I spend most of the day runing errands and finishing up some projects. Nothing too exciting. Now I'm just relaxing with some dinner.

Oh and DH sold the car today.  Well it will be official on June 1.  Problem is I'm here until Aug.   At least work is only 2 miles away so I can walk most days.  Not sure what I will do at night.  

I get why he did it.  This guy has been asking since March to buy the car.  They have a 3 year old and 8 month old twins.  He gave us a fair price and needs the car now.   I'm just annoyed I will be somewhat carless for a few months.

Good news our friends are traveling a lot in the summer so I will be able to take there car part of the time.

I keep checking for updated about my good friend's mom-- she is at the mayo clinic in Rochester (one of the best in the states) and just had a liver transplant last night after some emergency procedures. I can't say I'm surprised, because she drank like a tank. I don't think I ever saw her sober or without a drink in her hand. Regardless, it is a good wake up call for her and reminder to my friend that she should NOT follow in her mother's footsteps with alcohol. I'm just glad she is going to be ok.

I would feel annoyed too, lynda. Just the comfort of having the car there is a nice convenience. You're lucky work is walking distance! I suppose the weather never gets TOO bad around there that the walking would be a pain.

I just hope that the cough was a manufactered one because I hate thinking about actually somehow being able to record a poor baby doing that. I think I had some kind of really nasty cough like that when I was a baby. My mom had a really hard time with it.

I can see what you mean there, bree. I was shocked how fast she got a donor. Like, they decided yesterrday morning to do the transplant, she was put at the top of the list, and got a donor THAT DAY and had surgery overnight. How does that happen?

The problem is walking to work in the day is fine.   However at night it's not an option.  I have nice co-workers so they will give me a ride, I just had asking all the time.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I read that. I was happy for her though, that it happened so fast. They said her original liver was just completely dead.

I know that for the Rochester Transplant Center they do require patients to have a certain amount of clean time and be working a recovery program before they even get considered for the list. The counselor has to coordinate with the social worker at the hospital about progress/lack of.

I don't think that she was in any kind of recovery program or anything. I don't know that I'd classify her as an alcoholic, necessarily. It is hard to explain unless you knew her...she is more of an intense social drinker. I don't know. Either way, she was still well-functioning and had a job that she did well, etc.

Today has been quiet and pretty relaxing. Our friend and her kids have been gone all day. It has been a nice change. H and I both needed it. My Dad made it here safely and we are going to take him out to dinner in a bit.

My uncle had a heart transplant last July and before they would put him on the list they made him stop smoking. They tested him right up until they put the new heart it.
They have people who went to them the same time he did that still aren't on the list because they wouldn't give up smoking.
