Re: How is/was your Saturday?

  • It's the same one I posted a week or so ago. The one I tried on was a few sizes too big, but I still really love it.

  • Bree. You're freaking adorable. F'real.

Dresses? DRESSES? I got married once. THREE FREAKING YEARS AGO. In a bar. Don't judge. Well...on the beach at a bar. WHATEVER, OK!?

Fishy I'm getting married on the beach, right by a bar. I plan to be at the bar soon after the ceremony.

  • I don't believe youuuuuuuu Fishy. :) BTW kind of a random question, did you ever have braces? Because if not, you have ridiculously lovely teeth. (I AM SUCH A CREEP)
    image
  • Grrrrr.... I DID have braces. But, my teeth were always straight. My upper jaw wasn't big enough, so I had to have a jaw widener thingy to make my upper jaw bigger, which pushed my teeth apart, and then they had to put braces on to fix what the widener did.

But, I've always had pretty straight teeth.

  • I don't have a dress to AW so can I AW my ceremony/reception place again? because ummmmmm it takes my breath away a lot.
    image
  • Fishy, I totally plan to be having mimosas while getting ready. I have no shame in that. I would think less of myself if I didn't.

At my friend's wedding this summer all the bridesmaids and bride did a shot of whiskey before going to the church. I want that to be mine lol.
    image
  • Well they look great, Fishy. :) I never had braces because my teeth were always just "ok" enough to not have them. So now they are crooked but not OMG crooked.
    image
  • We had mimosa's, too. And mostly everyone had a drink during pictures. ANNNDDDD, we bought all of our ceremony guests drinks upon entry to the bar. Mostly everyone had a cocktail during the ceremony.

YEAH YEAH YEAH, whatever, it was awesome.

Then we booze cruised on a giant boat.

    Best. Day. Ever.

  • All I care about is that I have chocolate covered strawberries and that there is a special plate of them saved just for me. Of about, at least....35 strawberries.
    image
  • Ohhh thats a good idea about having a drink during ceremony. But since it's mostly just close family and friends and the bar is literally 2 steps to the ceremony site, I think it's going to be family at the bar anyway. We're joking that they won't leave the bar area to see the ceremony since the bar offers a good enough view.

Musical-I LOVE your reception site! It's gorgeous
    image
  • Thanks ggirl! Its a castle. Well, not really. It WAS a courthouse and now it is a historical landmark & has offices and stuff in it. Buuuuut I get dressed in one of the old (really pretty!!) courtrooms like this girl:

and and and the outside of the building just takes my breath away in the wintertime:

  • Gorgeous!

But now I must go eat dinner and such. I'm sure I'll be back later since its a saturday night and I have no life.

  • I LOVE your venue. LOVE.

  • Have a good dinner, :)

I am contemplating moving from our desktop computer to my laptop---I'm getting bored with not sitting all slouched and comfy on my favorite chair. ;)
    image
  • ME TOO FISHY. It was the one thing that I just knew was my "must have" wedding item/thing. We looked at dozens of places but in my mind I just kept going back to it. I love the elegance it will have during the winter and during an evening wedding. All my life I thought I wanted a summer wedding but when budget/time concerns made winter the necessity---this just sealed the deal. :)
    image
  • You ladies are making me uber jealous with your dresses and venues and what not... my venue is nothing to look at from the entrance, and since it's just now starting to become spring weather, when we signed our contract everything was brown and dead at the ceremony site, so no photos of that either.

I do have a few pics of my dress, but they aren't fantastic (taken either when I first tried the dress on and wasn't sure if I loved it or not or after I'd been there for an hour & a half and was ready to just put my jeans back on haha)...

Also, coming in late to the discussion, but totally shocked about Boogard's death too - and have to agree that my first thought was "I wonder if drugs were involved"... I'm not from MN or NY, but as a Chicago fan I really enjoy some rough & tumble hockey. "Boogey-man" was always fun to watch, and he was really the epitome of hockey-heart off the ice.
  • Kelly-- I didn't take those photos of my venue-- I googled them. :) I bet if you google the venue site you would find some great pics of the venue. No need to get discouraged! ;)

And I agree, Boogard was really great to watch and had a lot of positive spirit off of the ice too.
