Tell me something

Re: Tell me something

  • Thanks, girls! DH and I walked around after dinner the night we met, after EX ditched me to go drink. We wandered into this random little shop, and he stopped me in the middle of the store and told me how amazing he thought I was, and how I should run away from all the obvious bad in my life and take my daughter with me. I've never told anyone that. It took 10 years, but EX finally did me a favor and ran away. I should have done it all those years before, with DH.
  • Bec that really is an awesome story. I love telling ours too, since we met on a lind date after being harassed into it by mutual friends. People always think we're weirdos because before our first date ended we knew the other's political stances, religious views, whether or not we wanted kids, etc. We laid it all out on the line.

Moreno--my great-great-uncle was a catholic priest married in secret for 5 years. No one knew until she died of cancer and he left the church. A great-aunt was a nun before she left after deciding she was a lesbian.

Wow, I've only been hanging around here for a short time...but I have to say that y'all are a strong and amazing group of women.

I'm pretty boring, but since I'm new I figure that I should spill something.

Interesting- I'm jumping on the weight loss wagon...have lost 105 pounds and kept it off for over a year. And now I am training for my first marathon on Oct. 16.

Scandalous- I started talking to FI online 4 days after an ex dumped me via TEXT MESSAGE. Met in person two weeks later, and here we are planning a wedding.

Random- I hate wearing white socks except for to work out or run, and then they can only be the no-show kind. I'm high maintenance, what can I say?

  • I agree Bec I remember reading your story before. It should be a movie. It's amazing!

I ate roadkill one time in college. It wasn't a sorority or club initiation or anything, but I had a lot of redneck friends (God love them!) and they saw a freshly dead rabbit in good shape, not splattered or anything, on the side of the road, picked it up, and roasted it over a firepit that night at a party. I don't remember what it tasted like because I was wasted!

You girls amaze me with your weight loss. Well DONE! You inspire me.

Running, I'm JUST like that. I don't even own white socks, and the last time a friend wanted to go for a walk, I had to plow through 150+ pairs of shoes to find the ONE pair of sneakers I own. I always wear my 8yr old's fun socks if I have to work out. I hate sneakers and socks! Ew.

Wow, these are some incredible stories.

Mine? FI and I met on Livejournal. I still had my vcard when we started hanging out (I had just turned 20). I lost it to him a week after we met, and I've never been with anyone else. We've been together 5 1/2 years.

And just to throw more in there - I almost lost the big v to a guy when I was 18. I came to my senses and said no when I realized I didn't want my first time to be while my then friend was having sex with Aaron Carter in the same room. I want to vomit thinking about how terrible the whole situation was.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Tell me something : FI went to Catholic school from pre-k to college and has an uncle who is a priest in Mexico and another one who started to become a priest and just out of no where stopped and his uncle wanted FI to become a priest but FI didn't want to and I took his V card and now we are living in sin and rarely attend church.

I was raised Catholic (Obviously), and while I was incredibly religious, I actually was super-involved with church activities (If the makes any sense). In high school, I was what I now call a "psuedo feminist", and pretty much believed dating and marriage were for suckers. At the same time, I also didn't believe sex was something you did outside of marriage (So I guess that meant sex was for suckers, too, lol). I planned to become a nun and teach music at a Catholic school.

I'm not really sure where it all went off track, but eventually I met my ex and then got involved with DH ... clearly God thought I was way better off engaging in pre-marital sex and not educating America's youth, lol.

  • Oh, and after I changed my ways and decided marriage wasn't for suckers, I proceeded to believe that the "biological clock" was complete bs.

I've been married for 5 months, and somewhere around 2 months ago I started thinking "Hey, maybe a baby wouldn't be such a terrible idea ... someday", lol.

My pituitary gland doesn't work at all. The pituitary gland is called the master endocrine gland of the body because it controls the function of other endocrine organs as well as controlling growth. Other endocrine glands include adrenal, parathyroid, thyroid, pancreas, ovaries and testes. In addition to short stature (before I got the shots!) concieving children isn't impossible but its difficult.

  • I am more gay than I am straight and if my H ever passed away, I'd never be with another man. He knows this.

I dropped out of high school when I was 15.

I used to dance in Mardi Gras parades.

    Jumping in.

I absolutely cannot go pee if there's people within hearing distance. I don't know why, it just freaks me out when people can hear me tinkle. I turn on the taps while I go if anyone's home.

I also have a really raspy voice because of the microlaryngoscopies I need every couple of years due to a condition I was born with. Only affects 0.00045% of the population, so I guess that's somewhat interesting?

Scandalous...hmm. Nothing really too exciting. I met FI online, so when we finally met up, I waited a whole...6 hours before doing the nasty.  And that only because the car ride back to his place (he lived near Tulsa, OK, he picked me up at the bus station in St Louis, Greyhound sucks.) was, well, 6 hours long.

I'm really boring compared to you guys =(
  • Wow, some of you have some crazy stories, both good and bad. You guys are all ridiculously strong people, it's really admirable.

Something kinda interesting about me.. my family used to own the farm that now houses an NFL stadium. I lived on the farm for ~5 years when I was a kid. Not only were we forced to sell by the county, but we were also screwed out of millions (by "we" I mean my grandfather, his siblings, and some other family members who were co-owners of the farm).

This is kind of a downer story, but sorta scandalous. I dated my ex before FI for 4 years in HS and pretty much the whole time he had a psycho stalker who despised me. About 2 months before we broke up for good, we'd gotten in an epic fight and decided to "take some space".. I stayed home crying in my bedroom and getting drunk off my mom's vodka.. he went to a crazy party that psycho stalker was attending, got insanely wasted off multiple substances, and slept with psycho stalker.

To this day he claims to not remember any of it, nor how he got home that night. I found out about the incident when psycho stalker delivered pictures of the.. events.. to me. On my birthday (which was a week later). I was told later by a mutual friend of mine and psycho stalker's that she got one of her little friends to listen at the door to see if she could seduce him, with instructions to come in and take pictures if it worked.

I won't lie, I still hope that bitch burns in hell.
  • Wow Becky, what a jerk!
    image
  • The first time I hung out with H, my BFF was also with us. H managed his parent's hotel at the time, so we were all sharing the king size bed in the suite. I knew H for about 2 hours before we started getting frisky under the covers, while my friend was there. We thought she was asleep, but apparently not because she poked me in the back and said "Should I move out to the couch to give you privacy?" So mortifying. She still teases me about it.
  • I like that story Mar.

    image
  • Ugh it was so embarrassing. Although my BFF, who lived with me, and her BF at the time were getting it on in her room and her bed broke, like the frame split in two. It was so loud I came running downstairs to see what happened, and nearly barged in on them. Thankfully she had her door locked; I was clueless as to what was going on inside.
  • Yeah, but I feel completely lucky because now I have FI and an awesome, healthy relationship, so I really can't complain :)
