I didn't even think to ask. Now I'm curious if they are the regular 750ml, or if she was able to get a deal on the 1L. Either way it is still the same uncorking fee per bottle.

No. The bride and groom are paying the uncorking fees.
It makes me sad that that was a legit honest question, it wouldn't surprise me if you answered "yes".
Right? I typically just lurk around and read for entertainment but something about that last one had me making actual noises! All I could think was "here is some free wine but you're going to have to pay to open it!"
And a big purse with your own bottle! I'm not ashamed to say that when I have attended weddings with a cash bar, and I am staying over at the venue, I have taken my own drink and sneaked off to my room to top myself up. If you can't or won't provide me with a drink then I'll sort myself out!
I'm going to remember May 21st, because that's the weekend of our tasting, so I better come back from that weekend to some updates
So, is it bottomless bottles of red/white? Or one each. That's it? Because, yes, it will run out and FAST.
Also, am I the only one who DID like the "broach" bouquet? (although, to me, that's not a broach bouquet, it's a bouquet with broaches on it) I mean I wouldn't use them for mine, but it looks nice with the red and while roses.....

I thought they looked fine also. And I also was a little surprised they were called broach bouquets. They were more like flower bouquets, blinged out with a few broaches.
Though my focus was more on being horrified the BMs had to spend their own money on bouquets...and 100 bucks at that...AND had to put them together themselves.

Wait, wait? I know you're a Canuck, she's having it on 2-4 weekend, and people are going? With a Cash Bar? Hell to the No!

I also didn't dislike the "broach" bouquet- but I agree, they were actually bouquets with broaches. I also was most against that the BMs had to pay for them and assemble them.

I didn't really like or dislike them on their own. I just can't believe that it was $100 for the supplies. I wouldn't pay that much for a bouquet of that quality pre-made.
A lady always carries a Swiss Army Knife which may be your friend at this one!!! And yes, it did come in handy at one wedding I attended recently <face palm>..

When I was a bartender, I used to carry a corkscrew with me at all times. Maybe I should start doing that again.

Screw that! Bring your own BOX of wine and just keep refilling that bottle over and over again!

Yes. Except if you open that box there's usually a plastic bag of wine inside. I have found that bag of wine to be much more portable and hideable.
Also if you're as klassy as my college friends and I, you can drink without a glass.
BAM! I get back from vacation and social media is full of her complaining about how badly people treat her and how she doesn't need the stress, but how happy she is about all the cool kitchen stuff she received at her bridle (that's how she spells it) party. As for the bridle, I have to laugh because it makes me think of the saying...Looking a gift horse in the mouth.

She lost the RSVP cards, and ended up texting me for my fiancee's name for drink tickets. They are no longer doing the wine because it's too expensive at $25 a bottle. I'm not sure why they just didn't make the wine. It would have been so much cheaper.

Uh... $25 a bottle is kind of expensive. I don't remember what her plan was, sorry, but I know the wine we had at our wedding- the "nice" wine- could be bought at Binny's for less than $20 a bottle. People who bring their own alcohol are often budgeting $10 a bottle or even less (crate prices especially).

And the shitshow continues. . .

She needs names for drink tickets? So they're non-transferable?

This is my favorite thread. I'm so stuck on personalized drink tickets. For the record, the most overserved I've ever seen people was at a wedding with drink tickets, lol

Lol this person is so me. I've gotten 3-4 drinks off of the 2 drink tickets per person for the last four x-mas parties at work. I'm very proud of this skill.

You're welcome.
FWIW, alcohol is more expensive in Canada. 25$ would still buy a nice bottle, but literally the only stuff that is $10 is crap (copper moon ugh).
I also don't understand the name for drink tickets. This is coming up so soon! Can't wait to hear more!
