TK irrational irritations

What riles you up even though its sorta pointless? I super wicked hate hump day or TGIF subjects for gm threads. I can't really say why but it super irks me. Now you go. Pardon the lack of enters, TK mobile, you know.

  • I get irritated about extra ellipses. I read them as breaks in the sentence and it bugs the crap out of me.

  • Totally pointless:

I don't understand how people can not know who D'artagnan is.  The Three Musketeers is (I think so anyway) one of the great classics of Western Literature.  It's been mentioned millions of times via pop-culture references and, even for you non-readers, there have to be more than a hundred adaptation of the movie.

To me it's like saying you don't know who Little Orphan Annie is or have never heard of Cinderella.  Boggles my mind.

Messy signatures irritate me and I know this is totally irrational. Even ones that are just off center or just look otherwise unbalanced.

The giant mega signatures with 4 tickers and 5 photos on TN make me twitch. I could never spend time over there with signatures on.

ETA: I took my pinterest link out of mine just because I couldn't get it to look right with it. I would have probably added another line and that was "too much" to me somehow.

I dont get garter toss hate.  Not everyone who does them makes it something overly dirty and sexual.  We did it and it was funny.  Its not just for young brides and can be done in a playful non trashy way.

I disagree. I've never had interest in musketeers, so I never read it though I've read a lot of books in my lifetime, nor have I watched movies about it. Not everyone likes the same things and you can't expect everyone to know a random ass name.

I agree that it can be done in good taste, I just get embarassed thinking about it for some reason. The last wedding I went to had it and it was NBD.  We also have 2-3 single people total coming so it was an easy way of getting out of it for us.

  • Truthfully - I am usually irked when I read irrational irritations threads.  Over the weekend I lurked on the last FFF and most of that thread pissed the hell out of me.  I  mean, I dunno.  This is weird because while I do enjoy FFF and AYG, they are sure a biiitch to catch up on.  And reading post after post of biiitch after biiitch is kind of exhausting.

    Anyway.

  • Anna, there was a kid in my friend's preschool last year named D'Artanian (that's how they spelled it).  There was also a Cleopatra in that class.

As a sort of newb, the unhelpful answers irritate me.  I know there are a lot of repeated questions, and people should be smart enough to use the search feature.  However, I was once told that I should have planned my wedding date based on when invitations would need to be sent.  I'm sure whoever posted that had a good laugh, but it wasn't exactly helpful to me.

  • Also I think way too many people get overly uptight about what goes on at weddings.  And maybe I think this way because I have seen some pretty classless shiiit go down at weddings so things like cash bars and dollar dances and garter tosses don't really register on my radar as things to get zomg riled up about.

Its one thing if its not your style, but calling it trashy or that its only appropriate at a certain age is stupid.

How does Aunt Flo from the Red River Valley sound to you?

The reaction to trolls. Its like everyone gets a hard on getting in their little quip and its just so contrived. It isn't even fun entertainment.

  • I am irritated that when I go to click "snarky Brides" at the top of the page to go to the main forum 25% of the time click on the "dresses" link right above instead.

When people post in an advice type thread and only post about themselves/their situation and it is of no help to the OP. Basically, people that really like to talk about themselves. I have seen newbs doing it, or maybe it just especially bothers me when newbs do it.
