    My Mom went through a sewing phase, dad went through a weight lifting phase.
    The end product?  Mom made Dad two pair of Hammer pants for working out. Don't try to justify it-it makes no sense.  They've been divorced for 13 years.  Dad still has them.  
    I asked for them for Halloween a few years ago, he refuses to give them up.
