  • I like my belly button piercing which I got on my 18th birthday (although I've still got 4.5 years before Kiki thinks it makes me trashy). I also like my MOH's foot tattoo.

    There, TR, ya happy? :)
  • I had a different view on strip clubs before I had a serious conversation with FI once about him going to them for bachelor parties and then I actually went to one a few times. Now as long as FI doesn't get a private lap dance or anything I'm fine with him going and would probably go with him.

I totally agree about the voter education thing.

On the flip side, the government needs to simplify their choices in some aspects too. I am a college senior and have never, ever had a single issue with reading comprehension, yet I was extremely stumped last year when I went to vote on a particular proposition. It was whether or not to allow this railway system into our county, and I could not understand which one said yes and which one said no. It was like they were purposefully trying to trick people. My grandma agreed. She said it has always been like that. I agree that voters should be informed about the choices they make, but it would be so much easier if they would have one that said, "Yes, I want MARTA" and "No, I don't want MARTA."

  • Yes, thank you Emily :)  No one should be so worried about what we internet strangers think that they need to give us an excuse as to why they have a belly button piercing.  Do your thang.

I think I was like 19 when I got it done, I'm 24 now.  Basically, I never would have gotten one on my own, but now that I have it, it's just kind of there, and I'm used to it.  I'll take it out eventually, but I don't see a reason to right now...I'm just kind of indifferent about it.

  • I had my navel pierced twice -- once when I was 21 (the people on Lifestar took it out when I got in the car accident and never gave it back to me), and once when I was 24.  The ring fell out in the shower six months later.  After that I gave up.  Figured it just wasn't meant to be.

  • My advice would be to go to one, just to put your mind at ease :) But you can't go bottomless in Indiana, so it really wasn't a big deal. More people were walking around and talking and drinking than oogling at the strippers.

My opinion really did change after I saw one first hand. It totally wasn't the sex fest I was picturing it to be (unless you count the stripper that was cracked out on something running up to me and kissing me on the lips, but that's a story for another day...)

I'm not exactly sure how this stuff works in GA, but it's entirely possible that the person who wrote that proposition had absolutely nothing to do with the government. In a lot of states propositions make their way to the ballot when private citizens write them then collect signatures and petition for them.

I am enjoying the strip club discussion.  My FH worked in various clubs for over 10 years, opening and managing at least 2 of them for the same owner.  Men would say to him "Oh, you must love it, having all the Ts,As, and Ps at your disposal", and he would say, "Ummmm, no I have a GF, and these ladies are either married or have BFs."

ETA:  I have no problem with strip clubs or my FH going to them.  I know he is coming home to be with me, not the ladies that work at them.  I have told him I would not mind going to one with him sometime.

One of his brother's wives is so strict, he is not allowed to even look at Playboy or she will threaten to divorce him.  She found an adult video in his truck once and moved out, until FH told him "tell her I left it there".

</div><div>Has he been before? I would suggest you two go together. It's probably not what you think. And yes, the strippers might act a little differently with you there, but they figure you want a show too. Be prepared to tip and to be asked if you want a dance. A lot of strippers love when women/couples come in, but others might shy away and stay with the male only clans. </div><div>
</div><div>It's fine for you to have your stance, as they are very controversial, but actually going to one first might change your mind, or at least help you back up your argument a little more.

  • Yeah, strip clubs are really not that big of a deal, especially topless-only ones. I mean, they're just boobs. Big whoop.
  • Melissa, we have to be prepared!!!

I was at the local strip joint in my hometown and this poor stripper was definitely high on something. I mean she was cracked out of her mind. She was doing ballet moves on the stage and was pretty much out of it. When she got down from one of her dances she came by the table I was sitting at, grabbed my face and planted a big one on my lips.

<div>I'm not sure either. It just had a ton of unnecessary wording, confusing sentences that seemed to contradict each other, and a very sophisticated vocabulary that I had trouble grasping as a college senior (history major), so I can only imagine how less educated people feel reading that mess. I'll change my stance to whoever writes them should make them less confusing!</div>

  • I have been to a couple strip clubs and I hate them.  They're trashy, the girls are usually coked out and mostly run by or most frequented by local drug dealers.

This is in my area anyway.  Maybe it's different where you're from.

The girls here get completely naked, they have sexual experiences together on stage (going down on one another), touching is allowed and pretty much anything else for a price.

I think what the previous poster was saying was that if it's not OK for H or FI to go into a private room at a party with a girl who takes off her clothes and grinds up on him then why would it be OK for him to pay for it to get done at a strip club.
