I'm irritated by grocery shopping. It would be fine if I didn't have to interact with people, but I just get so frustrated with stupid employees and with the customers who don't know how to navigate their carts through the aisles.

Actually, I have an overwhelming amount of contempt for way too many people right now, and it's worrying me. I'd like to think, "Oh, I get to see my favorite baby this weekend," rather than, "Great. We're going to spend hours at the house of someone who probably won't even offer me a sandwich. I guess I'll bring all the Super Bowl food."
  • Options
Special, I realized yesterday I think a lot of really negative things about pretty much all of the people at the track by my house. I really need to work on that.

At my last job, my boss had been the department secretary for 20 years. She still couldn't figure out basic computer things.

Oh, and I'm a SAHW. Spaghetti sauce is simmering on the stove and a load of laundry is in the wash, so Daisy can suck it.
  • Options
I'm irrationally irritated that I can't be a SAHW. I'm sure I'd hate it after 2 weeks, but I'd love it for those two weeks.

    And because it just happened...

I'm irrationally irritated when people come into the bathroom and choose the stall right next to mine when their are 6 other empty stalls.

Same goes for the cardio equipment at the gym.
In the Valentine's Day trend, I'm irritated by people (mainly on FB) who bitch about every.single.holiday. I have people on my friends' list (that I really should just hide) who do status updates like this: Valentine's Day: "Happy Hallmark Holiday!" St. Patrick's Day: "Way to degrade the Irish people by getting drunk and being disgusting." Columbus Day: "Let's all celebrate genocide and xenophobia!" Thanksgiving: "Have fun indulging on all that food and booze while people are starving!" Christmas: "Cutting down trees is damaging to the environment and Christmas is nothing more than commercialism." Holyshit. I get it. You hate the holidays.
    Posted by baystateapple
I'm with you. Its a holiday. If you don't want to celebrate it, don't.

I started writing this an hour ago and then worked, so I imagine we're beyond the holiday topic,...

Froggie, since joining the gym, I have realized someone coming up next to me on the equipment when others are available is super annoying! From the very start, the only person I willingly go right next to is FI.

I fuucking hate attendance policies. It is patronizing and condescending to students. Most people I'm in school with right now are either married, getting married, have kids, this is their 2nd career, etc. Emergencies happen and shiit happens and we get penalized SO MUCH for more than a few absences per semester. Excuse me, its my money I'm wasting when I don't show up so fuuck you for trying to play attendance monitor. It really pisses me off.

You know, I seriously wonder about brides who get married and stay on this site, continuing to post when they are almost universally disliked.

Anyone remember lbrnr, or whatever her name was? She showed up and was an asshat to people all. the time. And commented constantly about how she would never be such a loser as to stay on TK after her wedding. I was SO glad that she kept that promise.

I think the spelling/grammar has been beat to death, but I am irrationally irritated by educated, intelligent people making stupid errors.

I just got a campaign email from a woman running for judge talking about how she was named one of "Metro Atlanta's Top Attorney's." I'm really tempted to respond.

Oh we have seating charts in most classes. Profs like to cold call so it helps them spot a person. I just think it is completely ridiculous that they are trying to police our lives, even though it is OUR responsibility to get good grades and come to class. I really think it is a shiit policy. A classmate of mine has 2 kids and last year her daughter had a ton of medical problems so she missed like 3 weeks total of class. She was still caught up on material but they MADE her drop the class anyway. Totally sucks for her because now she has to take the class over.

MuSu, I'll get on board with your irritation.

That class I thought I dropped? I talked to the prof, and he just said, "Well, at least you realize it was stupid. I'm not going to help you, but there's not an attendance policy. Study hard." He treated me like an adult.

ohmygod and J has this intro to philosophy class right now where the prof seriously must blow his own diick or something because he is so pompous about the importance of his class. J is only taking it to fulfill one of his last lib ed requirements, but the attendance policy is insane. For EVERY class you miss, you have to write a 3 page paper about that reading for that day. EVERY SINGLE CLASS YOU MISS. He also does not excuse doctor's notes or death as excuses.

They had several blatant typos on the grammar slide of their powerpoint. After the presentation they gave feedback slips and I wrote something like, "If you plan on lecturing about grammar, make sure all your slides, particularly the grammar slide, have proper grammar." I thought it was ridiclous.

Taking attendance is mandatory at my school now. It has something to do with financial aid.

My school was that way, too. I hated it! We actually had to call each instructor if we weren't going to be in class that day. I would be honest and say something like "Yup, I'm hungover -- not coming in." It was so dumb. You're totally right -- we're wasting our own money if we don't show up. As long as we do the work, WTF should you care?

    Wow. That's just ridiculous.

Attendance policies for college students, while I understand why the professor would want them, should be far more lax. It is your own money being wasted. Musu, I know you work super hard in your classes, so you don't fall into this category but I can't stand it when people who don't work hard in their classes and skip a lot complain about bad grades. Well maybe if you did your homework and assignments and showed up a little more, you wouldn't be failing.

Agreed. Once in college, poor attendence comes back on the student no one else. Attendence shouldn't be required unless it's something like a lab where you have to be there to do so.
