That's the thing that sucks about message boards, texting, etc. It's so easy to take things out of context. Seriously that's not what I meant.

I think we're looking too far into the video. I think it was funny, mindless entertainment.

But I do not appreciate these comments. I did not call anyone names.

I'm just saying that you can't ignore that it is PART of the video. I'm not down with public shaming in general.

I think a lot of the people who agree with the video aren't necessarily coming from it from a perental standpoint, at least I wasn't at first. The more I think about it, from a parental standpoint, the more I can see the other side and how unnecessary and unhelpful it is.

However, the non-parental standpoint I think many people. or at least where I was coming from is because she was a huge entitled brat and I wanted to see her get what was coming from. More of a place of revenge and "take that" than what a rational parent might use as discipline. If that makes any sense at all.

Heather, I agree with Adamar and Shan. Your statement was honestly one of the stupidest things I've read on the internet in a very long time.

Therapy is not magic. It works for some people, like me, but I was never emotionally abused by my parents. Saying, "Go ahead and emotionally abuse your daughter. You can just get therapy later" is like saying, "Go ahead and burn your neighbor's house down. They have insurance," or, "Go ahead and drop kick a puppy. You can take it to the vet later."

I don't get how this video is funny or entertainment. It's about a dad going way to far to teach his kid a lesson about being a brat.
