Saturday Night

Re: Saturday Night

  • At the beginning of planning I had H tell me what things he actually cared about.  I kept him involved in those things (and obviously any really important thing that he might not have thought about).  Besides that I was on my own to decide.

That might not work for some, it kept H happy cause I wasn't bothering him all the time and it kept me happy because I was able to get stuff done on my own time schedule.

We still got stressed out at times, but I think it helped alleviate some of the "nagging" that happens close to the wedding.

I'm sorry that you are going through this.  I like the idea of taking some time to yourself or even spending an evening not talking about the wedding at all.
  • Totally random, but TK just told me that I've been married for 421 days and it's 4/21 today.  Weird and cool.
  • Congrats cornflake!

Ceh, we're nearly date twins.  I'm getting married three weeks from tomorrow.  We're getting SO close!

I finally finished my bouquet just now!  Imma gonna AW a pic in a second.

That is pretty cool! I feel like my date is still pretty far away, although I'm sure it will come up faster than I realize. I'm kind of taking a break from wedding planning already.

  • Angel, if you've got your venue, dress and major vendors at this point, you're kind of at hiatus point.

I still need to get a DJ and a florist, so I should probably do that in the next few weeks so I can truly relax.

  • Not gonna lie, I haven't done any actual wedding planning in a couple of months. I should probably find a dj soon but will wait another couple weeks til finals are over.
  • When's your wedding, Aryn?   (This is why people have tickers! :D )
  • Aryn, when is your wedding? I'm on the mobile site and I can't see tickers or anything.

I absolutely love it! I'm going to carry a brooch bouquet as well, but I can't DIY to save my life so I'm going to buy one on Etsy.

  • Thanks ladies!  I'm SO glad it's finally done.  It's been almost done sitting in an empty wine bottle mocking m e for months.
  • KUI. Jeez. Mun1, I loves it. I am arting and drinking, obviously. Sorry, iPhones can't autocorrect all my drunk speak!

  • I'm KUI as well.  But thanks to high school typing class, I'm an excellent drunk typer.
  • K FI and I just had a long talk and I think we worked some things out. We're both thinking things will be much better after this wedding. We're over planning.

  • Hello! I just got back from helping my dad move some furniture out of the basement. He's hoping to get his house ready to sell within the next couple months, which is exciting and sad. He and FI found a letter my mom wrote me before she died about the kind of woman she hoped I would be, which was AMAZING. Now I'm just home relaxing.

MUNI, your bouquet is absolutely STUNNING. I can't imagine how much work that must have been!

  • Onlove, glad to hear you guys talked it out. What does KUI mean?

  • It's a frequent late nighter thing, KUI. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH SIMPLE KU

That's amazing about the letter from your mom. Was this the first time you'd read it?

  • Also, being an excelled typer is not the same as being drunk and on an iPhone. I can drunk type, not drunk iPhone. Not the same. Oh! Muni, at Boston comic con a chick was dressed as hipster Ariel. I wasn't there, but saw the picture and though tof you, punk. She was adorable "I left the ocean, it was too current"

It's the first time I can remember reading it. I'm not 100% sure if she wrote it at some point when I was in my teens- she mentions that she was 45 at the time, and she was 52- and then showed it to me and I forgot about it, or if she wrote it then intending it to be something I would find someday later. This sounds cheesy, but it was like she was sitting at the table talking to me again. Greatest feeling ever.<div>
</div><div>ETA: She was 52 when she died. Complete sentences are AWESOME.</div>

That doesn't sound cheesy at all. I think it's wonderful that you got to read that and feel close to her.

  • Aw. Thanks.

I feel bad for bringing all these warm fuzzies up in here. Isn't this why people say TK sucks now? Oops.
