Re: Good Morning!!!

• In Response to Re:Good Morning!!!:
See, I can't wrap my head around having a sibling. You can't miss what you've never had, and I never even wanted a brother or sister growing up. I'm surprised I'm an only, though my dad's got 14 siblings and my mom's got 11. Then again, maybe they just wanted a quiet house for once in their lives. ;I've just seen so many siblings who would drink the glass of water rather than pour it on their brother/sister if they were on fire, that I can't justify having another baby just so sentilde;or squash in there has a friend later in life. That, and I know I had way more opportunities growing up because there was only one of me and not two or three. I got to do things that my friends couldn't, because their parents couldn't afford to pay for all of their kids to go or whatever. Not that those experiences are any more rewarding than having a sibling, but to me, I feel like I was equally enriched, just in other ways. Posted by september's bride
A lot of this is true. I think some of my hate for my brother when I was little comes from being the first born. My parents didn't always know what to do with me when certain things happened, but by the time that stuff rolled around for my brother, they handled it much better. Also, I didn't get to go to outdoor Ed in middle school because we couldn't afford it, but my brother did. Maybe I'm still a little bitter about that, lol, but I've for the most part moved on. I hope things work out for your h and his brother!

• My sisters are my best friends. Sure they were horrible PITAs growing up and we had big fights but we always got over it. I asked for a brother for Christmas like every year until I was 14. Though I could imagine if I had more than 2 siblings I would hate at least 1 of them.

This is silly, but I'm a little bitter I didn't get a BIL out of getting married lol. My mom and dad are all like "OHHH WE FINALLY HAVE A SON!" and my sisters are like "Hoooray we have a brother finally!" and I'm just like, cool I picked up another sister (and I do like her) but a brother would have been awesome too.

• Hey, congrats on your wedding, Acap! Your sig is beautiful.
• I agree Sept, I think because there was 9 of us, even if most were older and didnt live at home, I didnt want a house full of kids. As soon as my son was born I got my tubes tied.

I just didnt have the energy for more.

• I don't have the energy for even one today. I'm eating an apple fritter and hoping for a sugar boost.

I thought I was happy that there was nobody here...now it's too damn quiet and the hum of the air system and my computer are making me fall asleep.
• Will anyone be seeing Brave this weekend? I really want to... And I really want her hair! It's glorious! My hair is flat flat flat.

• JCB- It was you that had success with the spray tan, no?  Do you know what brand they/you used?  I'm looking into a place that uses Fake Bake.

Good gosh why so often? We have 3 adults in my house and only run it twice, max.
• Nebb-  I think we run ours every two days because we have a pretty small dishwasher. Our fridge is also pretty small so I am sure it is because we're in an apartment. You can't fit more than two small pots and a few plates on the bottom and then some cups on the top.
imageVacation
• I run the dishwasher kinda often too now that I've committed to cooking every night... Also, it's teeny tiny and h seems to be incapable of making one glass last for an entire day..

• I can't imagine growing up with no siblings. My sister and I fought like crazy for a few of our early teenage years, but we're really close now and have been since she was about 16ish and I was 15ish. We're really close in age, so maybe that helped.

I always wanted a brother, too. When I married Michael, I got 5 of them! And they all give me tons of shiiit, just like a good brother should :)

Wash your pots by hand and only put dishes in, problem solved.
• My dishwasher is H. He is none too happy about that.

H is an only child, thankfully.  It makes splitting the holidays a little bit easier, tbh.  I have 2 older brothers, only one of which lives in town.  The other is 6 years older and hasn't lived here for the last 20 years so suffice it to say, we're not exactly close.

Yeah, it's weird. Whatever. There are actresses that I hate more-- Sarah Jessica Parker. Cameron Diaz drives me up a wall.

I agree with this, though it doesn't help me. I don't think it was good for the pots to be run through a dishwasher?

Gah! I have a new coworker that I'm disgusted by. Constant sniffing. But it's not really sniffing, more like snorting. I can literally hear the boogers being sucked back into her nose. Ugh.

• We hardly ever use our dishwasher. It just seems like it would take so long to fill it up, that what was in there would be gross. I opened it up the other day and it was kind of stinky since we haven't run it...I had to run an empty cycle just to freshen it up.

Yup. I wash all the pots, pans, wine glasses and non-eating knives by hand.

I think I just puked a little. Hand them a tissue!

Our DW has been broke since H bought the house. I wash by hand, but H and I have a deal whoever cooks the other cleans. And there are only 2 of us, so it's not a big deal. When we redo the kitchen we'll get a new one. Until then I dont really mind. I've never owned a DW in my life, so no difference.

I wash the large pans and some of the not-dishwasher safe stuff by hand, but those little sauce pans go in there. It isn't a problem.   I don't like to put dishes in the dishwasher for a few days and then not run it because I don't want them to get gross/stinky (which is irrational because I rinse them all really well first).

• Oh man! So yesterday with that crazy thread on CC a bunch of lurkers came out to defend the old hags and I noticed a bunch of them were from Detroit. So I posted something on there telling them to come onto the Detroit board sometime and you know who the only response I got was from?

We rinse off all the dishes going in the dishwasher so nothing smells very bad.

That was me.  It definitely wasn't Fake Bake.  They used an airbrush machine, I don't know the exact name of the product and the salon's page isn't loading right now for some reason.  I would recommend trying it once in advance, if you have time, that way if you don't like the results you won't be stuck.

Morning, all.  I'm holed up in our bedroom as we have the window unit running, and the rest of the house is 87 degrees.  F'ing landlord and his crappy A/C unit.

I also can't imagine growing up without my 2 brothers, although at times I didn't like the odd number because when pairing up with a parent I was always the odd person out (since I was the oldest).  But H is an only child and he hated it, especially when his parents gave him board games as gifts and he had no one to play with.  That makes me so sad.  :-(

• What I don't get about the new Snow White movie is how is Kristen Stewart the fairest of them all over Charlize Theron? Or even most people?
• The scariest thing about preggly is, I honestly think she's real.

Random. I just went down to the ATM to get some cash, and often people just leave their damn receipts sitting on top of the ATM rather than press no for receipt. Well I'm nosey, so I usually peek at the balance. There's one up there with a balance of over 36k. Who the frick keeps that kind of money in their checking account?

Oh- sorry about that!  I want to try it, but we won't be back in that area until two days in advance.  I may just suck it up and do a few sessions in a tanning bed or just not worry about it.  It isn't that big of a deal I guess.

• The bad sibling stories make me sad.  Ben and I both have three sisters - mine are all younger and his are all older.  I think part of what makes Ben such a great man is due in part to having sisters.  He knows how to respect and treat women :)  Not that men who don't have sisters don't, but I dunno.  I can just tell it's a really big deal with him.

My sisters and I fought a lot when we were younger too but we are all the best of friends now.  I can't imagine ever treating any of them like shiiit, now.  My mom and her sister (my drunken aunt) all out hate each other and it just makes me sad.  I can't imagine hating any of my sisters like that.

Anyway, morning.  Ben and I are going to the lake this weekend and I cannot fucking wait.  This is the first Saturday he's had off in months and I really need to get the foff out of this town.  It's going to be AWESOME.

• just wanted to chime in on the fake tanning thing- I have used Mystic tan a few times- the booth. There should be 3 levels-1 being a very slight tan, and 3 being the darkest tan. I have had it recommended that level 2 is the way to go, and I have to agree. I am super pale but I never felt like it made me too tan/orangey but I always noticed a difference in my skin tone.

"fair" = pale and she is pale as hell.

Dmills, I think she is real too. I'm almost positive she is.
