    Why Eags?

I'm married to my job. I have a great DH. I had a wonderful friend here. I still have some great friends back home. I have some other friends here - my cohort at work, we're close. I just didn't make friends in the traidtional 'do this and you'll meet people way'.

And, if you're my friend you have to understand the meaning of month end. And, just how bad it can suck.

I think as I've grown up I've become more introverted. I'm okay with it.

  • Girlie, I actually went to yoga with Muni on Thursday. And we better be going again this Thursday because it kicked my butt and if I keep going I'll feel super awesome in about a month.
  • I've definitely gotten more introverted as I've gotten older as well.  H and I need to make some couple friends though.  It would be really nice to know another couple or two that we both liked both parts of the couple and they didn't have kids either.
  • Kicked my assss as well. I was sore until Saturday.  We are DEFINITELY going this Thursday.
  • Wow, those are all "quality" shows on ABC Family . . . . :P

I'm usually really good at making friends, although I'm nervous about being back in school with 20 somethings.  I did find out that a friend of a friend will also be starting grad school at the same place this fall.  And she needs friends (they are also new to the area).  I hope we can be friends!  I really don't want my in-laws to be my sole source of social interaction.

Back when I started my masters, we invited everyone in the department over to watch the first football game.  That's the best way to make a bunch of new friends really quickly.  I'd run into people in the hallway and they'd be "Oh are you those girls having the party?  AWESOME!"
  • Hey there!

NC ladies you all didn't float away in the floods? Yay! I was thinking of you all this morning.

Sara I'm sorry to see about your dog.

Aryn, go hang out with the awesome NC ladies. I met Sarah, Aleigh, and Muni and they.are.AWESOME! Now if only Pheagles would stop thwarting my attempts at hanging out. :-P

Anyway, my day was busy, I was off yesterday, so I was catching up, and i completely forgot I agreed to meet with a client at 6pm. Thank god we were emailing earlier in the day and she said she'd "see me later". I just got home about 15 minutes ago.

I'd like to find this as well.

Next year I plan to focus on being more involved in our neighborhood and community and meeting people. This year my focus is on getting everything paid off and paying for a wedding.

  • I'm glad that the education program at my school puts students in teams. I take all my methods courses with the same 28 girls + one guy. So some of us are pretty close now and hang out outside of school.
  • Oh, Sara, I'm sorry about your dog too.
  • I make friends during class, but none have stuck after the class ends so far.  That's as much my fault as theirs, though.

  • Oh, no!  Sara, I didn't see about your doggie.  I'm so sorry.  He had a pretty long life though.  I hope you're doing okay.  I can't even imagine.
  • No flooding near me, so I didn't float away (:

90% of our neighbors are 80+ or trashy.
  • I know ABC Family isn't great tv but for some reason I didn't think it would be that bad. I just hate quippy tv like that and Gilmore Girls. I cannot explain my hatred for GG.

I live in a mountain. There were flood watches for our county, but we're good.

I think I might aim for the active in the community thing - maybe I'll join the Junior Women's League or something like that. I need to get involved in volunteering somewhere doing something again.

  • Damnit! I didn't know the new season of PLL started already. I can only watch the 4th episode on Hulu. It says the other three are available on ABCFamily.com. LIARS! They are not. Ugh, now I'll have to wait until they cycle through again on Hulu towards the end of the season. I hate that crap.

  • I AM WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS RIGHT THIS FUCKING SECOND.

    Friends off, Musu.
  • I guess I got really lucky in grad school, since my roommate came from Purdue with me.  And then grad students are a smaller close-knit group.  I'm just worried about being the weird old person in school now.  Like I saw that they have a dance society that has ballet/modern/jazz classes for $5 each night.  I thought "YAY!! That sounds great!"  Then I thought, "What are these girls going to think of some chubby 30 year old . . . ?"
  • I got invited to a yelp event and went to try to make friends.  Nope, no one was as cool as TK ladies.  :P

Adamar, when are you transferring to USF?  I'll take you out for lunch or something.
  • A lot of people friends off me because of Gilmore Girls, haha. I am glad that Lauren Graham graduated to Parenthood which is much better tv.

</div><div>Oh for sure! I'm buying each season as I come across them. Next up, season 4! I love that show. </div><div>
</div><div>I noticed the other day that Dawson's Creek is making a strange comeback. Everywhere I go stores are selling the series. It's weird. I used to love that show too.

  • I'm not sure exactly when it'll be, Mica.  I want to try and get through chemistry and calculus at HCC, and then transfer over for the biology stuff.  I will definitely let you know, though!

  • Making friends is freaking hard.
  • I keep trying to hang out with LDY but she keeps giving me excuses! :]
  • MP I'm sure you'll be fine. You can't be the only older person in the program. And dance your butt off you want to. Who cares what others may think?

  • I just saw a picture from a friend from high school's wedding, and another girl from school wore a pretty much white dress to the wedding.  Nice.

  • That's what I was thinking Beanie. I was tempted to buy the whole series the other day at Target. It was selling for like $50.00.

  • Joshua Jackson is my favorite success story from that foursome. But probably just because I have an irrational love for the show Fringe.

Although I do have a soft spot for Michelle Williams since she has Heath Ledger's love child.
