Confessions/I Judge/Un Pop Ops (Come play with meeeee!)

Confession:

I am a horrible FI. Some of you know, my FI had asked a guy to be a GM that I really am not a fan of, only because he treats FI like sh*t and I'm tired of it. FI's BM confronted him about it and said FI needed to kick Douchnozzle GM out (BM is DoucheGM's BFF as well, it was grounded.) After weeks of talking about it, FI decided he's going to dump Douchenozzle GM. It's really hard for FI because that was his best friend for a year and a half and I know just how hard it is to choose to let go of a friend like that. He's afraid Douchenozzle GM is going to punch him when he kicks him out Sunday. I confess that I don't know how to comfort FI during all of this and I haven't been giving him "lovey doveys" lately because I haven't wanted to be all romantical.

I judge people who come, do an intro post, and then say they're going to go back to lurking. WTF. Why introduce yourself if you aren't going to post? That annoys me because I took the time to read your post and ask questions.

I confess that I spent too much money shopping on Monday, but it was soooooooooo worth it.

I don't have an un pop op yet.

You go.

Re: Confessions/I Judge/Un Pop Ops (Come play with meeeee!)

  • I confess I'm not big on posting to online forums. I prefer to read others stories which I find entertaining.

I confess that I HATE it when someone over 25 refers to themselves/SO as BF/GF. WTH? You stopped being a kid a long time ago hopefully.

I confess that I dont have a clue what you're supposed to call your SO when you are over 25 and not married/engaged....

I judge people who start conversations then resort to profanity when they are asked to support their opinions. If we cant have a civil discussion when I disagree with you don't ask me for my honest opinion.

Dont currently have an un pop opionion yet...give me a second Laughing

  • Confession:
I have been the biggest baby waiting to hear about the job.  I was in a min-funk, not wanting to see people or do anything.  I have been back and forth with job search and trying to find a meaningful position that I felt pride in for a long time.  I sometimes put too much stock in perceived success, even though I know my friends wouldn't care/like me less if I wasn't uber successful in my career.

    I Judge:
People who say our political system is corrupt, so I won't participate.  Of course it is corrupt, and the only way to change it is through popular, grass roots movement.  It bugs me that some people only want to be against things and never for something.

    Un Pop Op:
Can't think of anything at the moment.

<div>THIS would be an unpop op. Is it because it sounds childish? What else would you call someone who is your boyfriend? Until I was 15, I thought Significant Other was code word for Gay Lover (I realize how soo totally wrong that is). </div>

<div>Preach it sistah! I loved the latina speaker at the DNC last night who called out half of America when she said "Don't boo. Vote. No protesting. Vote." How the hell are we going to effect change if we don't do the only thing we can about it?</div><div>

It bothered me that H was my BF at 27. I've had a BF (on and off!) since second grade. We need to come up with a better term or phrase for that phase of life. My vote is for a "guyfriend". No longer a boy. And the she is his "ladyfriend" hehe lady friends.
  • I'll play.... although I don't have too much that's exciting

I confess I'm so over my job ATM.... so glad vacation is in a few days.

I confess I love having BF live with me, and that the cats are adjusting so much faster than we expected.

I"ve also got so much going on right now I feel a bit stressed, but it is all good stuff.  There are so many good things coming up and to think of I'm worried I'll forget something, or my luck will turn.

No real unpop op other than I'm so sick of election stuff being posted on FB I just want the election to be over with.

When I told a coworker I got engaged he immediately asked whether "he or she" something or other. I found the question to be so PC, go him and not assuming it was a guy, meanwhile I said "HE. He blahblahblah." (Not as PC of a response...).

