I hope the people who posted the nasty comments are ashamed of themselves. A bride's bad etiquette is not an excuse to harass and attack her. As snarky as we can sometimes be the fact is the advice offered is always good advice. Making things personal undermines the entire purpose of this site.

Ok, so I only read TK on my morning commute and at home at night. What happened today? I know people started looking for the honorary invite bride (and posting snippets and hints (that's about how far it got before my commute was over), but then people found her wedding website, found her phone number and hate texted her and spammed her guestbook?!  Really?  Do people not have jobs and lives?!

  • I honestly don't think it was a knottie...they made comments about not needing a login to view threads, and named one of their posts weddingbee-something. I wonder if there was a bat signal there sending lurkers here, and they took the opportunity to make us look bad.

  • You all do know that you can image search and if you have used your photos posted here anywhere else they can find you that way, right? So if your avatar here is the same as your Facebook profile picture folks can figure out who you are...

Stuck in box. They did not hate text and spam that person but another. Either way it is messed up but may not be a knottie who did it.

Blergh. I feel like all the stupid happens during the day when people without jobs post more than everyone else.  Same thing happens on Reddit. I'll post in the morning along the lines of something not being ok etiquette-wise or that OP is being unreasonable, and downvotes to hell.  After 5PM? All the upvotes!

  • I googled my username and most of the results are "dog loves climbing trees" "Miranda Kerr loves climbing trees" "do you love climbing?"

But this is the only website I've used this username on and the few that popped up aren't me.

Different post. There was a poster from Canada that complained that she forgot to put on her invites (wedding a year from now) that they were "presentation only". Which we found out means cash only. Well, you can only imagine what a shittshow that started. I admit I was also snarky about asking for money only. I find it very distasteful. Anyway, I'm guessing the post from yesterday got some people all hyped up in being all Magnum PI (for you young people he was a TV private investigator) and found her guestbook and wrote some inappropriate things on there. Someone also posted some personal info.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • That poor girl!  I can't believe people would follow her round like that.  It's one thing to criticise someone here, but to spam their site and all that?  Absolutely horrifying.

  • I see someone was banned, but I thought it was someone else that did it all...I'm not a very good detective.

  • The person that was banned was the one that posted the cell phone numbers.  She never struck me as an overly cruel or vengeful person in my short time on here, so I don't think she was the one who was posting that bullshit on the guest book.  THAT'S the person who should have gotten banned, IMO.

I still don't think the person spamming the guest book was a knottie. One of the posts was named "weddingbeespy" and they made comments like "don't have to log in to read threads."

Oh that's true - I know from my home computer I can log in and see things without having to be logged in.  People suck.

  • This is the internet and you should protect yourself, but that girl didn't deserve to have her guest book spammed like that.

My first SN was the beginning of my email address and once I started posting regularly here and one of the sister sites, I realized that it wasn't safe.

I am friends IRL with a bunch of girls I have met online, but I try to keep myself pretty anonymous on TK/TB, because there are trolls out there.  We've even had some trolls infiltrate private FB groups.

Mine was like that too and I had to make a new account. I have one internet friend I absolutely trust, other than that I protect my personal info like it's the president.

If you are able to post, then you aren't banned :-P

Yes I know but they were commenting earlier that some one they liked was banned and i was wondering how one could tell.

Vivandiere8 The other ladies could tell by looking at the "love-its". Someone loved a post and it had a gray circle-cross out instead of a picture. If you hover over the name, it states "username- Loved it on date (banned)". But I think you have to be on a computer to see it.

  • If you visit their profile, their avatar's been replaced with one that says "User banned. Please carry on."
  • Wow! So glad I have such a common name!!! When you search my real name, you just get spammed with stuff about a famous person and I would never dare use my real name as a username. If I search my TK username, all I get is a bunch of TK posts. Whew! Scary stuff!

  • Well I changed my username because of that nonsense.  I had thought about doing it before, but that just shoved me in the right direction.  When I created my account, I never imagined I'd get this active posting on the boards so I used a real name.  Figuring out what people will do in their spare time with a name and basic info was a little eye-opening.  Considering how locked down I keep my FB I should've known better.

I didn't open the presentation thread yesterday until I saw this thread because when I read the title, I thought it was about a work presentation that someone left open for editing and her coworkers were effing with it or something.  Can someone direct me to how "Presentation Only" became the wording that you use to ask for cash?  I honestly can't figure that out.
