Ask a knottie anything!

As in ANY knottie.

AND GO!

Fische, can I have your recipe for brownies?

Emily, how many trips total did you take in 2011 and how many are you shooting for in 2012?

  • Dude, I set water on fire, I'll gladly exchange recipes!
  • It's pretty adorable that you think I have any recipes.

  • Fishy, what are your cats names?

Chrissy, what is your favorite type of beer?
  • Stacks, I think it was 8...Torres del Paine (south of Chile), California, Oahu, Buenos Aires, Rio, other south of Chile trip, wine country trip, England.

I don't have a specific goal this year, although we're booked to go to Iquique (north of Chile) in March for our anniversary, probably CA in April for a wedding, and my CW and I just today started discussing going somewhere for the Easter long weekend since H will be gone. I'm pretty sure there will be some more trips because we have a couple nice long weekends I want to take advantage of.

Fishy, have you always been into golf? That's one of those activities that just has no appeal for me, probably from being dragged around courses as a kid while my parents would play.
  • My cats names are Howie and Lyla. HOWARD when he's in trouble.

And I have always hung out around golf courses, but I didn't start getting serious about it until I realized that it really is a good lifetime sport to have for business as well as pleasure. So I've been like...GOLFING for probably 6 or 7 years. I've gotten much better in the past 3-4 years, though.

It helps that one of my best friends is the golf pro at my course. He's ramped up my game a bit.

  • Edie, are you completely deaf, or do you have some hearing? Do you lip read?
  • Stacks, is there going to be another little stacks running around at any point?

Emily, my friend is getting married in California in April, too!  I know it's big state, but that would be a funny coincidence.

That's really cool Em.  I was just looking over your blog today and was thinking that you do a lot of cool little trips and it makes me want to be more adventurous.
  • MP I have NO idea.  Like none.  We tried for a day and then both chickened out.  Our new goal is this summer, but now we have a pretty definitive timeline for buying a house and a baby would mess with that.  So we really have no plans right now.  So summer, maybe, or maybe never.  It's like the hardest thing to decide ever.
  • Stacks, that was one of my big goals for last year, to just make the effort to take advantage of all the little opportunities instead of letting time slip by. I mean, the trip to my friend's farm in the south of Chile was awesome, and it was maybe like $100 for the bus there and back plus food for the weekend? Obviously some trips are more expensive, but you can for sure do cool things without too much time or money.

MP, my friend went to Stanford and is way into football...I feel like if you know her it will be through some "women who are obsessed with college football" connection :)
  • I love me some Howie.  True story.

  • Em, that's a good goal.  We have a list of things to do in Boston / New England, since we figured that as people who live here we never get to do the touristy things.  We're about 1/2 of the way through it.  And I would be friends with your friend.  She sounds awesome.  I don't know where the bride went to undergrad though.

Stacks, I can imagine it's a tough decision.  Just realizing that we're nearing the time to start a family (and that I'm actually "old enough") freaks me out when I think about it.
  • Do all your friends IRL think your H is really hot or is it just me?
  • If it were my friend, you'd know where she went to undergrad. She has a borderline ridic amount of Stanford pride. Oh, and she's an engineer, so you guys are basically twins.

<div>No.  haha.  One of them even said I must just like his personality and that made him cute to me.  Haters always be hatin, right?  </div>
  • YAY TWINS!!  I'm friends with the groom.  I just know that she was doing her PhD at Berkeley.  Probably not the same person.  But I like her anyway!  (both my friend and yours!)   :D

We've done a bunch of those.  We also did our own walking tour of the city to find some of the unique landmarks like the marker for the 1919 Molasses Flood in the North End, the Cyclorama over on Tremont Street (it originally held the one that is now at Gettysbury NPS) and a handful of others.  My brain is mush right now so I can't think of all them.

I've done the Duck Tours, the Museum of Science, and the Aquarium!  You have a really nice aquarium :)
  • Oh yeah, man! I play everywhere we go. My course in town here is my favorite because I like the people out there, which sounds stupid, but golf is totally a social thing for me.

My favorite course is the one I grew up playing on that my dad just bought a house on. I'm pretty sure that's just due to nostalgia, though. :)

IF I COULD EVER EVER play St. Andrews, which, ya know, I can't, but IF I COULD, I would love to play there.

Or if somehow I could get on Hazeltine or Interlachen in the cities area, I might die. But I'm pretty sure I'd have to sign over my first born child and take out a small loan for that to happen. :)

We played in Mexico, too, and that was fun. There's a course in Medora called Bully Pulpit that is also amazing.

I think I just love all of them.
