I must say that this thread kept me entertained all day at work. TThis is the first thread I've ever read every single post on when it was over 3 pages If only I could post while at work, So here it goes.

WTF 2 rings? $70 bottle? BF->BF->1st BF now FI haha, I just want to be accepted b/c I love you guys so much

I only got one ring

I got 3 soft tacos and a Baja Blast from Taco Bell (no seriously thats where we went after he proposed in the hospital parking lot)

Oh and how do get accepted as one of the girls on this board? I thought I could just post where I wanted when I wanted.

Can I also add in the proposal story, she said that he took the other ring back but in one of the posts she's made, she has both rings?

Maybe I'm just weird but my FI could have put a twist tie on my finger and I still would have said yes and I'd be just as happy as I am now. Big rocks = ugly IMO.

ditto krissy....my fi and i have been together for three years been through a bit (relocation, buying a house, adopting a dog, layoffs, medical issues....) BEFORE he popped the question and you know what i love him the same with or without the ring...

BUT i must confess when he gets the goofy grin on his face when he thinks i am not looking checking out the ring he put on my finger - it's kinda infectious. he is proud of the ring he gave me and gets all boyish...it's cute

2 rings?!?! seriously?? oh but the first one is now a regular everyday type ring. So when do you wear the 'better' engagement ring? Not everyday?

It shouldn't matter what kind/type of ring or even if there is a ring involved. Love my FI regardless of the ring.

Well, we're all happy for you, amitrenti, but I don't know if you're quite snarky bride material... (But I haven't given you guys my resume or interview yet, so maybe I'm not either?)

Can we make some sort of maximum exclamation points in a post rule? They hurt my head, because I picture someone jumping up and down and yelling when they're used. (Which is acceptable on occasion.)

I'm sure there's nice "giant rock" e-rings around but the ones I've seen have been ugly. Not ones I've seen people wearing but ones in the store. Maybe they look better on people but they look really weird in the store. Had my FI got me a huge rock - I'd love it all the same. I wouldn't throw a fit and make him go change it because it's not "big enough" or "to my liking".

Twist tie rings look "weird" to me but I would never call them ugly.

Nope. I don't know anyone with a giant e-ring but then again I'm from a small town where people are barely surviving due to no jobs and the city I actually live in right now - I avoid most people because everyone threatens to stab one another. Most people I know and associate myself with are students or broke because of the lack of jobs.

I'm not saying you threw a fit because it wasn't big enough but OP clearly did. I'm sure you have a beautiful ring. I agree - a twist tie would look weird. I was speaking on how he didn't need an expensive ring for me to say yes. It reminds me of that Simpons episode where Homer puts an onion ring on Marge.

This is what I would think is ugly and a tad overdone but that's just my taste. I'm sure someone out there thinks my ring is ugly and so be it. This is what I picture when someone tells me "giant rock". Clearly, not everyone who has a "giant rock" has one this big but that is what I would consider to be an ugly ring.

Where the hell are you from, Compton?

Im just saying that not all girls who got big diamonds asked for them, and most would have been happy with no diamond at all.

And some of us are older and at a more financialy stable place in our lives because of that. If I had gotten engaged before I was 26 I am sure the diamond would have been smaller. FI and I are both out of college and well into our careers.
