TMI?

Okay, it seems I'm not the only one who's bored today. Let's try something new. I know it's called "TMI" for a reason, but c'mon - it's slow in here. Please play along! :)

I'll start. Yesterday, I met FI for dinner after work. As soon as I got up to the table he was sitting at, the first thing he said to me was "Well, I guess you've started your period." "Why?" I asked. "Because you're obviously bloated."

Thaaaanks.

Alright, your turn.

Alas, long-distance relationships do not make for fantastic TMI stories.

eta - I miss sex.  Does that count?

  • Wow. I finally sent H in to buy me tampons. I didn't think the day would ever come.

  • Wow, Mr. Hensley.

At least I'm not the only one whose FI speaks his mind when I'd rather he not.

The other day I walked into the room -- it was cold -- and he looked at me and said "Ding!  Fries are done!"  Tool.

Ha!  That just happened the other day.  I had to write down the absolute specifics -- down to the color on the box -- because otherwise he said he wouldn't do it.

Does anyone else think that mr.akhensley is a fucking douchebag?  I would have replied.. "well obviously you took your dose of steroids today... because your d!ck is obviously small today."

Why are so many women here marrying douchebags?

  • Mike used to just pick up a box for me when he went to the grocery store.  He didn't know if I needed them, he'd just get them, JIC.  He's so fricken sweet.  I have an IUD now so I don't have to worry about feminine products.

Just because he makes a douche move doesn't make him a douche overall. H has said some things without thinking before  but I know he didn't mean to upset me with it.

  • Oh mandy, he's not that bad. Like baystate says, he speaks his mind without always thinking about it first.

I came back at him with, "Did you grow an inch taller today? Oh no wait, you're sitting on a barstool." (He's 5'4" and a little insecure about it.) Hehe.

It disappeared.  Weird.  LOL.  But yes, it was so weird because I keep them in a cabinet that only has my flat iron and curling irons in it - so there wouldn't be a way he'd see it often enough to remember it.  And sure enough he got the right stuff too.  I think he almost enjoys buying things like that to show guys it is seriously no.big.deal.
  • What he said is nothing to shrug off or laugh at.  I f he says something like that I'm sure he'd say more.

And yeah I can honestly say that my husband has never said anything to hurt my feelings.   He thinks before he speaks and treats me with upmost respect.  Guess not everyone isn't as lucky as me.

  • Haha LTB FI gets totally freaked out by my period. We usually leave the bathroom door open (more TMI), but when I'm on my period he'll cover his eyes and close the door if he walks by and I'm in there.
  • I don't consider myself unlucky because H has said a few hurtful things. I'm sure I've hurt his feelings too. Neither one of us are perfect. I feel like you're judging our husbands because they aren't as perfect as Mike. That's not cool.

    LMAO! That's hilarious.
  • When I'm out of tampons or pads, I rip off part of the box or label and tuck it into his backpack before he goes to work. So he can pull it out in the store and match it up to exactly which products I want.

my husband has said some jerk things to me, BUT NEVER abotu my size or weight.  ever.
  • What you said was 'not everyone is as lucky as I am'. Right after saying that Mike has never hurt your feelings. That sounds a lot more encompassing than just making fat/bloated jokes. I agree, H would NEVER say that to me, but that's not our relationship. But yeah, he has hurt my feelings once or twice in the 6 years we've known each other. I don't think I'm any less lucky than you or that he's more of a douche.
While I don't think that makes mr. hensley a douchebag overall, I do have to agree that I wouldn't find it funny in the least. DH knows my cycle down to the day (which is a little weird, I know).  Last week he was like "we need to get back early from the lake tonight so we can make sure to have sex before BJ week begins in a day or two."  Which speaking of TMI, is how he references my period.

    Posted by mandysmear
I can understand that, I really can. I was just...bothered that you seemed to take it past the appearences comment into ever having your feelings hurt by your H. And TBH, we have never, ever said hurtful things in the heat of the moment. We're very careful during our fights. It's the random out of the blue, offhand comments that sometimes hurt.
