Haaa I'm sorry I walked away from this thread and didn't see the responses.

Two reasons, one rational, the other irrational.  The rational reason is because I tripped on one when I was four.  I was at the mall in a longish-dress and I stripped and fell down.  The irrational one is that I was always afraid as a kid of catching my shoelace or something and being dragged underneath.

[QUOTE]3am I don't know why but I refuse to get out of bed and freak out when I am awake between 3-4am.  I forgot who/how/where but I was told that it was the devil's hour or witching hour or something like that when spirits are most likely to come out "and play" or whatever spirits do.  Eff that I want to be asleep and unaware during that time thank you very much.  When I am awake during that time I swear I see and hear things.

From that movie where the girl gets possessed! The lawyer keeps waking up and having crazy scary things happen to her. ::shudder::

AATB, sometims H just shuts me down and refuses to "play the what if game." He says I can what-if even the most positive things.

Most of these don't seem that irrational to me, so I'll humilate myself with this one: sharks in pools.  Everytime I swim in a pool, I have to give myself a little pep talk about how impossible it is for a shark to be in a pool.

I'm always afraid that I'm going to get in a terrible car accident when I have my pups in the car with me. More because I want to save them, not myself. This probably stems from that fact that a guy ran a red light and got me into an accident when Tory was in the backseat. She was in her kennel but if she hadn't been, my slamming on the breaks would've probably made her fly into the windshield.

Carrie, I have no idea.  I don't remember this was almost 14 years ago.  All I remember was that you sit in a circle in the dark a certain way and you could "feel" what they called these babies or kids or something nibbling your toes.  Also, there was a reaaaally old locker in the locker room that apparently the devil himself hid in.  Yup those girls scared the ish out of me.  Yet I loved them.

[QUOTE]Since FFF is dying...what are your irrational fears? And I mean stuff that is truly irrational, not like being afraid of snakes or spiders or something. I am absolutely terrified by those fortune teller machines that you see in arcades or fairs. You know, like in the movie Big? When they light up and move and then spit out a fortune. Omg they just absolutely haunt me. The show Big Brother had one in their last season in the house and when it lit up and talked, I wanted to cry.

I am terrified of escalators - will take an elevator over an escalator any time -    have gotten a little better if i can prepare to get on an escalator - but if it is a surprise - it's almost full blown panic attack time - no reason - I just HATE them

I don't know if this is a rational or irrational fear (it seems irrational right now when everything is okay), but since the situation comes and goes...

I'm afraid of my sister dying young.  She's been sick for about seven years now, in and out of treatments and hospitals etc.  And I'm afraid of what would happen to my parents.  My mom is not going to be able to hold it together without her (she's  much closer to my sis than she is to me) and my father lost his shiiit this past week when his best friend's daughter died of leukemia.  I can't even imagine how they'll be if my sister goes before them.

Damn that got depressing.  I'm sorry.

I remember them, but didn't read them, because I don't like to be scared.  There was a book I read when I was about 10 called "The Dollhouse Murders" that STILL haunts me.  The premise was that this girl had a dollhouse that was a replica of the house she was living in, and the dolls would move by themselves, reenacting the murder of her grandparents years earlier.
