Good Evening!

Re: Good Evening!

• I've never heard of someone having a weather radio in their bedroom. Must be pretty bad down there eh?
image
• I know there were huge hail storms in he midwest today, I haven't seen anything about Kentucky yet
There is a line of storms coming this way that have been spurring up tornadoes. The radio just went off for a tornado watch, but it goes off for everything. I wish I could just set it for when there is a tornado warning. It's SOOOOOO loud and went off twice the other night because there was a chemical leak at some gas station at 3am. It literally made us fly out of bed when it went off.

Awesome.  I anticipate a vibrating dog in the bed with me tonight.

• So for you nurse people I have a question. I went to the doc last week and she said the lower number of my BP was high, most likely from taking Sudafed. Could this possibly be why I can't sleep when I take a lot of it?
• It does get better barbie. I promise. It may not seem like it but it does.

• That sounds kinky Kate.
• I don't think so.  Sudafed has always kept me awake.  I usually take it with a Benadryl when I take it at night.

• I'm watching the storm line on the radar right now on weather.com and it was a really creepy S curve going on. That's not good.

• That's a good idea. I was taking the 12 hour stuff but couldn't ever take it at night so I bought some 30mg stuff at Kroger the other night. My head felt like it was going to explode when I got home today.
• I'm feeling fine. Just wanting to kick this little guy out though.
You still have a ways to go Musical! How is your planning going?
Posted by barbie92
Yeah, it seems like a long time, though we got engaged and started planning 16 months out, so the fact that we are under 9 months now is crazy. Planning is ok, we are almost at the point of signing a caterer since I think we finally decided on one that just gave us a proposal. Other than that, the only big things I have done are: dress, date, venue, wp and their attire, invitation design, and most of the centerpiece stuff. We are getting the check of e pics this weekend though and then I can make the STDs! A good friend of mine is doing the e pics though so I still have to find a wedding day photog. I'd ask my friend but he is pretty new to everything so I don't know how he'd do with a whole wedding.

• So here's a story about flying out of bed...

Last night at 1:00AM, H bolts up and was like "SHIIIIIIIIT."  Apparently he had a lightbulb moment that he left his rental car at his hotel in Alabama and took a cab to the airport at 4am because he forgot he rented a car.  So the car's at a Marriott in Birmingham, and the car keys are with him in Louisville.  He got out of bed at 1am and called National to deal with it.  I thought it was funny, but I also felt sorry for him.  It's hard to travel as much as he does.

• Birdie - Yes, Sudafed can jack up your BP. I am not a nurse, but feel like I should half the time. I learned a lot from my Mom growing up since we took so many allergy and asthma meds. That is why a lot of older people and those with high BP can't take it. It can also make you get that nervous, jittery feeling.

I live on Sudafed and Mucinex, its just that right now, it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I still can't breathe and H said I was keeping him awake with snoring last night. Not fun.
• I don't think there has been a baby squirrly yet. She is about 6 weeks behind me if I remember correctly.

Kate, that's really awesome! I have a psych degree to go with my nursing degree, so I can put them both to use. When do you graduate?

Birdie, are you taking non-drowsy Sudafed? If so, it has pseudoephedrine as it's main ingredient and that's probably what's keeping you up.

As for the high BP, that happens because pseudoephedrine works on blood vessels to constrict them, which in turns raises your BP.

ETA: You should get your BP checked after your cold/allergies have subsided and you haven't taken Sudafed for a few days, just to make sure it goes back down.

• It was the behind the counter stuff. I just didn't know if the BP issue was causing the lack of sleep or if it was something else with the drug.
• Yeah I take a daily prescription allergy pill and learned the hard way about not taking cold meds while on it. I was taking Tylenol cold pills with my allergy meds and didn't realize the Tylenol had a decongestant in it (I'm dumb). I couldn't fall asleep and my heart felt like it was racing out of control kept doing weird things that made it hard for me to breathe normally. It was super scary so I went to the ER by myself at 3am and they did all these tests because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my heart (no one asked about my meds)... Too them forever to reach the conclusion that it was because of the meds, heh.

• Ah I see! I've been busy at work the past few weeks and haven't seen her around.
• Am I too late to drop in? I'm waiting for storms too. I'm wondering how our younger pup will do with them. She's about 5 months, so this should be her first big one. Our older one could care less. He'd doesn't get scared, but he will for sure get mad if I make him go in the basement to avoid tornados.
