Buddy linked to this on his Facebook, I don't think it's been posted today:

Re: Top 10 Annoying Wedding Trends
DED now I must attend a bridal expo.
Blog
I've never seen a photobooth at a wedding. Ever.
Not doing a candy buffet because EVERYONE does them is stupid - most of your guests really won't have seen one before.
Or saying, "We like this song, but we're not using it because eeeeeveryone does."
Seriously, guests don't have wedding fatigue like planning brides do.

Don't be hattin'. ;)
Also -- I heart my birdcage veil.
I have never seen anyone wearing a tiny tophat veil. And that's after visiting a bridal website daily for over a year. I think they made that up.

I HATE the jump and crouching pictures. I made that extremely clear to my photographer. Fortunately they hate them too.
Married!
For me, everything he said about the bird cage veil can also be applied to damask.
I think the butterfly release should have also included doves and goldfish CPs.
Dessert tables would be on my Annoying Wedding Trends list; hell, it's an annoying party trend, period. You don't need a DESSERT table at a ONE YEAR OLD'S BIRTHDAY PARTY!! Unless of course you're grooming them to be a competitive eating champion. (All the party blogs are creaming themselves over dessert tables and cupcake picks right now).

I think I just saw one in the most recent Martha Stuart Weddings issue...
I'm sure some people could maybe pull it off, but again, I feel like most should just skip it.
[QUOTE]I agree with most of them but probably not all. For me, everything he said about the bird cage veil can also be applied to damask.

Dani I agree. Even before I was deep into wedding planning I didn't get the obsession with damask...so overdone.
[QUOTE]Aside from this list, I DO think brides, in general, are waaaaay over the top about what is considered "overdone" or "played out" or trends that are over. Not doing a candy buffet because EVERYONE does them is stupid - most of your guests really won't have seen one before. Or saying, "We like this song, but we're not using it because eeeeeveryone does." Seriously, guests don't have wedding fatigue like planning brides do.

Yeah man, I feel like I've been saying that on these boards for 2 years.
I've never seen a candy buffet or photo booth IRL. Also, my wedding was the first I've ever been to that had a cocktail hour.
It also annoys me when people hate on the unity candle/sand ceremony/etc. You don't like it? Okay, well say it's NMS and move on. You don't have to talk about how stupid it is all the time. Yes, I did a candle, but even if I hadn't, I wouldn't give two shiits if someone else did it.

If wearing a little jaunty chapeau is wrong, I don't want to be right.
