  • So I just got back. Are there any good posts I should go look at??
  • I have a freakin' judegment so bad.

I judge the stupid ass that calls into my work all the time to talk to someone, and when I tell him he is on the phone, he always says some smart ass comment in the rudest voice like "you know what, I would love nothing better than to talk to his voicemail" I seriously want to fuccking cut him. He is so unbelievably rude that it makes me want to scream, and he has already done this to me 3 times in the past 10 fuucking minutes. I might just explode.

I judge the Chipotle thing.  I also judge people who can't pronounce the world nuclear properly.  It is NOT nuculer.

I judge parents who go out in public, especially at restaurants, and give their kids crayons or food of any kind to occupy them and allow them to throw crap everywhere.  Teach them to behave.

I judge people who stalk me in a parking lot when I'm trying to load groceries into my car and stare at me like I need to hurry up instead of just pulling into the parking space 3 spaces back.  It's not that hard to walk the extra 20 feet.

I judge people who write in nothing but run-on sentences.  Not everyone is gifted when it comes to grammar but some basic punctuation skills will help.

I also judge people in public who don't walk on the right side of the hall or aisle.  This also coincides with people who are with a group in such public places and decide to walk in a line so that nobody can get around them.

Wow, this place just exploded with judgments.

I judge the admissions coordinator of the SNF where I work for not calling me about my latest admission.  I know that she knows that it's a crappy admission.  And I know that I scare her.  But it's her job to communicate with me, so if she's going to give me a crappy admission, please at least call me to give me the bad news.

Oh, and eat the stupid cookie.  Or don't.  I don't care.  I eat homemade stuff all the time and take my chances with pet hair and fecal matter.  That's probably why I rarely get sick or food poisoning, the constant introduction of low levels of germs.

What is wrong with giving kids something to occupy them at a restaurant? They don't have the attention span of adults and if giving them a coloring book and crayons makes them happy and keeps them calm and busy, what is wrong with that?

We used to have a separate line at work that we would transfer especially ridiculous people to where it would just ring and ring and ring and then FINALLY a message would come on that said "I'm sorry, transfer incomplete".  That'll show em.

And now we're talking about poop cookies. Yum!

I would probably eat the cookie (if I was on cookies at the moment). But maybe I have faith in people that if they're baking they'll wash their hands.

  • Yeah, I have a 2 and 3 year old, I do the best I can :)
  • Ditto specialk.  I think the point wasn't the crayons, but the fact that the parents don't make their kids listen.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: I Judge : Actually, the 80's is when all that crazyness was happening. I did a large amount of my trick or treating in the late 70s, early 80s.  My parents NEVER let us eat anything that wasn't prewrapped and every wrapper was checked for security; even when we lived in a neighborhood where they new 90% of the people.

I will say that till I was in the 4th grade, maybe 1984, there wasn't a huge worry about what people were doing to the candy in my area. After that, we could not eat any fruit, unwrapped candy or homemade goods.

  • It may just be because I have baby fever or I love kids, but if a baby is doing something inappropriate in a restaurant I usually think it is the cutest thing ever. I LOVE when babies look at me from the next booth, my heart just melts. But I guess it depends on the age of the crayon thrower, 12- hell no I would be pissed, but probably anywhere up to 3 I would think it was adorable.
  • Shannon, I kind of agree, but I think there's also a point at which it becomes irritating.  I will give a little one a pass only so long.

Ah, that makes sense. I read it differently.

Then I agree with the judgement. I judge parents that don't control their young children in a restaurant setting.

  • Kids throwing things is not cute. Especially if it's being aimed at me and the parents aren't doing anything to stop them.

  • My children are required to discuss only politics and religion in restaurants. I'm trying to breed a different kind of asshole than just your run of the mill crayon thrower.
  • Mel, those are my kind of kids.  But I think at this point, they might be able to hold up a discussion better than I can.

I hope you've taught them to listen to the people seated around  them and only offer differing and scathing opinions than those they hear. But don't teach them too much, you want their opinions to be born of ignorance for maximum effect.

There is a child - probably age 3 or less that is always on the commuter train I take.  He has a metal Thomas the Tank Engine engine & coal car that he is constantly tossing around at people including his mother.

On very few occasions have I ever seen her really reprimand him.  She also lets him run up and down the car.

I've also seen her allow him to walk the station platform and on the track spur with all the rocks in his barefeet - recently.  It's not exactly balmy in the Boston area these days.

    ETA:  That I judge her.

  • Oh man.  I just read a few posts from that blog Anna mentioned on the first page.  I want to punch that girl in the face.  Like, seriously, right in her mouth.  She's a raving loon.  I enjoy the "I will not leave the house for 9 months" bit.  She makes Scottswife sound positively modern.

  • I just read this ENTIRE thread, and my contribution is:

    I would eat the cookie.

    That is all.
