How is/was your Saturday?

I waited all day to go to work.   15 minutes before we were scheduled to start the sunset sail the heavens opened up and thunder/lightning started.   Being a sunset sail and the mast being a huge lightning rod we had to cancel.

I just got home to find we only have half power.  Internet, TV and the fridge are all working.  A/c, bedroom and bathroom are not.

How is your day?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • Today, so far, is a good day. DH and I tag teamed with Edmund last night. We both got a little sleep.

I'm excited to be able to take Edmund to his first soccer match this evening.

We got hit with a major rain storm too and ruined my plans for tonight too.
We went out for lunch then came home and took a nap.

I was thinking about your post earlier about your sheets. If I were you, I would check the shipping cost vs getting new ones.

When I move, I tend to get rid of everything and start fresh.
  • Started off good... brunch and hanging out with FI before coming to work. In the 3+ hours I've been at work (2-4 more to go, depending on what the GM decides), I've cashed out one service customer, written one cash receipt for a down payment, and answered a grand total of 4 phone calls.

    I'M. SO. BORED.
  • We have had a pretty lazy day.  I need to go shower soon and get ready.  We are going to the same soccer game as Ciara tonight.

And did I read this right, Edmund is going to the game?

<div>Actually after I thought about it,  I want a king size bed anyway (we have a queen now).  So it might not be an issue.   But if they will pay for the shipping, why not take the old stuff and use it for the guest bedroom?</div>

  • I went to the library today and got a card. I haven't had a library card in forever! It was exciting. I then drove around for a few just to get lost in the area.

Tonight, probably doing nothing. MIght see what movies are on demand.

  • I have never been to the stadium before so I don't know where anything is.  I'll send you a PM in a second with my cell number and we can text once we are there.

  • Hey everyone. Just got done eating a lovely steak dinner and J just left to go to a friend's birthday party. I will probably try to study later but I'm relaxing right now. I'm lurking around TN and TB to pass time and chuckle at crazies.

  • Hey guys. We had to put our kitty down this morning. She was only 2 years old. If you didn't see in the other thread, she was bit by an unknown animal and since she wasn't up on her rabies vaccine we could either quarantine her for 6 months or put her down. The quarantine would've cost $2,000 and we can't afford that. It's been a really rough day. I've spent most of the day at the mom's and then FI and I went to the mall and we're going to see a movie at 7. Being in the apartment sucks because it reminds us of her. Just keep us in your thoughts please.
  • Oh my goodness, Aleigh, I am so sorry. :( That must have been incredibly difficult, I can't even imagine. ((8billion hugs))

Aleigh! I'm so sorry! *hugs*. My brother and his wife had to do that a kitty a few months after they got her because she had some disease that couldn't be cured. It's heartbreaking when you have to  make a decision like that.

  • Getting out and doing things (like mall & movies) is definitely a good idea though, so I'm glad you're doing that. It does no good to shut yourself in, so I'm very happy that you are keeping yourself busy.

  • Thanks guys. You're always so supportive and I love you all.

  • Good evening!  I'm making chicken skewers right now and can't wait for them to be done.  I had shrimp and mushrooms for a mini app a few minutes ago and they were delicious.

Have fun at the soccer ladies.  I'm thinking about taking T to a Crew game for his birthday in June.  I'll wait until I can see weather reports to decide though since we like to pregame it in the parking lot.
  • Awww, aleigh, I'm so sorry.
  • Stacks-- the quote in your sig reminded me of a little "alert" on a classmate's wedding website that I saw. I'm not really friends with them but they go to school with me and I saw that they had just posted on their newsfeed a link to their "the knot" wedding website. I snooped on it and saw that they had this little note that said-- "The invitations are made out to those written on the invite ONLY--no crying children, please."

    I chuckled.
