I really like the lacy layered dress. The one I think you said you thought was the one. I think its beautiful!

I like the first one.  And congrats on the weight loss.  That's a big accomplishment (I'm of course assuming you did it in a healthy way).

I don't even have the time or patience in my life to get into this with you. I have NEVER in my life been a perfect size anything. That's why I told her she was hilarious and immediately took the dress off. I didn't pose for the picture, I didn't ask for it to be taken. It's not some passive aggressive anything. Trust me I don't have any reason to be passive aggressive.... I felt good about myself and I said "perfect size four" in quotes because thats what the lady said and then I laughed in her face.

Yes you're right EVERYONE was fanning over me in both stores - they just couldn't stop staring. *rolls eyes* I thought it was weird and funny. That's all. You don't like what I say, cool, just leave me alone. Good god. You only "hear" what you choose to read and there was no need to respond if it bothered you that damn much.

Loopy - I do love that one. Ah, it just keeps calling to me, lol. My mom is going to say absolutely not to it though but in the end the decision will be mine. lol.

Goldie - The first one huh? I didn't know about straps, I have weird shoulders but it is gorgeous. Thank you about the weight loss - I dropped weight when I got on medication for my Bipolar disorder and I've kept it off by gym time and trying to eat right as much as I can.

I appreciate you both for your replies!

If you didn't believe her, you wouldn't have "almost peed yourself with joy."

You're making it out to sound like you are the only size four that has ever graced the store's presence.  Did they put palm leaves at your feet for you to walk over?

I read exactly what you write.  You're the one trying to switch it up.

    Whatever, I'm done with this.

No I'm not the only size 4, I almost peed myself with joy because I have never been this size and my last dress was a 12. Sorry but in my mind (FOR ME) size does matter.

Ugh. I am done with you and all your snide comments on anything I write. Just quit it and leave me alone if i bother you that much.

I wasn't going to comment on this but since it came up again...

You really shouln't worry about size.  I understand having body image issues and I know that's it can be hard to not focus on a number, but you really should try.  The number means absolutely nothing.  At David's Bridal, I was a very small size but when I got measured for a designer dress I was FOUR sizes bigger.   Did I gain weight?  No.  Did my body look worse in the designer dress?  No.  It's just that every clothing line assigns their sizes differently.  You can't base how you feel about yourself on a number.  Instead, focus on the fact that you know you lost weight (in a healthy way hopefully) and that you FEEL better.

LOL - I;m done arguing, I just took myself out of it and realized you're all right! Size doesn't really matter - I try to force myself to believe that but yes stores do mess with us on purpose. I hate that!

Size doesn't matter, women's sizes vary way too much. I think rubbing in the size sounds snobby, especially to those of us who will never be a size 4, even at a healthy weight. Most women have SOME body image issues. It sucks, but that's how we're conditioned by society and media.

However, I do think every girl deserves at LEAST "5 minutes of happiness" to feel beautiful when shopping for a wedding gown. I'm glad you had a great time and felt beautiful.

I think you should get a dress that makes you feel gorgeous. Even if you're a little over-dressed, as long as you're comfortable and feel beautiful it's all good. My mom told me "the bride is SUPPOSED to be the best-dressed person at the wedding... so what if she's over-dressed? She sets the bar."

That helped me relax about choosing my dress. I hope it helps you. Just don't go TOO over-the-top lol.

    KD you look incredible!
  • edited December 2011
Thank you ladies for bringing me back down to earth and as you can see I edited my original post.

KD- you look GORGEOUS and I love that dress on you. It fits perfectly.

Desertsun- you rocked the dress better than I could of anyway - it fell oddly on me but you looked beautiful

Oceana - You also look amazing - no need for the boo-yah I felt great in my size 12 gown before, too.

Size doesn't matter anywhere but in my own mind.

Jeana, you're right - it was snobby to sound like i was rubbing it in. I know I would be like "ugh" if someone else posted it that way. Mainly, I was internally talking to myself and just wrote what I was thinking. I was excited and happy for the first time in awhile and if size did that for me then so be it. I was NOT judging anyone else - if you can't tell I'm judging myself for a lot more reasons than just "body image issues". We have have our own cross to bare it; mine just so happens to be weight and looks related. OCD is a real bitch.

This was me around the time I bought my last dress (graduation of '07) I believe this dress was a size 10 but it ripped when I put it on. LOL. My boobs were enormous here. :)

Thank you for ALL the comments and for helping me narrow it down on some of the dresses and consider new ones, too.

Sorry for coming in late.  I like the first one the best.  In my opinion, I would go for something that's a little bit more fitted through the midsection and not as flowy.  You have the body to pull it off, so show it off!

As for the little argument, I don't think you were trying to be a snot at all.  You felt good you fit into a size 4 and hell, if I went from a size 12 to a 4, I'd be shouting it from the rooftops!  It was a personal achievement you were sharing with us, not an attack on the over size 4 crowd.

Honestly, I'm a size 8 or 10 or 12 now.  Depending on the store, depending on the pant.  I've lost 12 pounds this summer through hard work:  exercise and diet.  And I'm really proud of myself.  I feel so much better, and yeah, it's nice not to see as much flab in the mirror.  But I would never cut down a thin girl because she's proud of her body/size.  My life long best friend is TINY.  Our whole lives she was TINY with ENORMOUS boobs.  She's 5'3'', just broke 100 pounds, wears an F size bra, and a 00 in pants.  She gets so much shiit from other women because of it...and I think that's sad.  I know that I could not eat another day in my life and I won't look like her, but I'm ok with that.  She's not a fair standard to hold myself to.  So, I celebrate my own body achievements and accept that there will always be someone out there with bigger boobs, a prettier face, a more ripped midsection, etc.

    Love2shop,

Thank you for saying all that, it made me feel like less of a bitch, lol.

I also like number 1 a lot. The weird straps bother me I think and I wish it was just a sweetheart neckline with the rest being the same. I'm just too out of it and too picky to be shopping or posting. lol.

If you already lost 12 pounds this summer , damn good job lady! You do your thing and work it. You should want to look healthy and curvy and all those things. And yes not seeing so much flab in the mirror is nice. Trust me I have it too!

I'm sorry for your friend because I can imagine that must suck. I had DD boobs back when that pic was taken and I'm 5'2. No matter what I did I got so much crap for big boobs and "being small". I wanted a breast reduction so bad I tried to get my insurance to pay for it. I hope your friend doesn't let it get to her. Everyone is made differently and god knows stores know how to make us all feel like shiit from time to time. Why am I a 3 here and 7 somewhere else?

You said it best about celebrating your own achievements; which you've clearly worked hard on!  I didn't want to hurt anyone with my post but I realize I did - I was just happy with myself for about 2 seconds and then I went back to obsessing over my weight again. LOL.

:) thank you for the comments tho, love!

I missed some dramz here.  That's what happens when I go to bed early...

I like the last dress the best but I also like Ana's suggestions.

Oceana, KD & Desert are smokin' in their dresses;)

PS: I'm a size 20/22 and I'm totally cool with that.  I lurves my curves (not necessarily the ones near my tummy) and embrace them.

    That is all.
