• Ok, picture THIS, but a woman.

  • nah, it's always the men that pass out.  anytime we have a 20-40 year old man, we pretty much expect them to get all sweaty and ready to pass out during local surgery.  Now the 70-80 year old men?  Damn those dudes can take some pain.
Tex, did you do your bridal portraits?  I mean, I'm guessing you didn't just throw your dress on and stage a photo shoot out of the blue.  (I swear I just spelled that "bloo.)  That picture is great! I'm sorry about the wait and the thumb, dude.  :( MK.  Stop making fun of my sister's maternity shirt.  God.

A, I probably missed this somewhere because I haven't been around much but are you painting a floor?

  • Hey ladies.  I'm just relaxing now for the rest of the night.  I put together mine and H's bikes earlier after the movers took them apart, and put the new lawn mower together.  Then I went and got my tires filled with air and went for a bike ride around the house.  It's pretty awesome because if you turn one way out of our neighborhood it's really busy and tons of stores, and then the other way is completely open and all farms.  So I went that way and had very little traffic or anything.  But there was also barely any civilization around so the freak in me kept thinking about how this could be the start of a horror movie.
Evening everyone.  I'm here just doing housework.  The one time I was in the ER for a broken thumb, it took all night, at least five hours.  Is that not normal?
    Posted by edielaura
When H cut his finger, we were there for an hour.  When I hurt my neck at my last job, I was called back before I even finished checking in with the receptionist/triage person, and when I went in for blood testing after I was bitten at work, I made it as far as walking to a chair to sit down when they called me.  Oh, and when I broke my face I was there for about an hour, most of that sitting and waiting for the X-Rays to develop, or whatever they do to x-rays.

Texas, that's where my H's cut was too.  Then again,t he medical staff on that night was so incompetant that they couldn't even get it numbed after 4 tries, so i guess I'm not surprised they stitched it when there was another option.  They didn't even clean it, because they said "Oh, it looks pretty clean...did you clean it before you came?  Oh, good...well it looks fine."

  • Beachy I think about that when I'm biking to the train station at 5am some mornings. I try not to freak myself out too much.

Fezz, sadly that's one of the pictures that comes up when you google pregnant in chainmail. That and a picture of a Dauschaund in chainmail.

  • Hi!

Hanging out with my family, waiting for my inlaws to come over.  My MIL invited herself (and FIL) to dinner tonight, so we had to change the reservations to 9pm because that was the only time the restaurant can accommodate us.  Grr.

Oh, and I still can't talk.  But my dad called in a prescription for steroids to calm down my vocal cords and some phenergan with codeine, so my throat stopped hurting and my cough improved.

Embarrased face for moving in to mom's house? The apartment in the garage? Or your brother's choice in paint colors?

My H got his stitches without numbing after the stupid doctor failed 4 times, including a shot of the numbing stuff directly into his open wound.  H finally said "Why don't you just stitch it up?" and the doctor was like "Well, that's going to hurt..." and H was like "And you think the needles you're sticking between my fingers and into my wound don't?  We could be DONE by now, just stitch it!"  I almost passed out.  He was fine.  I wanted to die.

  • Kelly I actually have the same bag, or at least one like it.  I keep my phone in there too, but then I start thinking if I got attacked and knocked off my bike that wouldn't help me.  Unless the attacker was super cool and let me use my phone.  I could totally try the Zach Morris "pause" and grab my phone, but I don't think that works IRL.  I know, i'm an idiot.

When I broke my wrist I was in the ER for about an hour before I got brought back, then another 2 hours probably before I got x-rays, and then at least another hour before they reset it and put the temporary cast on.  It was at least 3 hours after I got there that they even gave me pain meds.  When they gave me the shots of novicaine before resetting it H was ready to pass out from watching the needle bend.  They had him leave the room when they did the actual resetting, and the male nurse held my good hand and let me squeeze the shitt out of it.  H said he also passed out just from the sounds he could hear on the other side of the curtain.

I'm sort of picturing glow in the dark star stickers all over the place now. My brother had a room like that when he was 18. Black light stuff everywhere.<div>
</div><div>Mica - I'm glad you're feeling better. Does codeine make you sleepy? Every time I have bronchitis, I take cough medicine with codeine, and it makes me feel/act completely shiiit-faced drunk.</div>

Ha, I took an elbow to the cheekbone at my old job, and it fractured my cheekbone right at the zygomatic process, which is apparently quite impressive.

I love GSN.  Lingo, Chain Reaction, man I could watch that shiitt all day.

  • Phenergan with codeine is the SHIITT, Mica.  There are not many medications that I can say I love (I believe that Singulair is the only other one I'd say that about, haha), but damn it, I get that stuff when I have bronchitis, and it's the only thing that helps me sleep.
