Re: unpopular opinions

• Lala, why do you say AP spits in the face of feminism? I really don't know much about it, and I'm curious.

Apparently I have no opinions today, just questions.
• Lala, have you seen Away We Go? There's a part in there that makes fun of attachement parenting and it's effing hilarious.

And I do know some adults who think it's well-written ... and I am totally buying them coloring books for Christmas. Thanks for the LOL.

[QUOTE]dammit, i frequently think of good ones and then forget them when there's actually a thread. i majorly side-eye attachment parenting and extended bf-ing, so i guess xy hates that. i don't know that h nor i is head of our household. we mostly make big decisions together and don't tend to butt heads. i can be a pushy broad though when we disagree. i'm pretty much in charge of decorating the house, since we agreed before moving in together that i would be. and also since i'm paying for everything and put the down payment on the house. but i don't really do anything major without runnning it by him first. for example, i love shabby chic and he hates it. so we compromised and i'm keeping the shabby chic to the guest bedroom.

• I love Victoria's Secret bras. I bought two this weekend bc I had two $10 off cards. Honestly, they fit so amazing I'm even in a better mood. But finding my size is usually a beyotch, unless I want my bras simular to my G-mas. I've never bought any of their clothes and don't intend to, they just seem overpriced for what they are.

I'd say this is more popular than unpopular, but I would donate to a fund that would be presented to whichever NFL player can give Micheal Vick a career ending injury.
Seriously, I think PETA should sponsor taking out a hit on him.

nope, but I did see Baby Mama. the birthing instructor is at total AP believer (NATURAL CHILDBIRTH!!!)
there's a deleted scene where the instructor's son (he looks about 10) comes in and says he's hungry, and she starts breast feeding him. tina fey and amy pohler bug out of there.

[QUOTE]for the record, I totally 100% side-eye attachment parenting. I think it's bad for everyone involved, and is especially hard on the mother. it spits in the face of feminism. and that's just one of the problems I have with it.

lala, before i had my baby i would have agreed with you. but once i had her, i found that it actually made my life much easier. especially co-sleeping - example: the sense where i was recovering from surgery and i was able to get more sleep (and less pain) while i breastfed her in bed.

you seem to have such strong opinions about it, and that's what i'm trying to understand. not just you, but other people too. do you have a child of your own?

i don't go around saying that CIO is the worst thing in the world - it's not for me, but parents are entitled to make the decisions that they think are best for them and their child.

i find the examples you're showing are the extreme cases and obviously there are varying degrees of attachment parenting.
