I've been charting since around March, but it's frustrating.  My stupid temps never make that huge "jump" that they're supposed to at O time.

Bay I think everyone on my local that got married after me is knocked up or had babies already. 

I don't know if most people chart, Krups.  I would have never known what charting even was had I not been on TK/TB.

bay, you cant rely soley on teh temps.  that's actually the least important of all the signs.  your CM is the one to monitor carefully.

There are plenty of people that chart months even years and don't get pregnant.  Believe me it's not as easy as CHART=PG.

And just because you have fertile CM doesn't mean you actually O. 

I'm just going to back out of this thread... slowly.

I think that's more the question I was asking. For those that are charting is it because you heard about it around these parts?

I know some are TTA. I've thought about doing that before but haven't researched it that much. I'm happily still on my BC.

Bay - I'm not going to lie the first time my former coworker and her H had sex after she had gone of BC she was pregnant. We always joked it would happen, and it did.

Really?  I asked that question on the GP board on TN.  I'm charting but H is still using BC so there are no hormones involved, and my temps never rise.  I asked if I still O'd if the other signs were there but my temps didn't rise.  Only one person responded, and she said "If your temperature didn't rise then you didn't O."  That was it.

i have been charting for over 2 years now.  im very well versed in teh method.

the temp is an important indicator, but its not the MOST important.  in fact, there are other methods aside from the sympto-thermal method that dont use temp at all.

and sure, not EVERYONE gets preg right away.  but there is a good chance someone can if everything is "working" and you time your sex accordingly.

im sincerely trying to help.  you ARE aware that sympto-thermal is only one method of charting, right? that is the one I use, but you cant rely solely on the temps.

My Neanderthal H would probably agree with the female proposal KPS.  It's a good thing he proposed to me, because in reverse, he'd have been insulted.  Silly monkey.

Fezz -- I know that three cycles feels like a long time, but sometimes TTC takes a while.  The baby you're meant to have hasn't felt ready to show up yet.  But he or she will at exactly the right time.  Hang in there.  **Big bear hug**

I didn't chart.  Too lazy.  Kept an eye on the CM (ew) and it never seemed different to me or what it was "supposed" to be like. 

The month I got knocked up we did it twice the whole month, both random days.  We were not trying that month because I was going to Vegas the next month and I didn't want to be pregnant 

I kinda think it's a crapshoot sometimes, but charting makes people feel more in control.

Hello ladies I am late and not TTC so I will talk about other KPS.

The pee one made me laugh. I do not really care how she did it or if she noticed or what, but I just cannot imagine doing that. You really have no choice but to continue on with your day!

I also do not get the bach party thing. I understand that maybe she does not want him going to the strip club, or doing anything crazy, but seriously, its his bach party, and he deserves to have 1 fun night. I feel like if you get married, you should realize that there is going to be a bach party involved.

The proposal one I do not care for either. Everyone is different. We pretty much had our whole wedding planned before we even got engaged so maybe some people would view that as pushy or bossy, but we had talked about marriage for 5 years and one day we just chose a date and stuck to it. To each his own.

You're right it does feel a lot longer than it really has been and I know it takes time. The 3 cycles I've charted feel longer than when I wasn't.  Thanks for the hug. <3

A lot of people chart as an alternative to hormonal BC.  I was on the pill for 10 years and really wanted to break free and live a more natural lifestyle so I researched and found FAM/NFP. I have used it to both avoid (2 years. 4 months) and to achieve 2 pregnancies. I'm using it again to avoid.

Also, on the subject of TTC, I am also worried that we will have trouble. My brother and his wife have pretty much been told that they cannot have kids and I know my mom miscarried twice. I do not know if it is a genetic thing but I just worry. I also worry about weird stuff, like the BC has made me infertile or the foods that we eat is destroying our insides. But I am a little crazy like that.
