Ask a knottie anything!

Re: Ask a knottie anything!

  • The Exorcist is one of H's favorite movies. It is one of the few movies that scare me.

  • MP:  Hate to tell you this but Gargoyles closed
  • I have an MA in Modern European History.

Chrissy, you should go to grad school abroad. I think it's easier that it sounds and sometimes even cheaper. I wish I had though about it when I had the chance.

Tri - that's good to know!  I made that list based on people's recommendations awhile ago.

Chrissy, I have my masters in civil engineering.  I wasn't going to go to grad school (which was really dumb of me, considering that structural engineers pretty much need their masters, but I didn't really know that) until my advisor told me it would be free.  Now, I love school though.  I would be a professional student if I could.
  • Since I don't shut up about it, I'm sure it's known I'm applying to grad school, for art history.

Anna, are you as vocal with your views and opinions IRL as you are on here? (Not to be taken as an insult, you know I <3 you.)

  • I'm hoping to go to medical school.  If I don't get in I'll definitely be going to grad school of some type.  I've looked into genetic counseling also.

  • Chrissy, once I graduate this year, I plan on going to graduate school for elementary ed.

MP I have never gone further west than Chicago. :( I only xc ski, I've gone around here and then FI's BM (nickname, MP) has a place in NH so we go there a lot.  Oh yah, and Norway.  That was awesome.  Do you ski?

You shut your mouth, woman. Unless you're feeding yourself and BabyFezz.
  • Chrissy, I thought it was crazy!

Also, I agree with Anna on international schools.  My friend just finished his PhD in Denmark.  He met his wife there, so I'm sure he enjoyed it.  Plus, he found a job there and is staying.
  • Ohhh grad school abroad is a great idea.

I read the book and it scared the crap outta me...but then I saw the movie and didn't think it was scary at all.
  • I think the idea of what's going on in the Exorcist is scarier than the movie itself, for me anyway.

  • Meg, I skiied in Wyoming when I was in Idaho for work.  It was awesome.  I guess if you only do xc, then the difference isn't as noticeable.  A coworker has a house up in NH, and we go every winter to visit or go skiing.  I haven't gone xc, though.  At the rate our snowfall is headed, I don't know if it's a possibility this year.
  • Ray, yes and no. It depends on the situation. I'm very comfortable discussing stuff with my H and my friends and stuff like that, and I don't really have a problem telling people if I think they're being dumb. But really only with my peers though, I keep to myself more at work, with my parents, grandparents, etc. And I can be diplomatic if I want to be.

  • I don't watch scary movies, my college didn't have a greek system and I don't have a graduate degree.

    *kicks rocks*

<div>Dude I know!!! It's just so easy to stay here and not pay money.  Some day, though.  I also don't like to try new things once I find places/routes I really like.  Then I just like to improve on those course, plus I know what's coming.</div>
  • Skiing out west is the bomb!  I have skied with my kids in

    Utah (The Canyons, Deer Valley)
    Colorado (Winterpark)
    NY (Bristol, Greek Peak, Labator)
Vermont, (Stratton, Killington, Sugarloaf, Okemo, Pico, Mount Snow)
    PA (Camelback, Elk Mountain)
  • Chrissy, I've always wanted to live abroad and I think grad school is probably one of the easiest ways. Getting a student visa is usually much easier than getting any other kind, well besides tourist anyway.

Really?  Maybe it's because all of my friends (and sorority sisters) and many coworkers are female engineers.  Where does his interest lie for civil?  It's a really broad discipline (transportation, environmental, hydraulics/hydrology, dirt)

I agree.  The new movie The Devil Inside does look scary to me though.

Kcs WILL get into medical school.  :)

I wasn't in a sorority.  I have more female friends on TK than in real life, and in college, 80% of my friends were guys.  I don't think there's a sorority for tomboys.

    This is to anyone.

Are your parents still together? If not, how old were you when they divorced and or passed away?
