Re: On Wednesdays...

  • @jenna8984 - I totally agree that the gender could be anti-climactic after all that. My mom said the same thing about having my sister. After being in labor and all the pushing and stuff they both forgot to ask what it was!
I also want a very gender specific nursery. I told H if we don't find out then we have to buy decorations and paint for both and have someone on call to get the nursery done up while we are in the hospital. He agreed so that is our compromise for now, until we actually get pregnant.
  • @labro That makes much more sense! I actaully just scrolled a local new station on FB that posted the same thing so earlier person was wrong. Thank God!

  • @alpacina same with my family, I'm the only girl cousin! All uncles with all sons! My brother had a boy then 2 girls.

  • @jenjen047  is there anything consistent in the family? For example in Matt's family - dad's side - they haven't been able to create a female in so long they can't remember the last natural born, so I would want to know.
Also you could have fun and host a gender reveal party. I am all about doing that, it seems like fun and that way you find out in an interesting way :)

@minskat30 Maybe you're a bit psychic! That is so weird that the first "image" happened and will be really freaky if the second does too.

@AlPacina All I want to say is that my dad had all brothers, and his father had all brothers, and HIS father had all brothers....and then my dad goes and has three girls.

    @labro - Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

ETA: Was he exposed to radiation at any point? Too many testicle X-rays? ;)

  • I am clearly being punished for trying to quote because now my post is all sorts of fucked up.

  • @AlPacina Well my dad's brothers all had daughters too (and sons). Who knows...he said he walked through some scary shit while he was in the Army so you never know!

  • @misskittydanger - His side is heavier on the boys: his dad is 1 of 6 and they are split 4 boys and 2 girls. H is 1 of 3 boys and one of H's brothers has 1 kid who is also a boy. Neither of us are fans of gender reveal parties, so that won't work to convince him. :) Oh well, it's a conversation years down the road.
  • I got that this morning too, @wink0erin ... it reminded me of a liquid brownie.  Mmmmm.

@labro you beat me! I came on here just for the HP excitement!  I do hope that the play becomes a traveling show too because she said it's meant to be seen live, not read.

ETA more HP excitement!!!!!  Bloomsbury, the UK publisher of the seven Harry Potter books, alsoannounced plans to mark the 20th anniversary of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2017, with four new editions of the book, each representing one of the houses at Hogwarts school: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

  • Random question... I found a post in another forum that appears to violate TOS so I tried to report it, but it seems the report function isn't working. Does a pop-up show up when you report to ask why you're reporting/say that it's been sent for review?
    ******************************************************

  • @wink0erin - The reporting may not be working.  Will you PM me the post you are talking about?

I don't actually own my own copies of the books yet, so this might be a good reason to make that purchase!

    Oh and...

  • @labro - I know, like, FIVE BILLION people that own them. I've never needed my own so far. I think I had my parents' copies for a good two years before I gave them back, haha.
