Afternoon/evening/everything in between thread.

I just woke up from a 3 hour nap.  It was glorious.  It was one of those naps where I wasn't sure if I slept, but then holycrapit's5oclockwhendidthathappen?!

Anyone have any fun plans tonight?  Aside from the race this morning, we don't have anything planne for this weekend, for the first time since the last weekend in April.  I'm very happy about that.

  • hahaha I napped all morning/day.  I woke up at 9 and then napped from 12-3ish....
H made fun of me...all because I stayed up until 1am and had two beers....I am getting old.
  • Napping is blissful.  I normally don't like sleeping during the day, but every once in awhile it's great.

  • We went to the Virginia Renaissance Faire today. It was awesome. The weather was perfect too. We're not doing anything tonight since we were gone all day.

    How was the race JK?

  • I ate so much kettle corn today. It was delicious, and awful at the same time.

  • MK, it was pretty good.  It was very well organized (I was nervous after your post about the first one in your area, apparently they took their feedback well) which was awesome.  I wish there had been more obstacles, but that's what Warrior Dash is for.  The giant water slide was awful, and I will skip it if we do it again next year.  Overall it was really fun!  I didn't survive, but I made it about 2 miles before my last flag got taken, which was further than I thought I'd make it!

No fun plans here at all. I worked today. I go work at the club tonight. Then I work tomorrow. Monday though, I'm going to make cinnamon rolls in my new casserole dish!
  • I love kettle corn with all my heart.  Yum.

FI and I slept all day.  We were in the hospital from 12:30 last night until 7 this morning because I sliced my thumb open at work.  And the ER was taking it's sweet time.  It was 4:30 before I even got to a room, and then I waited another hour and a half for a doctor to see me.

    TMI Warning!

So by the time I even got to see anyone, the wound had already started to close and they had to reopen it to clean it out and they used Dermabond to seal it.  It actually doesn't hurt, and I should be able to work tomorrow as long as I don't submerge it in water and keep it covered.

Plans tonight include going to see Men in Black III.  I'm off work because I was planning on going to a graduation, but the ER kind of screwed up those plans.

  • That's probably way further than I would have survived!
  • That sounds like fun JK! I'm glad they learned from their mistakes here.

We bought another bag of kettle corn on our way out of the fair and I'm fighting the urge to break in to it. I had a turkey leg too, and OMG, it was delicious.

It was especially impressive considering we walked 75% of the course.  It was on a  motocross course, so it was all hills.  It was horrible.  We walked and then sprinted past the zombies.  I did a lot of juking and faking to make it past them.  Plus we stayed with a good sized group, which helped.

Wow, Texas, that's crappy.  I've NEVER had a wait like that in an ER.  I hear about them, but I've never been that unlucky.

  • Hello all!  not much going on here - I was on call today, so i stuck around the area and went thrifting.  Then I tried to organize said thrift.  I finally ordered a photo light tent, so once I get that I can get all my stuff listed.  then i have to redo all my old pics.  such fun.
tonight we're just staying in and grilling.  H is grilling a steak, i defrosted some chicken, but I don't really feel like chicken.  I'm also going to grill some naan and spread italian truffle cheese over it.  And of course some wine.  I think a sangiovese is on the menu tonight.
Tomorrow we're hopefully going for a bike ride in the morning, then I'm dragging H to World Market to get a new entertainment center thing.  Then maybe to look at couches.  Next weekend we are super busy, so probably just going to try and take it easy tomorrow.

  • J your race sounds like it was fun!

I'm just laying here watching Friends.  I'm sure we're going to go out and eat, but I have no clue what I want yet.

  • Try not to pick at the DermaBond.  If you're a picker.  I've brought some on vacation before and used it to cover a popped blister (um, ow, don't do that) and I just wanted to pick at it all the time.

  • Proctored SAT's at my school this morning. Even though I was up at 6:40 on a Saturday, I can't complain. It's the only time you get a room full of students who not only follow all of the rules, but are quiet all 3 hours and 45 minutes of the test. Easiest paycheck I've ever made.

I had every intention of finishing our "spring cleaning" of the bedroom and of going through the shower gifts and getting rubbermaid containers to store the items we will save until we buy a house. I also wanted to start some DIY projects...

... I've been home since 1 and save for a little half hour cat nap, I've been on here catching up from yesterday afternoon. TK sucks you innnnnn

Really shouldn't complain, though. Our weekends have been full since late April, and I won't have another weekend of nothing going on until the end of June. Still though, I feel a little guilty about doing nothing.
  • How you feeling Fezz?  I had a friend go out to dinner right before her due date, and her water broke in the bar.  She was so embarassed she ran out and texted her husband to pay the bill and meet her around the corner.

  • I'm a fucking pansy.  I would have passed out long before that.

We're watching Game of Thrones.  It's awesome.
  • Is Dermabond like superglue for your skin?

H had the worst experience getting stitches in his finger from an idiotic doctor once, it would have been nice to be able to do something else instead.

  • Texasgurly I was run over by a snowboarder in HS and the board sliced through my snow pants and cut my leg. They used dermabond on it. Holy hell did that ish hurt when the put it on.

Guys I can't believe I haven't told you all about the elves at the fair. H and I were at the "tavern" and I turn around. Approaching us are two people, one a guy with extremely long curly hair, decked out in full kilt regalia (It was Celtic weekend at the fair), and his wife is pregnant, wearing a chain mail top that only covers her boobs, then spills down her sides so her naked pregnant belly is hanging out. It was akward. Only when they were standing at the bar did I realize they were both wearing elf ears.

  • I feel good, KJB!  I keep going out just because I feel like if I'm home it won't happen and if I happen to be somewhere not thinking about it my water will break.  No luck though. :-)

<div>Yeah.  FI was pissed.  He was supposed to work today, and ended up having to call in because he got no sleep.  Apparently this hospital is notorious for long waits.  </div>

  • I wish I could find a picture. Her husband won the archery tournament. I don't think he should have been allowed. Him being an elf and all gives him an unfair advantage. :-)

  • Yeah Dermabond is like superglue.  Because of the location of the cut (right on the tip of my thumb), it wouldn't have been beneficial to do stitches.  Getting it cleaned out was more painful than the actual glue.

I did fine.  FI is the one that almost passed out.  But that may have had more to do with exhaustion than anything.  Poor guy hadn't slept in almost 24 hours.

    I love FF.

  • We just primed the floor. It looks so much better already. My dad is making homemade spaghetti sauce from stuff from the garden and it smells amazing.
