Re: Walking Dead!!! *Show Spoilers only!!*

  • I didn't hate it. I was very confused and really wanted to know what happens next for that group. Do they go back to Rick's group or keep going to DC in hopes of it being a refuge?

I was really creeped out by Eugene watching Abraham and Rosita together and that they didn't care, but hey it is like apocalypse porn I guess.

    The  hose scene was great.

The best part was the end when they showed next week's preview. Carol and Daryl are finding Beth!

  • I thought this episode was boring as fuck. And I wasn't even remotely surprised about Eugene's confession.

FI and I were really confused by Abraham's backstory and the scene in the store with his family. They looked severely bruised and also terrified of him, which lead us to believe that maybe he had been abusing them pre-apocalypse. Like, his wife had a black eye and what were probably choking bruises on her neck. We read some articles about it that explained his backstory from the comics and why he was beating those men to death, so that helped, but that scene was incredibly misleading for people who haven't read the comics.

I haven't read the comics and I definitely thought the same thing. I noticed the bruises too and thought maybe he had been abusing them.

Daryl needs to cut the hair and become a dreamboat again.

I think it was stupid to stop carol from killing noah. Plot wise, it's better so he can tell them about beth. Logic wise, anyone would have flattened that guy.

The van falling off the bridge thing was so bad and so stupid I can't even enjoy this episode. I feel like I'm watching a sci-fi original.

Maybe I don't hate the daryl-carol thing as much as I thought.

I feel like Daryl wasn't trying to save Noah so much as he was trying to save Carol the grief of having killed another kid. He can tell that she's hurt by whatever happened with Lizzie without her even telling him about it.

I just wish they'd stop taking an entire episode to tell us what we already know. Eugene was lying, awesome, that's a ten minute storyline. D+C found Noah and he told them Beth was in the hospital, awesome, twenty minute storyline. Keep it moving!

  • yep I was pretty bored. 3 dull episodes in a row. I agree with lolo, these hour-long episodes could've been done in a matter of minutes and then we could've moved right along. I'm sure they were trying to show us Carol's long struggle and need for redemption with all those flashbacks of her, but we get it! We KNOW already. Let's go!

On Talking Dead they said that they didn't show it but it was implied that friends of their family (neighbors maybe?) had raped Abraham's family which is why he killed them.

Yeah, that was what we found, which made sense but didn't show through in the episode at all.

Add me to the list of people bored by this week's, also. I'm glad the storylines seem to be coming together, though. Also glad the main group will be going back to the city.

I don't think the Talking Dead knows what implies means. I don't see how that was implied at all! Maybe that they had somehow threatened the family but rape was definitely not implied, at least from my perspective.

I've actually enjoyed the past few episodes. Yes, they are a little slower but I think the stories will be very important in giving the show a direction to go from here.

I don't think they do either. I thought the dudes were trying to steal supplies and maybe hurt the wife and/or kids to get them, and Abraham went nuts and killed them. The wife was scared and ran. I guess to see your husband suddenly change like that would scare the shit out of anyone.

That's what I thought was implied. I thought Abraham just started becoming super violent and the wife was scared.

What I took from it was that his wife was kind of stupid because all I thought happened was Abraham flipped out on these guys. I would prefer violent FI to FI leaving me alone in a zombie Apocalypse with 2 kids. As long as it's not directed towards the kids.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating staying with an abuser AT ALL. I'm just saying that you have two evils and one is much worse than the other in this very specific situation. She could stay until she found a better person to have help with the kids.

I agree. I think the situation is very different than Carol's in the beginning with her abusive H. It seems like Abraham's violence would keep them alive, whereas Carol's H (I can't remember his name even though they just said it this week) was just because he was an abusive asshole.

And I'd like to think that in a zombie apocalypse (or any apocalypse in general), those survival instincts would come out in all of us and after the first few days, you probably wouldn't be as sensitive to seeing someone-zombies, mean guys, etc. being killed. But then I'm the one who cheered when Rick and the gang killed the Terminus group so awesomely.

  • This episode wasn't ALL bad, but yes very slow.

The van going off the bridge was disappointing. It should have nose dived or flipped and landed on it's back. How does it just land normally? I looked at FI and said, "That's it?"

I had the exact same reaction! "That's it?" And FI was like "Um it would never fucking land like that. Ever."

SO and I had a similar conversation. When we saw how the van landed he said "What the fuck is that?! That is not how it would land." I reminded him that the creators of the show don't science so clearly physics (just like biology) is not a thing in TWD universe.

  • Hahaha H and I totally said the same thing about how the van landed. It would have nose dived and then flipped over.

And definitely not landed UNDER the bridge, right side up, that it flipped from.

  • The van was so stupid I had to pause and walk away and convince myself to come back to the episode.

I am rewatching the series on netflix and I realized how much I miss glenn being the funny dorky guy. I had such a crush but now he's so boring and serious. I need comic relief.

Ahhh I saw the one where he and Maggie first bang in the pharmacy and thought the same thing. He was so cute and dorky. Now he's standing up to Abraham.

Maybe Noah will be our new sweet, awkward guy.

  • So backtracking to when the episodes were still exciting... is it safe to assume Noah is the one coming out of the woods with Daryl?

I think so because Daryl tries to go after Carol and Noah makes the statement that they have a lot of people and Daryl says, "So do we." To me that means he's going to go get the gorup to come help/
Noah is probably with him, but I'm still under the impression that something is wrong and that someone is being held hostage and Daryl is the look ahead.  Maybe it's Morgan?

Fair point. They made a point to introduce him early on and we haven't seen him since.
