Re: FFF

  • the healthcare debate makes my head hurt. insurance companies are pure evil. they need regulation and reform. it's so wrong to me that insurance companies made $12.4 billion in profits this year, in the worst economy since the great depression. they raised my husband's rates 40% this year, for no reason. he's never even used it.

the tea party has said that ANY reform would be considered a failure for them. how can you think that things are great the way they are?? I don't get it.

also, there's nothing, NOTHING, in the bill about killing grandma. that's just a scare tactic. unfortunately, it works.

and what REALLY pisses me off is this:
Houston is a city, by your terms. But I don't live in Houston. That's just the nearest city to me that I could choose from on TK. I live in a city with about 45k people. It's pretty much a Massapequa to NYC, only more people.

    Aaahhh Massapequa...I miss Nassau County.
  • It is official! I am so excited, but admit I am a little nervous. We are planning on having about 50 guests and going to have it in Sedona!

We just got $5000.00 from http://www.skylerloans.com and have another $20k or so of our own. We don't want to skimp out, but we do not want to go overboard either.

How much does the average "middle" wedding cost nowadays, I do not have any idea.

Well girls wish me the best!

I'm sensing a glitch. I wonder what board she meant to post that on.

ETA: Wondering = Over. That was meant for Budget Weddings.

Most likely. I like how they think they're sneaky.

This katshia girl annoys me. The one who posted that she needed help paying and want to ask her family for help. Then got all defensive about everything that was said. THEN followed up with this post on Snarky Brides. http://forums.theknot.com/default.aspx?path=http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_etiquette

  • Maine doesn't have any cities...and I will hopefully get a chance to visit those non-existant cities this summer since Dh got a new job and my county doesn't have the funds for a summer school to work at (or a job for Sept...but that's another story)
I might even go to the Super Wal-Mart ;)

Posted by laladypoet
Likewise. There is nothing idealistic in the current US health care system. Look at the basic outcome measures of health in the US in comparison to other western countries (eg. infant/child mortality rate, illness/morbidity rates, average lifespan). How can one honestly believe no change is required in a system which places such a wealthy country so far behind other western countries?

health care needs to be reformed. the costs of health care need to be reduced. but i disagree with your comment about insurance companies. they actually have low profit margins, so your stat about the dollar amount they made is misleading. the problem i have with this bill is that it doesn't actually address the costs of health care at all; all it does is funnel more money into the pockets of insurance companies and big pharm by forcing people to purchase insurance.
