The second one is what my nails looked like before I broke/bit/chipped it all off. Loved it.

yes, for starters, stop doing gels! they weaken your nails!!!!!!!

Use a base coat like Quimica or Duri Rejuvacote to help rehab your nails. Keep in mind your nails will need to grow out from where the gels have damaged them. Unfortunately so many places dont' do gels correctly and it ends up causing a lot of damage.

Moisturize your hands ALL the time. It helps keeps your nail growth healthy as well.

Right now I have a chipped dusty rose on my nails and a hot pink on my toes. My girlfriends and I are getting our nails done tomorrow so I am thinking I will do a lilac on my toes and then a light pink on my nails for Spring!

I went through a longgg span of getting my nails done every two weeks or so, and they were so long and beautiful, but I went through a particularly anxious day a few weeks back and picked them all off.

I'm trying to grow them back out (which is going okay because my nails are pretty strong), but until then I feel like I don't deserve pretty polished nails, haha.

All nails deserve pretty polish! I keep mine fairly short and they look banging with polish on!

I have navy right now (Zoya Sailor) with gradient dots on one nail (from turquoise to robin's egg blue to baby blue). They're chipped right now though, need to redo tonight.

I'm from the camp of do whatever you want on your nails. If you like it, that's all that matters. I just put neon pink on my short nails

You ladies are so fashion forward, I need to catch up! My toes have a chipped pedi from January, should really look into fixing that, and my fingers have hot pink gel polish on them that is grown out for 3 weeks.. Yep, I'm a mess!

I struggle with a good top coat.. what is everyone's favorite?

But I love my gels! My manicures chip in 5 days but gels last 2-3 weeks.

This is actually how I got into nail polish blogging. I was getting gels, they screwed up my nails so I started getting manicures. They would chip after a few days (mainly because salons tend to put nail polish remover in polish bottles to make them last longer which messes them up) so I started bringing my own polish to the salon. That way I could also touch them up.

I now have literally thousands of nail polishes. Thousands.

I don't normally do much with my nails, but since I'm in nursing school and am not allowed, naturally I want to.

My last lab day is next Friday and I am going to go into a mani/pedi right after class to make my hands nice, celebrate the end of the semester, and slough off the winter nastiness. What should I do?

I always get gels otherwise the nail polish is gone like 5 minutes later.

I am horridly lazy and haven't had polish on my nails since... the wedding? I'm pretty sure that was it, and that was 300 days ago according to TK. My nails are also hideously long right now and desperately need to be trimmed. I almost stabbed myself when rubbing my eyes awake this morning.

I'm just jealous of all you people who have toenails to have polish on. My not-big toes all have teeniny little baby nails, and I do not know why. My pinky-toenails are essentially nonexistent.

My finger nails are bare right now...

I really can't decide what color or design to paint on them so I keep putting it off.

My toes currently have "Danielle" by Julep on them.
