Goodness guys. People say "ghey" as an insult around here like, every foffing day. Mands didn't mean it differently to that and it's for no other reason than she's laughing at this thread, which to be honest, is kind of rahtarded. How anyone could think, after her being around here what, roughly three years, that she meant it in the way construed. Come on now.
God forbid people do something fun here, just to see how long a thread can go. It's no secret I don't like the two of you, but ffs... who died and made you queens of E?
Alix, I only honestly remember ever seeing you say "ghey." Maybe Lala too? To me that's somehow different because by spelling it differently it seems like you're making fun of the idea that "gay" would be a real insult.
I know a lot of people say "that's so gay" IRL without being homo-hating bigots. I can promise you that I call them on it pretty much every time I hear it because I just think it's offensive (and nonsensical, for that matter). Yes, even if you otherwise love the gays. I take no issue with the fact that Mandy thinks that Fishy being in airport limbo sucks (I agree) and that she thinks continuing this thread sucks, I just take issue with the word used.
You find it amusing and we (and others) find it odd. The same can be said for every other thread on here. This is no different.
It's just ridiculous when people turn into the PC police one day but the rest of the time don't give a schit. Because by all means, if we spell a word correctly but use it in the same context as someone who spells it "cutesy", that must mean we're bashing homosexuals. And I/we are not fighting, this is just ridiculous in the extreme.
Can I change the subject to something happier? EinC, I saw your earlier post. I grew up in Portola Valley. We were just a couple of exits off 280 from each other!
Alix, I don't love "ghey" either. I just sort of ignore it because like I said, it seems a little different and also like something where if I say "don't say gay" it will become "I didn't, I said a silly made up word." And I don't think Mandy is sitting there saying "well since I hate flight cancellations, and I hate gays, I will call Fishy's situation gay!" THAT would be ridiculous of me to say, I agree. I just think it's one of those words that people have started using in a certain way without considering that if you think about it, it's probably not a great way to use that word.
Haha Squirrly, that image made me laugh. There are no squirrels in Chile, so Chileans are fascinated by them. H just thought they were so cool when he first came to see me in the US, and I was sitting there thinking "babe, calm down, they are just fluffy rats."

why did i tell people i would make all this food? especially cake balls. oh well, i'm sure they'll be delicious. especially the coconut bread pudding, yum.
There was a regular size one with it, too. But the fatty took the concept of eating extra to store up for winter WAY TOO FAR. I'm seriously amazed it didn't fall off the fence, and there are a lot of little branches in the trees back there that will for sure not hold it up.
Emily, same with Japan - they only have them in zoos. Our exchange students were fascinated with them. And, the "Q" in squirrel becomes a k, since that's not a sound in Japanese, so when they spotted one and started shouting, it was doubly crazy.
But, but, but. . . they are WAY cuter than fluffy rats. Rat tails are gross. Squirrel tails are awesome. I love how they FREEZE when they see somebody and want to be "invisible".
Emily? HHI is on now (2 day marathon, I think), and they just did an episode in Bali. Now I want to plan a crazy awesome vacation in Bali (or someplace else in that general part of the world). But, it'll have to be for 2016 or something.
Snippy, Boston is just like that. I hate it here, too. Doesn't make me sleepy, but it does curtail any evening activities for me. I especially hate going to the grocery when it's already dark out.
