How is/was your Saturday?

Re: How is/was your Saturday?

  • Oh and to be more of an AW for my dogs... my will-be-13 year old:

And yes, campus parking tickets SUCK. Our campus PD are particularly bad... if THEIR reader malfunctions and can't scan your parking pass, YOU get a ticket. I contested one last semester for that - got a $50 "failure to properly display permit" ticket despite my permit being attached to my window in the appropriate place. I never heard anything, so I, too, assume it was taken care of (since they allowed me to apply for a permit for Spring & Summer 2011).
  • Trufax: I once had a woman performed a hex on me at the bank because I wouldn't reverse all of her fees.

SO cute!!! I have a serious soft-spot for Labs, I think because we show so many. They are just.so.happy!

I'm really thrilled with how good my oldies look... you'd never know Pepper was 9 or that Crickett will be 6 by looking at them, and they certainly don't act like it either. Chelsea answers to "no-no-bad-puppy" more than anything, though... our little Woodchuck/Toy-minator. She LOVES chewing on wood and de-stuffing toys, the latter she got from her sire who can de-stuff a toy in about 15 seconds, no lie.

  • I can't imagine you ladies working at banks.. I'm sorry for rude customers. I always try to be polite...

I work at a car dealership as a cashier/receptionist and can't tell you how many "OMFG-YOU-GUYS-SCREWED-ME" calls I get, where they scream at me. Umm, hello? I just answer the phones. Don't yell at me.

... the only time I got uppity with a customer service person recently (I think, at least), was when the university computers applied my down payment for summer courses to the wrong semester, then dropped me from my summer classes for "non-payment" despite my overall account showing the $150 credit. They told me that I would have to re-register and that the fee went up since I was "now registering late"... I was calm with the first two people I talked to, but finally lost it with the supervisor who told me that I would need to come up with an additional $200 to re-register. Yeah, not kosher especially since they already had my money... I registered AND paid early/on-time, so it was not my place to have to come up with additional $$ for their system's failure. Amazing how when I told them I'd withdraw my tuition altogether, suddenly they could override it and apply my $150 to the correct semester and time frame. LOL.

Labs are ridiculously happy. Tory never seems to be in a bad mood. And yes your dogs look great for being "over the hill" in dog years, :) Tory is totally a wood chewer and almost all of our furniture is made of wood.  It is a problem.

I quit my bank job after 4 years this past August. It felt amazing and I will NEVER go back. The people I know that have worked there for most of their adult lives are really bitter people.

AND AND I totally feel you on the registering issue. I feel that the only exception to the customer service rule are university financial aid/registrar people. Because their systems NEVER WORK RIGHT. Somehow everything has gone right since I got into law school, but undergrad was pure hell with that place.

  • Since I live at home with my parents ATM (once again, house hunting royally sucks), Chelsea is here too... she chewed up one of my mom's couch arms pretty good. My mom just shrugged it off, but we managed to keep it hidden from my stepdad for almost 2 months when someone we're friends with drunkenly let it slip to him by saying "Oh, I hear you're in for a new couch!" UGH. He was livid. She's also destroyed a wooden platform dog bed he bought for his Chihuahua mix... whoops.

  • You go, Bree! I'm also very ridiculously nice and polite to customer service people. You never know what they will say to their supervisor who is the person that can authorize other things. When we went to report all the BSC threats and drug crap that made us want to leave our apt, we were really calm and nice with the leasing officer we talked to so that he would relay the messages the right way to his boss.
In Response to Re: How is/was your Saturday? : Whatever happened with this?
    Posted by bree4305
It is kind of a long story but I can sum it up, haha. Basically, they seemed to assure us that we would be able to leave w/out penalty and they would take care of it after we left. Well, two days later the manager of the complex decided to have the RA of the college students go into the apt and search it for drugs. Of course, there were none in there on the day she searched. There was however, enough alcohol to kick her out of the school AND the apartment complex (the school has a no tolerance alcohol policy in their dorms). Didn't really solve OUR problem since she will still be allowed into the building by other students AND bring drugs in....and of course it was just so convenient that the one day they search, they don't have any in there. They jumped into the investigation way too fast. The manager had a big fight w/ J about the situation b/c she didn't want to let us out without penatly. By the end of it, we are moving out but have to pay one more month of rent (June, though we are moving on the 28th of May). Which is better than the normal 2 months of rent PLUS $1600 penalty that is in the lease, anyway

Either way, still a crappy resolution that could've gone better if they were more careful about the investigation and could've actually busted a drug ring instead of kicked her out for stupid booze.

  • So um yeah. That killed the conversation, lol.

  • Just got back.

Let's see.  I had a great steak dinner, won $400 and came home to still only having half power.

Some how our bedroom a/c has power yet the rest of the bedroom does not.  We have run extension cords to get light and TV on in the bedroom (dh and I both 'need' TV to sleep).  A/C on a big thing because they do not run well on extension cords.

This is one thing I'm not going to miss when we move.

I wish my dogs sighed at me. They yoddle and howl and screech. Seriously, Crickett sounds like a pig at slaughter if you're 20 minutes late feeding her dinner.

<div>OOT  -  It's been real bad lately.  Today we had a thunderstorm and a lot of rain. It's sad that  rain will cause power outages..  On Wednesday it wasn't even rain, there was an explosion at the power plant.  It's the major thing I will not miss when we move.</div><div>

I'm off for the night. The joys of living at home... just was threatened that room "must be spotless" within the next 24 hours. If I actually had somewhere to PUT things, perhaps it would be (3x5 closet =/= bad news)... ugh.
  • I love my parents and seriously appreciate being able to live here rent-free... just makes me nuts sometimes (since I am rarely home other than to sleep). Hopefully within the next 3-4 months, FI & I will find something to call our own.
