  • Howdy.

H is pretty sick and cranky tonight. I have a feeling we're both going to bed early tonight.
  • Ah, well, don't expect much from this season Tortis. It kinda sucked. But the finale set up something interesting for next season anyway.

Yaaay you did it right! ;) hehe. Sorry he's sick though. Sounds like there is a lot of that going around.

  • It's a hard habit to break! :)
  • Gah.  I am feeling like the worst wife ever.  I bought H a Maryland football jersey and a thermal coffee mug for Christmas.  He wants both of those things, but normally we spend more on each other than I spent this year, and I can't come up with anything else to get him.

Anyone have any brilliant last-minute gift ideas for husbands/fiances?
  • Good evening!  I do not want to go to work tonight.  I tried to sleep, but I only got about 3 hours of sleep today.  Plus our system that the orders come through on is supposed to be down from 11-7.  I'm sure it will be a clusterfuck.  Only two more overnight shifts though and then no more work until after Christmas!

  • I had a hard time typing H instead of FI too Birdie.

Sorry Meg.  H and I aren't really exchanging this year.  I have an ornament for him, but that's about it.
  • It really doesn't help that H's birthday is about 2 weeks after Christmas.  I think for that, I will get him a nice bottle of Scotch.  Assuming he doesn't get a bunch of it for Christmas, which he probably will.

He is so hard to shop for, and I really wish I could come up with something else to get him.

Hmmm what about those massage slippers, FI practically begged for one cause he's on his feet a lot at work. Also gift cards are awesome, I got a FI a gift card to Home Depot cause money has been tight and he just bought a house that needs loads of repairs.

I'm sure you are not the worst wife ever!

Haha sorry that's what I get for trying to multitask, yes I think it was on a show I used to watch, such a pretty name!

  • MS- SVU is legit one of favorite shows. I have a bad habit of going "you can't do that, that's not allowed" when the attorneys pull their stunts in court, but for the most part, they do a really good job with evidence. My evidence professor used movie scenes to explain a lot of in court evidence and it helped a LOT with getting how you would object.

When I watch SVU with H, he always ends up asking a ton of ridiculous what-ifs about how the legal system works- like intricacies that you probably wouldn't know if you hadn't studied law. And he gets so worked up about like really tiny intricate details that only ever happen on TV, but explaining it to him actually helped me study a lot, haha!

  • I'm sorry I am no help, Meg. I bought H a coffee marker this year. He really wanted us to exchange gifts so I got him something weeks ago. I knew if I waited too long I wouldn't get anything. He isn't easy to shop for either.

<div>I know how the season ended because I am nosy and someone on my fbook said something about the ending being crazy so I looked and know how it ended. I am NOT a good secret keeper. </div><div>
</div><div>But I'm also weird and read EW's weekly recaps of Grey's Anatomy even though I haven't actually liked the show in a few years. I just want to know what happened. And who am I kidding, I read the recaps for a lot of shows I still watch if I missed an episode, even if I'm going to watch it online eventually. I can't pass up a spoiler.</div>

  • My dad wanted new leather gloves this year, so I got him those and a scarf.

  • I think I'm still behind. But that's because there's talk of Dexter and I've never seen the show. I was trying to catch up on drama from earlier.

Jal, I'm so sorry you have to go to work tonight :( That sucks.

I don't watch Dexter but I hate when kids "grow up" like a million years between seasons. Fresh Prince did it with little Nicky, from baby to 5 years old in one summer, and Modern Family is guilty of it recently when Lily went from adorable expressionless baby (which I found hilarious) to too tall little kid with precocious lines that make it seem like she's trying too hard. In one season. Do not get it.

MK, you didn't miss much with the troll. Apparently, she'd already angered the wrong people and was kicked off after doing nothing more than being really really obnoxious and trying to personally insult LC over nonsense.

ETA: Night, Oreo! Have fun with mini-Oreo!

Scotch glasses we have.  Decanter and whiskey stones is brilliant.  Several other suggestions help a lot, too (hello!  DVDs!)  Thanks, ladies!

I loooove SVU too! It isn't the same this season without Stabler though. :( But yeah I totally agree that of course there are things that wouldn't work and obviously most attorneys aren't as aggressive in the courtroom as they are portrayed on tv. But the episode I was just watching tied evidence stuff in as well as some PR stuff I just finished. Kinda cool. :) I'm soooo glad to be done with hearsay. Well, until the Bar anyway.;)

  • Meg- what kind of guy is he? He obviously likes sports, but does he have any other big hobbies?

My H isn't a big sports guy. He likes individual sports like snowboarding, running, and swimming, so I can't get him tickets to sporting events. But concert tickets are always good with him.

Does your H cook at all? My H loves to grill, so he's getting some specialty grilling tools from Sur La Table- a rib rack and a basket for cooking clams and/or veggies.
