyzing every little thing or eating particular things or whatever.</div>
  • I just put the 3 year old to bed and I realized I forgot to have her brush her teeth last time I sat. And by I realized, I mean she reminded me. And by I forgot, I mean it didn't occur to me. Clearly I'm still getting used to this whole babysitting at night thing. I kind of like it though... The kids are now in bed and I'm giving myself a pedicure and getting paid for it.

  • Yes!!! Our power is back on and I'm home. It's gonna take awhile to cool back down in here but I'm so happy to be home. I love my IL's, but I'm an introvert and a private person and it's really draining for me to be around people for extended periods of time. I need my space to decompress and rejuvenate.

I'm so relieved to be home and powered up!
  • Yaaaaay for power and not being around people!
