• Another flame.

I flame my FH for always wanting sex on Thursday night.  Like freakin' clockwork.
I work a weird schedule, 12 pm - 8 pm, Monday - Thursday, and then 9 am - 5 pm on Fridays, so our clinic is available to the employees on their shifts.  The "double back" on Thurs-Fri always makes me really tired.  FH knows this, I have done this since I started this job.  So, the one night I really want sleep is the one night he tries to keep me awake.

We have thought about it for awhile.  His family is Jewish and we've decided to raise our kids that way - I think the kids in his family have a very strong culural identity and I want that for mine too.

I was Episcolpalian (cannot spell!) and practicing.

• I'm sorry, birdie. And you have every right to feel what you feel, so don't feel bad about it at all.

My confession is that I am now freaked out about out money situation. It's going to cost me $900 today for my truck repairs, and I'm not willing to put that much on the credit card because I'm still paying off the tickets and rental car from our upcoming trip to PA. I could do it, I just dn't want to pay interest but paying out of my account will make even grocery shopping questionable.

My other option is to sign up for their credit program, which basically is that if I pay it off in 3 months I don't pay any interest. I think I can do it, so hopefully I qualify or whatever it is I have to do.

Awww Sesh, I feel you on that.  We had to pay our taxes on Monday and put it on a credit card - luckily it has no APR until the end of December so we had to set up this super-rigid payment schedule so that it would be paid off.  Because I'll be damned if I have to pay interest on my taxes.  We were going to to an installation plan with the IRS but they want $150 damn dollars just to set it up.  Bump that mess. You already have enough of my income, gubmint.

I thought about going as far as getting my PhD someday, but not too long ago I changed my mind. I really don't think it would benefit me and my career goals.

That is so much work! Kudos to you both.

• The other day I was having a conversation with FI's friend and he asked if we attend mass for Palm Sunday. I said no and he seem shocked as to why we didn't I don't attend church regularly and I feel it would be kind hypocritical to attend on certain religious holiday and not attend any other Sunday throughout the year. Maybe I am in the minority here. I understand that going at least once is better than nothing but I guess I just feel like it just showing up for show.

• Nuggs, I feel you on the stupid overdraft fees.  Except mine was my fault.  It was the day before pay day and I had $7 in my account.  I bought some trail mix at Target that I thought was $3.  It ended up being $9.  So, I returned it before I even left the store and got a credit.  But my bank gave me a $31 fee anyway.  So... I paid $31 for trail mix that I didn't even get.

Fuuck banks man.

• I'm right there with you Sesh.  I broke a tooth last weekend, and when I went to the dentist for it they said I needed a crown, and basically that was the only option.  My dental insurnace only covers 50% of it, so we still had to pay almost $600.  Totally unexpected, and had to go on the credit card.

• Nuggs that's good that you're switching.  I never knew that was an option until I had $60 in overdraft fees from 3 stupid trips, like coffee and Subway.  I knew my check was being deposited the next day, and I had a check out to my personal trainer at the time that hadn't been cashed in 2 weeks.  I took the chance that he wouldn't cash it between 2pm and midnight when my check was deposited, and of course I was wrong.

That's awesome! My H is a statistician, but his PhD is in applied mathematics. He did his dissertation in some kind of biostatistics thing about the age of dinosaur fossils. He works in market research now and his statistical models about buying habits of the American public for corporate brands.
That's really annoying that he lied about you going to church, DNA. Stupid Easter. I wish I could boycott it. I'm anti-religion ffs! Now I have to get going on my Saturday 8-miler by 8:30 at the latest because of a holiday I don't believe in.
Posted by daffodil_jill
Cengle, I am boycotting easter for these reasons exactly. I don't believe in it, and don't want to spend my time hopping from house to house (both my fam and his fam all live in the same area as us-ish) eating food I don't like.  Primarily also because i am over worked and over stressed right now and just want to stay at home.
• Oh yeah, Pink that SUCKS!
I feel your pain, my old job I commuted 45 miles one way, I had to budget gas in to my monthly budget, I actually moved into a smaller apartment so I could afford to drive to work (this was in 2007 when gas was $4 a gallon last time.)
• Nuggs, this is the first year H didn't owe on taxes (he owns a business, so he always owes). I guess it's because we filed jointly for the first time? I'm not really sure, although he did have a lot of deductions for expenses and whatnot. But yeah, he's had to do the payment plans and they suck. I hate tax time.

DnB, it's insane how expensive crowns are. Last year I had to pay over a grand for that and a couple other things, then a thousand more to fix what one dentist screwed up. I try not to use my CC because it has a high interest rate. It took me a long time to qualify for one since I had gone like 3 years without a card (even though I had good credit, go figure), so no way do I want to put another $900 on it.
• My FIL's don't know my religious beliefs yet. I guess I was always afraid they would like me less if they found out, so here we are 4.5 years later and trying to find an officiant and all of their suggestions are off the mark. Undecided
• It's ok Rosie, I think I'm going for sushi tonight so I'll focus on that while I'm eating my boring salad :)

• I feel sorry for you guys and all your dental work. My Mom complains all the time b/c recently her and my Dad have needed all kinds of crowns and bridges and their insurance covers less than it did last year.

H really needs to go to the dentist. I don't remember the last time he went. I am just thankful that I have good teeth or something. I have never even had so much as a filling. ::::knocks on wood::::

It's more of a lesser of evils thing.  Obviously, the Catholic church would prefer no prostitution at all, but the pope states that it is a step in the right direction that people with infectious diseases who work in the sex trade consider trying to stem the spread of a horrible disease.  The thought is that if the individuals involved think about the other person and wear a condom, maybe they'll take a step to realize what they're doing and consider not paying into the sex trade.  Does that make sense?

Sorry, I'm not trying to start a religious debate on FFF.
• Sesh most of the dental work I've had in the past few years is do fix the bad work of my childhood dentist.  My entire extended family went to him, and we all have had to get a ton of our fillings replaced and redone.

We might just pull money from savings to pay that part of the card off, but we haven't decided yet.  That card has a really low APR so I'm not that worried.  We have been working to pay off all of cards (but this has slowed drastically since H came home and we spend way more), so hopefully we get them all paid off by the end of the year.
