  • Yeah Anna. It's a Missoula thing. They are in their own little smoke filled bubble.

  • I'm from Louisiana. I can deal with humidity, mosquitos, and flooding just fine. I'll take twisters over freezing to death any day!

But everywhere has its pros and cons. He wants to move back because he says the schools are better. He's on year 5 of an engineering degree and says he has 2 years left because he refuses to take classes from dumb professors. He's special.

  • Eh, I went to one of the biggest party schools in VA, so I didn't get to much better lol.
  • I have not heard of this Scott Pilgrim flick. I might have to check it out.

  • You haven't seen the commercials Sarah? It looks awesome :)
  • I love Michael Cera. We just watched "Youth in Revolt." It was fantastic.

<div>No, I usually don't watch TV in real time. Most everything is on TiVo. Maybe I need to start watching commercials so I don't get behind.</div><div>
</div><div>Right now I'm watching one of my favorite shows: Gangland on the HIstory Channel. I have no idea why it fascinates me so much. </div>

  • Gangs as in LA? Gangs as in Mafia?
    image
  • Gangs as in street gangs and motorcycle gangs. Not so much mafia.

But FI just came in and now we are watching a movie called Lebanon, about the Lebanon war, apparently. Its hard to knot and watch, though, because it has subtitles. There are some hot guys..

  • I went from "watching" football to "watching" Scott play SoCom...oh I can hardly contain the excitement.
  • I'm here!  I ate two desserts tonight and it was amazing!
    Photobucket
  • Oooh what'd you have?
  • Oh yum, Shelley! What kind of dessert?

  • Oh my gosh. Turn it off Sarah. Ugh. I would cry.

  • Yeah, I refuse to watch war movies with Scott. He loves to torture himself by watching BlackHawk Down and then proceeds to be angry and sad for the rest of the night. Same with Jarheads.
  • Yeah, I think I'll be going to sleep pretty soon. It supposedly got really good reviews at lots of film festivals, but so did Hurt Locker, and that was one of the most stressful movies I have ever seen. This is very real. Surreal almost.

  • I hate war movies any more. I have lots of friends/family in the military. Hurt Locker almost gave me a panic attack.
    image
  • That's why I hate it when Scott watches them. He's a Marine so he just starts going off at the TV and switches into "they are the enemy" mode.
  • We weren't allowed to watch them when we were younger, because my dad is way f'ed in the head from Vietnam. Now I know exactly why. I would be too.

  • Pyschologically, I just can't imagine being in the military.

One of my cousin's is special ops. He can never say where he is going or when he will be able to check in. Last time he deployed, his wife has just had a baby. She was only two weeks old, and he was supposed to have a few months home. Two weeks later he got deployed and missed the first year of her life. She had no idea who he was when he got back.

  • My dad did 4 tours in Vietnam, starting at age 17, Navy Recon. So basically he was alone in the jungle, hunting and being hunted. When he got back he lived alone in a U-Haul in the woods for a year before he joined the Secret Service.  I don't understand how he functions every day.

Anyone who has any signs of PTSD, for any reason, should not watch this movie.

  • Jas, that's what my bil is going through right now, though he's technically not military. Sil got pregnant when she went to visit him overseas, but he was overseas the entire length of her pregnancy and Scott moved in to help her out. I think he came back for the birth, then had to go back over for another 6 months.
Now he's over again (left when Z was 3 1/2) and won't be back until she's almost 6.

He and sil want to have another kid too. They are both 37 though so with him coming back in 2 years I'm not sure it's going to happen :(
  • Hi guys!! I'm on since I'm feeling a little under the weather.

Can we talk about Teen Mom.  People always rag on Farrah because she has done one or two stupid things.  But I also see her as one of the most devoted mothers to baby Sophia.  She goes to Mommy and me music classes, takes her daughter with her to the library, etc. etc.

What do you think of Amber??
  • Wow, that would be hard for both the kids and the wife. I could not handle that lifestyle.

Sarah- My grandpa was in the Korean war. They didn't believe in PTSD at that point, but boy did he have it. It seems almost unavoidable when you go through that.

  • But he's there by choice, right Katie? I don't know anything about their family dynamic, but having kids and then leaving the country while your spouse cares for them doesn't seem like an environment that needs more kids to be left behind. know what i mean?

  • Aprove! We were just talking about Farrah earlier. It is so sad that Sophia's daddy died. :( I think Farrah shaped up a lot from the first season, but I think her behavior then was in response to the death of her bf. I didn't realize that at the time; I don't think they ever mentioned it in the first season.

  • Amber got mad at Gary while he was trying (albeit half-heartedly) to propose. Those two do not need to be married. Poor Leah is probably so stressed.

No they didn't really mention it.  Do you remember when Farrah's mom hit her while she was pregnant and now the whole situation with her mom and the cops.  Who holds knives in ttheir hands while cops are in your house!!!

And whenever Leah whines or cries they just shove a bottle in her mouth.  That makes me sad as well.
