Is there a Saturday chat thread?

Oh ok, so she still has some wiggle room to grow out of that stubborn puppyness. It is definitely frustrating!

The storm sirens just went off, but they stopped now. The news was saying possible golf ball sized hail coming this way, which makes me nervous for J, my brother and the pups, down at the campsite. I just texted him that he should make a quick trip to his parents house since its the closest place for shelter. I hope the hail doesn't reach them.

Oh no, MuSu, I hope they do go to his parents' house ASAP. I don't think we have storm sirens here, are they in most places?

I hope they do too. His parents house is like, 2 min from the campsite so at least that is good. I just don't want them to be in the tent if there is hail. 

Angel, I guess I figured every state would have storm sirens but I guess maybe not? hah. The sirens stopped though, so thankfully there is no tornado coming.

If we have them, I'm totally unaware of them, haha. They've never gone off, no matter how serious the storm, so I'm assuming we just don't have them. We don't get a whole lot of serious storms... nothing that causes much damage or injury, at least.

That's interesting that you don't have them, Angel! Not even for tornadoes?? I am leery of thunderstorms now since our house was struck by lightning last summer. But I figure, hey, the odds of us getting struck twice are pretty slim, right? Hah.

We don't really get tornados. Every once in awhile, there's a tornado watch, but that rarely turns into a tornado warning, let alone an actual tornado. If they come, they don't generally touch down, I guess.

We don't have them either. I guess the main thing we would need them for is hurricanes and we usually get a few days notice for those.

Wait, I think I've heard sirens in NC before though. In....Jacksonville maybe? No, Fayetteville I think. I can't remember.

Wow weird, Angel. For some reason I thought you would over there. We get lots of tornadoes. Thankfully this storm doesn't seem to have any tornado production. I would flip my shiiiit if I was home alone during a tornado warning.

awww....I just went out on our deck for a smoke before bed.  There was a teeny tiny toad sitting on the arm of one of our patio chairs.  (We are on the second floor, so this isn't a common sight).  I told H and he went out and looked...and came back with a smile.  It is good to see him smiling over an animal.

How? They're so good! You know what else is good? You take watermelon rinds and soak them in leftover pickle brine for several weeks. It tastes like a pickle, but it's ALL crunchy.

I'm not a fan of vinegar in general. I don't like pickled anything. They're too sour/tangy for me.

Someone who used to post a lot loved pickle shots. Like pickle juice and vodka? I think it was vodka. I can't imagine that, but a few people said they liked them!
