Anyone around?

Re: Anyone around?

• Sara, It was 3 days after our wedding.  I was driving to work and there was a flash flood from really bad rain.  The street I normally drive on was closed (with a cop not doing much except blocking the street).  I thought I could cut around through a neighborhood.  It was pouring and still dark out and I really didn't know where I was.  I pulled onto a street and all the sudden the water was up to my windows and my car stalled out.  Then the water started rushing in the car.  It was really scary, but I somehow managed to get out of the car.  A coworker lived a street away and I walked to their house.  His wife let me in and another coworker came and picked me up.  We went to work and my cell was dead, and I didn't know my H's phone #.  I had to call my dad to come and get me.

The car was totalled.  It was about a year old.  Fortunately insurance covered most of it and I was able to get a new car.
• Omg, Hockey. How terrifying! Poke, besides all the waiting, are you having fun?
• Poke I didn't see that you were going with your dad!  How long are you on the road?
Hi Poke!  I'm just relaxing today. I did some dishes and need to vacuum my dirty house. Later today I've been asked to measure our backyard for a fence, so I guess that's my project. I'm not really sure how to do it, or where our measuring tape is hiding.  That sounds silly because I know how to measure stuff, but the entire yard seems intimidating.

</div><div>I'm here.  Went to the farmers' market, made banana oat muffins a la Pinterest, had a peach with Nutella on it (delish) as part of my lunch.  H says I'm nesting cause I have like 3 more receipes I want to try this week too.</div><div>
</div><div>Erin - I'd invest in a large roll of string/twine and roll it out to the length of your yard and then measure it, like 3 feet at a time against your tape measure.  I don't think a roll of string would be that expensive and measuring it would be much easier than trying to march around your yard with a tape measure and hope you match the ends up right.</div>
In Response to Re:Anyone around? : It has Baloo from the Jungle Book. I'm not sure about ducks, but it's been soo long since I watched it.

<div>If I remember right, it's got Chip and Dale and they're pilots or something.. And I remember Baloo's there too.</div>

Well, even if I could drive the truck which has 13 gears I wouldn't be able to since I don't have my CDL. I am just along for the ride. I don't know exactly how long I will be on here. Until he gets routes through Atlanta again. Also I'm having a great time. Much more fun than I thought I would be.
• Ya I joked around with my boss about how I should have taken a honeymoon! haha

I had to send poor H a message on FB to let him know and let him know my dad was driving me home.
• Okay. Time to stop using up dads data. Until next time ladies!
• Bye Poke - glad you're having fun.
• Loopy, THANK YOU. That's a much better idea. So much better. I can't believe I didn't think of that. I can handle that project!

Banana oat muffins sound yummy.
• It was this recipe and it really was that easy.

I cooked them for the minimum and they were done - I was suprised cause I figured I'd have to cook them longer due to the altitude.  Guess not.
• Yum. Those sound good. Oh boy, it's raining. We need rain sooooo badly.
• ooh those muffins look good! I wish it wasn't too hot to bake. This heat wave can be over any day now. Wally, send some rain to CA please! :)
• Is anyone gonna watch the meteor shower tonight?
• I doubt it Sara.  It's past my bedtime :).
• You're growing a banana Loops! Sleep is a good excuse to miss it :)
• We're home! The kitties didn't destroy the house while we were gone, yay!

And, four packages were on the front stoop: 2 boxes of wedding glassware I got for super cheap on WC, my old lady orthaheel slippers (OMG, I love them already) and some glasses I ordered for the downstairs kitchen. ANDPLUSALSO, two more RSVP cards! I love the mailman.

<div>Growing a banana/FruitLoop is hard work! You definitely need sleep. Someday you will get to watch a meteor shower WITH Fruit Loop. And it will be just as amazing to see him/her watch it with wonder as it is to watch it yourself. </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: God, that sounded super motherly. Sorry! ; )</div>
• I think it sounded sweet Wally.  And I LOVED getting RSVP's in the mail.  It made my day.  I miss the days when people sent real mail.  it's so much fun.  Maybe I should send more real mail in the hopes of receiving some...

<div>It IS such fun to get old-fashioned mail. Especially packages! Nerdy Girl got a letter from a friend at nerd camp, too, so she was all happy. Nevermind that this friend posts on FB and emails her frequently. I think it's neat they still write regular old letters. </div>
I'm here.  I'm watching some bonuses of One Tree Hill.  H took me to pick up my birthday presents today, the last two seasons of One Tree Hill and the first two volumes of <strong>Talespin</strong>...because I'm a child like that.
Posted by crash2729
<div>
</div><div>My H found a way to download all of the Ducktails Season One episodes. He's a child like that too. :-)

• Wasn't Tailspin the spinoff of Ducktails with Launchpad McQuack as the plane pilot who crashes the plane. He's in Ducktails too.
• Krup, I think you're right.  I kept thinking Tailspin had Huey, Dewey and Lewy, but maybe that was Ducktales and Tailspin had chip and dale?  So confused...that was a long time ago.

Ok, I'm off.  H got off the computer just long enough for me to send Sara a PM and now I have to get ready to meet Cfrb.

I've been running errands all day since we're headed to the beach house tomorrow.  I can't wait. Naturally one of the errands was to the liquor store.  Food, sun screen, sho, rts etc.

How's the trip?  Are you having a nice time with your dad? Seeing our beautiful country and all that?

How's everyone else today?

ETA: You have to be fvvcking joking?  Sho.rts is a bad word on TK now?  Honestly?  Damnn that Lucy.
• Ok, H and I figured it out.

Tailspin has Baloo.

Ducktails has Scrooge, Huey, Louie, and Dewy, and Launchpad McQuack.

Chip & Dale had their own show.

Launchpad McQuack was on Darkwing Duck as well which was the spinoff of Ducktails.

Whew.....I know we were ally dying to figure that out.
• Oh hai.

Guys.. We need to talk What is UP with these commercials? They are totally bizarre. Toilet paper commercials, drug commercials, lah blah. Its all weird.
