I am with AATB with this- of course it seems obvious but as a reporter, your job is to tell the story and part of telling the story is that soundbite. When I still worked in news I had to reach out to 9-11 victims. Asking them questions was heart wrenching.

Another thing that is really annoying for me on FB is the constant posting of memes. Some of them are really funny, but some of them are just plain stupid. I have a couple of friends who all they do is post memes, and I've hidden their newsfeeds because it is just so damn annoying.

UO - I think it's inappropriate when I see what looks like young girls (late elementary to middle school aged) wearing the Pink clothing line with Pink or Sexy or whatever written across their bums.

PP - Bad breath. In a society where mints and gum are widely available and dental hygiene products can be purchased at the Dollar Store, there is no excuse. Tardiness also ranks right up with this one.

non TKG - The new electronic time clock at work sucks. We used to email an excel sheet logging hours right at the end of each pay period, but not they switched to an online format where you punch in 1x per day for salaried employees. That's cool, but too bad it tells me my time punch has been accepted and yet my managers don't get it. How am I supposed to know if they got it without being completely obnoxious and asking every single day? Urgh.

ok I just read that NBC cut out a tribute in the opening ceremonies to the London Bombing vics and inserted a seacrest interview. First off- WHY IS SEACREST INVOLVED. Second- NBC you offensive jackoffs. Why are we going out of our way to offend the hosting country!??

UO: I hate that NBC hired Ryan Seacrest for Olympics in-studio interviews. I hate everything about him and that he is so damn ubiquitious these days (the new D!ck Clark? Please.)

Pet Peeve: people who can't (or won't) lower their voices when on the phone on a train or bus. I don't need to know every detail of your life, TYVM.

Grievance: the woman next door who parks in the only street spot when she has a damn driveway. I really think she is just doing it now to piss me off because she knows that we have 2 cars (and one driveway spot) and she only has 1 car.

Those are the difficult ones--hiding helps me, but sometimes I'll have someone mutual comment on their stuff and then I see it pop up. Annoying. I hid them for a reason, FB.

BJS--well, I can get crazy, lol. But I think he was just incompetent. He dropped the phone one time during our conversation, so I think it was just a mistake. Still annoying.

DJ, regarding what I said about Pinterest, I mean more like a filter for when I look at the random pins, not people I follow. I un-follow the boards that have the stuff that I don't like, but I wish I could filter the categories (sort of like how I search for shoes on Zappo's) to show all but baby-related or wedding-related stuff.

My H was just telling me about a CW who he FB friends with. He's like, she's a real nice person and very outgoing, but all her postings are those depressing memes like "one day, you'll want the girl you treated so badly" or "how can I still miss you when you treated me so badly? "

He showed me and thats ALL she's posts. He said he was going to hide her because it was depressing, I told him to post one about being a strong woman and not needing this douchecanoe....he said no :(

I am not sure if this is an unpop op, or a peeve, or just a general WTFism, but I am of the opinion that politically leaning talking head shows (Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Maddow, etc) have a massively large hand in the pathetic circus the American political process has become. We can't even listen to each other and have an honest, spirited debate anymore. We automatically discredit an idea if it comes from the opposing party. We only pay attention to words taken out of context, gaffs, lies that go viral online and politicians who talk in bullet points instead of coherent sentences. And I think that is shameful. It's fucking embarrassing and it pisses me off.

My job has made me very, very cynical in this regard.

I agree with Smash about the CFA thing. I've known for a long time their stance and I choose not to eat there. I think it's lame when someone asks me if I research every other business that I give money to. Leave me the eff alone.

UO- I also hated Shades of Gray. I don't think Christian is hot or sexy or whatever most people think about him. I think he is fucked up and I would never want to be in a relationship with someone like him.

Pet Peeve- I can't stand stop lights that don't have sensors. What a waste of time.

Annoyance: I'm so sick of everyone telling me everything about their pregnancies and what I should or shouldn't do. I don't care if your kid or someone you know was born on my due date. I don't care if you know someone named Drew. (I'm talking about unsolicited advice and opinions).

Pet peeve - interviewing people the second they lose. I know it's good for ratings, but give the poor people an hour to compose themselves before throwing a camera in their face. Jordyn is getting such crap for being a poor sport for crying when she lost. She's 17 and her dream just died, wtf do you think she's going to do? All the crap judgement that moms give each other. I'll feed my baby how I chose and you do the same, easy peasy. Unpopular opinion - I think countries who are in debt need to stay out of the Olympic bid. If you were in massive debt would you throw a massive party? Maybe they make up the money in revenue? It still seems excessive.

NonTKG: I hate that NBC has a monopoly on the Olympics. NBC sucks ass, their commentators are shitt, and they are unbelievably America-centric. I get that coverage will be focused on the USA but I'd like to see other athletes too. I'd really just like to steam roll the NBC machine right now.
