Re: AYG/TK confessions/I Judge

  • I'm sorry. Is there something wrong with drawn out o sounds?

This Minnesoootan takes insult at this conversation, alli. ;)

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: AYG/TK confessions/I Judge : He says  it in a way that drags out the "ooo" sound and makes the 's' at the end sound like a 'z'. It's hard to explain without hearing it.

Hmmm, I might do that too.

[QUOTE]What do you guys call this/ It is clearly a slide. H calls it a "sliding board".

    It's a sliding board. I agree with your H

  • Animal.

And, yeah, I think I need to hear this shooz outloud because I'm reading it how I (and everyone) say it.

  • SLIDE
    POP
    DRINKING FOUNTAIN
    HOTDISH
  • Pop?  Haha. That always cracks me up. Around these parts it's soda
    imageimage
  • we say pop. what is hotdish? just a hot food?

and i'd literally LOL if a little kid said "i want to go down the sliding board"..it sounds so formal and i imagine it in a british accent.

  • You're all wrong. It's a Coke.
  • Wait, drinking fountain is weird?
  • My husband occasionally teases me for saying things too formally, especially since I have an odd accent (Philly/Pittsburgh/Virginia/Ohio/Seattle mish-mosh). I generally say "soft drink" or "sparkling beverage" instead of "soda" or "pop." Also, I usually call popsicles "frozen confections."

    I think I love you.

I have, in the past, been accused of talking like a grandmother.
    imageimage
  • Stupid Wisconsinites call them "bubblers", Kim.

IT IS NOT A SODA. IT IS POP.
  • no no. Water fountain are those things in the parks that you thow pennies into and make a wish.

Hotdish = casserole, but more awesome.
  • Bubblers? OMG that's funny.

When I get home I'm going to tell Tim to give me a bubbler just to see what his reaction will be.
    imageimage
  • Are we still here?

Was I invited?  Or do I have to make this awkward?
    panther
  • I mean, it makes sense.  The water bubbles as it comes out while you're drinking it, but still. It's a drinking fountain.
  • I have a totally different idea of what a bubbler is, and it is not a water fountain.

  • My mom says "gum bands" instead of "rubber bands" which I am pretty sure is a Pittsburgh thing.

And I like calling it "talking like a grandmother" since that totally fits with my husband, who was born an old man. He loves corduroy pants, argyle socks, tomato juice, and pumpernickel bread.
  • Well that took forever to catch up on.....

I agree with Cew, Blue, JenGin etc. about Neely and OBX.  Sorry but I don't like or appreciate OBX's personality.  It comes off as fake and ass-kissy over the internet.  Seriously, making sure someone sees the compliment/comment you posted in a thread and then worried about it being ignored cause Blue didn't say anything back?  Are you kidding me?  I flame OBX in general and then double for her stupid ass response.  OBX I am someone who ignores your posts....so I guess your worries are fulfilled.

Missy you've been very sweet to me what I lost Kaylee but I've got to flame you for this recent stuff.  I think if confrontation on the internet makes you sick to your stomach you shouldn't be on message board site.  Also, if you truly don't like confrontation then you wouldn't act in such a passive aggressive manner as to go over to E to talk behind people's back.

I'm tired of the general whining (I'm clearly not talking about AATB or Ricks).  I don't care about who is a reg, who is ignored, etc.

  • JenGin is correct it is in fact a sliding board and soda is soda.

  • I actually have heard bubbler!  I forgot about it.  My dad says drinking fountain though, so at least some Wisconsinites are not weirdos.

Scott makes fun of me for how I talk in general, too.  I get this weird Wisconsin Boston accent hybrid when I get really animated, I say bagel funny, I tend to put swear words where they don't belong etc.
  • Kim- where in WI is your dad from? It's usually only the Madison/Milwaukee/SE WI people who talk crazylike.

Bubbler gets used out here in Boston sometimes.

i won't get into the EDIT sub/hero/grinder/hoagie controversy. It can get pretty nasty out here.