<div>Society. I see it all the time in my students. They watch movies and see their friends being "in love" because it's "the grown up thing" to do. They so desperately want to be treated like they're older by their peers and by their parents, but in reality, they're not mentally and physically ready for it. </div><div>
</div><div>I'm not a parent, RWS, but I know when I talk to my students on a very concrete level (ie: Your body isn't ready for this, mentally, emotionally, physically) they're much more willing to wait because they know that they're being smarter than their friends. And saving themselves from unnecessary "heartbreak". </div>

  • I haven't posted from my phone in a long time. Mobile browser, please don't make this too weird. Confession: I totally expected Drew to post a judgment against me when I saw she started this thread. I'm think I may have lost a little of her friendship last night while we were texting about Harry Potter and I got a little worked up over it. UnpopOp: I think American Idol is a better show than The Voice. I've been seeing all the promos for The Voice lately, and I'm finding that I'm just not excited for the new season. I think it's boring and I probably won't watch.
  • I confess this thread is bringing me out of a funk. Thanks lady friends!

I'm think I may have lost a little of her friendship last night while we were texting about Harry Potter and I got a little worked up over it.</strong> UnpopOp: I think American Idol is a better show than The Voice. I've been seeing all the promos for The Voice lately, and I'm finding that I'm just not excited for the new season. I think it's boring and I probably won't watch.

</div><div>Also, I wasn't upset at all, except for the fact that it was 1:30 am and I was arguing about the line up of the Bulgaria National Quidditch team. </div><div>

  • Confession: Even though in general I'm not too upset about the lack of engagement, it bothers me when people who have been together for less time that he's had the ring get engaged. I'm like 'really??' But then I go back to not caring until the next person pops up (and, it seems lately, leaves just as quickly).

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Confessions/I Judge/Un Pop Ops : Society. I see it all the time in my students. They watch movies and see their friends being "in love" because it's "the grown up thing" to do. They so desperately want to be treated like they're older by their peers and by their parents, but in reality, they're not mentally and physically ready for it.  I'm not a parent, RWS, but I know when I talk to my students on a very concrete level (ie: Your body isn't ready for this, mentally, emotionally, physically) they're much more willing to wait because they know that they're being smarter than their friends. And saving themselves from unnecessary "heartbreak".

I agree with all of this.
  • Hahaha! I wasn't upset either, but I was frustrated that I wasn't expressing clearly the point I was trying to make. And then it was like our texts kept crossing in midair. Stupid phones.
  • Dude. These flipping ads at the top of the page are sooo annoying with their EXPAND HUGE AND MESS UP YOUR LIFE-ness.  Go away. If I want your product, I'll click on it. Don't make me accidentally do it just to up your marketing numbers.

Confession: I really love hosting people at my home, but I hate my apartment and it's super ugly, so I have no desire to keep it clean and host people. It's an old place, so I feel like no matter how much I clean, it will always be dirty. Also, no one really knows, except my close friends, that FI and I are living together. I can't invite people over for that reason too.

Confession: Since my dad's great news from the doctor, I haven't made it a priority to see him every week/every other week like I used to. That bugs me about me.

I judge parents who let their kids run around stores. WTFBBQ?? I'll occasionally put my foot out as they run past me to trip them up. And FI will chant "fall, fall, fall" as they run.

  • I confess that even though I know it's not race, it really irks me that several of my friends this year have gotten engaged/married to people they've known for less than 6 months. I was talking to a good friend last night and he's thinking about proposing to a girl he's been dating for 3 1/2 weeks. And now the line "When you know, you know" they've all used to explain this behavoir makes me stabby.

I confess that I'm jealous of Elle and Drew's HP conversation because I would love to discuss anything HP related at 1:30 am or really anytime.

I confess that a FB friend posted this stupidy last night: "watching the Democratic Convention and i don't know if its just the choice of the camera but i am noticing that the convention is made up of mostly minorities.....signs say Arabs for Obama and African American for President.....i am for protection and rights of the minorities in this country but what about the White Judeo-Christians? White Judeo-Christians make up most of America do we have a say? should the rights of the minority over shadow the rights of the majority" And I'm really tempted to post this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XG5UVqDnKM) in response to it but I have to see him this weekend and I don't want to get into a political debate so I don't think I will.

  • Confession: If it was socially appropriate, I would constantly refer to BF as my Gentleman Lover.

Confession: I look at E-rings on etsy purposefully when BF is next to me so I can hint at certaint styles without feeling like Im bombarding him. To be fair, I mostly do it so that I can slowly make sure he gets me something that will be good for my profession, but still. THE SHAME.
