Amen, maybe a little solice with the news.
  • And if anything isnt appropriate at this time, I would think it would be the "George Bush sucks because he didnt get Bin Laden and Obama is awesome because he did".  If Bush could have taken him out, he would have.  I dont think this is the time to be comparing who did what.  If we are not allowed to celebrate this as a country, then we certainly shouldnt be allowed to bash former presidents who made the effort to do the same thing.

This wasnt a political win for one side.  This is a win for our country.

I believe that hate was what drove the terrorists in 9/11.
  • Considering the propaganda used is everyday footage, I don't think Americans celebrating in the streets is going to change anything. They're going to attack regardless because they think Americans are disgusting. Extremists anyway. At least nobody is burning flags of other countries.

I think there's a difference between celebrating the murder of someone and celebrating the murder of a person who managed to kill thousands or someone who killed millions. I'm sure family members of those who had a murder victim in their family celebrate when they find out the murderer is being put in prison or whatever.

Attacking our country was a declaration of war.  We took out the enemy.  I dont see the issue.  Its not like we all decided one day "Oh hey, lets take out this Bin Laden guy".  And its not like we could have gone over their and arrested him.  Lets be realistic here.

  • Has anyone seen "The Kingdom"? When both sides at the end say "don't worry we will kill them all"? I don't know why but this all reminded me of that.

I do hope that those who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks are feeling a sense of justice and closure. I just wish that the war would see some closure. I imagine that's when the real relief will be felt.

People are gathering at ground zero. Crying.... let them show pictures of that..... that's an important image to see.
  • Does anyone else remember when they took out Saddam Hussein's sons, and they published the pictures in every glossy magazine in the country? Part of me is wondering if they'll do the same with Bin Laden, and another part is almost certain that they will.
