  • That's what both my grandparents (married) drive, J. The Lexus, not Maserati, hah. I love them though, they are great SUVs.

See, my Stratus was SUPER quiet, so it's probably just normal, btu seems sort of loud to me.  And going from the 2dr Stratus, the visibility in the Highlander is awesome sauce.

And yay!  My phone is dead, but when I go up to bed I'll plug it in and check it out!

  • Ugh i hear you on the visibility thing. Whenever I drive our expedition, I feel so much more in control and at ease with what I can see.

  • We have a Blazer, and fuckkkk if we're ever buying anything Chevy ever again.  That thing is a fucking money pit.

You ladies have such expensive dream cars. ;) My honest to god dream car is a brand new Subaru Forester. That's really it. I just can't get into some insanely expensive dream car.

But do not worry, my H has EXTREMELY insane dream cars. We can't both have such lofty dreams.

FI has a blazer as well and that thing is terrible on gas & always needs to be fixed up, thankfully its not his main vehicle. FI has decided to fix it up tho since hes had it sitting for a few months so we are waiting to hear back on how much the repairs are going to cost, not looking forward to that =/

  • Holly, that's funny because I like driving cars way better than something bigger. I like the ease of squeezing into small parking spots with a car and just 'zipping' around. I don't know. I like being the little guy.
  • Man... Big Brother is on at the same time as the Bachelorette finale next Sunday... decisions, decisions...
  • FI's dream cars are all classic cars or really expensive sports cars.  I can't think of the names of any of them right now.

That's waht we just did.  It's our third vehicle (it's H's snow vehicle/the vehicle we use for messy stuff like Christmas trees or driving to mud runs, etc), and he just put $800 in it just to make it operable again.  He said he's not fixing it again and if something goes wrong we're just going to scrap it.

  • We had a Blazer til we got the Expedition in Feb, it was a piece. It was a 1995 with almost 200k on it and we still managed to sell it for $1000 as a private sale. Erin I like the ability to park easier for sure, but I absolutely hate that every time I have to accelerate after a stop, people tail my ass because I have a tiny 4cyl that can't get up to speed as fast. I need V6 or higher for sure.

  • My Highlander manuevers 10x better than the Stratus ever did.  That thing did not turn worth shiiiit.

  • We have less than 100k miles on our stupid Blazer.  H has only put about 20k on it, and he's put about $3000 into it.  RIDIC.

<div>I'm a bad enough driver as it is, so I would rather have something small like a car.  If I have to get something with more room, the biggest I would go is a crossover SUV.  I drove my dad's minivan while my car was in the shop one time, and it wasn't comfortable for me at all.  I like the ease of being able to not worry about hitting cars when going in and out of parking spots.  </div>

  • My H just told me his dream car is a Ltous Elise Exige. Um, ok? I can't even find the price online, so I'm guessing expensive.
  • Alright it's bedtime for me. Good night !

Haha thats what FI uses the vehicle for as well, hes working as a contractor right now so hes carrying around a lot of tools/buckets/ladders/towells so he used to use that for work & the other was our leisure vehicle. Insurance was insane for both of them and the truck needed to be fixed up so frequently, so the blazer has been sitting since around last September. Hes decided to give the truck one more try, if it needs another round of repairs hes going to try sell it for whatever he can get or scrap it (if the quote for the repairs isnt insane this time around)

  • FI wants the new ugly BMW i3 or whatever, the one thats supposedly made of glass & is really ugly (hasnt been released yet). I told him the next car we get is mine/my decision since the two we have now are basically his. hah

Ugh, we were supposed to just have liability on it, and we found out recently that we were paying for full coverage.  H thought it was sort of expensive, but forgot about it and never asked.  Awesome.

The Lotus Elise is not nearly as expensive as you'd think.  I think a base model runs around $50k.  Which is expensive, of course, but not like terrifyingly so.

  • ...I have nothing to contribute. I'm not really all that into cars.
  • I don't have a dream car.  H wants a BMW 5 series.  I like the BMW crossover X5 I think it is.
  • Me neither Jess.

<div>I'm in the same boat.  When FI and my friends drool over a classic car, I'm like "it's really pretty" but I don't get the obsession.  Same with sportscars and really expensive luxury cars.  </div>

I like to look at the REALLY old cars.  Like the 1920's-30's roadsters.
